My Journey to..wait, where am I going again?!?

Hey Lady

Long time no hear. Where are you hiding? I hope I didnt miss a post that said you are vacationing or something. Anywho, hope all is well and we'll see you soon, right? :toetap05:

Happy Turkey Day Err'body....I know I've been missing...but not from the weight loss grind.

Just a quick update....I'm back at 233-where I was before I did the whole increase my BMR thing. Very pleased with that BUT it's been hell to get there. I did another 5k race...and shaved a lil over 4 minutes off of my time (38.08). That's with walk breaks esp. in the 3rd mile so :sifone:. Got a new running partna so he plans on kicking my butt in motion. My goal for my next 5k in Feb. is to be at 35 minutes or below.

My christmas gift to myself this year will be 3 (maybe 4)months of personal training. The trainer is very passionate about his craft so I love it.

Best of all I'm kicking butt with the 50lb weight loss challenge. Those suckas don't want none of this...hee hee..

Will check back in soon. Tysha

WOW, Tysha, you really have been doing GREAT! :D :hurray: A running partner and a personal trainer? OOOOOOWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEE!!!! :sifone:

Take care, tell us how it goes AND update your ticker! :smash:

Guys I'm so excited about life and the potential that every day carries. You know, sometimes we can become so focused on weight loss that we neglect the rest of ourselves...I mean we are body, soul and spirit...so our soul and spirit deserve just as much time and attention as our body does.

I can't even say I came to this conclusion purposefully...it just kinda happened that everything fell into place to get me where I am at this moment.

During the last few weeks I returned to the basics of what makes me Who I am....as this happened I reconnected with my best buds...my road dogs from college-HOLLA-:biggrinjester: AND I'm feeling as close to my family as ever.

My goal in life is to stand in the center of who I am...I feel as near to that center as I've ever felt. I know I'll get closer but I LOVE where I am right now....and it's not just cause I look good-which I do...but I feel so good.

Okay, enough of that...unfortunately, the running partna and the trainer didn't work out. I was really dissappointed about the trainer b/c the few times we trained together he was a great support...but he cancelled, was late or simply didn't show on me several times and always had excuses----ya' girl can't have that. I expect integrity esp. from someone I'm paying.

The running partna...our schedules just didn't mesh well. All hope isn't lost though cause I got a heart rate monitor for Christmas  and it's my new partna. Can you believe my resting heart rate is 55 beats per minute. Thats dern good!!

End of Year Accountability

I love the beginning of the new year cause I always see it as an opportunity to reflect and get better...I'm a die hard resolutionist. So, after reviewing my end of year accountability post for last year I see some improvement I thought I'd reflect on for a sec.

#1: this time last year I was between 273-278 pounds. I am now between 227-231 pounds.

#2: I wasn't getting enough calories. I had a rmr test to determine how many calories I should be taking in...I am now on track with that.

#3: My cheat days were binge days. I FINALLY, finally conquered that :svengo: it took a while this year to get that under control. It's really important for me to not be too restrictive during the week on this one.

#4: Kinda in line with the last two...I wasn't eating right...or what people call clean. During 2008 I went from fast food to frozen dinners to cooking. YES....ME...Who woulda thunk it. lol...okay...when I say cooking I'm not speaking of anything big and elaborate...think chicken breast/seafood and George Foreman grill. lmbo. But I did order a few cook books so let's see what 2009 will bring.

#5: Last year this time I had just started jogging. Now its my thing...I started with a 4.2 pace on the treadmill now I can run @ a 7.0 pace on the zombie mill. I've even taken it on the road which I love even more. I kept my promise to myself and competed in 2 5ks...shaving over 4 minutes off of my time in the 2nd race.

#6: One of my toughest challenges with running was as I called it "the two lumps of fat sitting atop my body" I know we can't spot reduce but I went from a 42DDD to a 38DD or a 40D...in fact this weekend I went to Victoria Secret with my sis and cousin..tried on a bra just on a whim...I fit it...one of the bras was too friggin big. I haven't worn a Victoria Secret bra since 1997. I didn't buy it either..won't until I'm at my goal weight (and after my breast lift). I must say though...the girls are looking better.

#7 and finally, I have a great support system which includes my online buds and the peeps in the exercise classes at the gym. I love accountability and if I miss a class I can bet on my kickboxing instructor pulling me up on my being absent. (I also appreciate you ladies for always checking in and motivating me to keep things moving).

I've started to write down my resolutions for 09...will post them soon.

Everybody have a great time bringing in the new year BE SAFE!!!

Hey Tysha! :D These are fucking great!!! You did so well last year, you're awesome and should be PROUD!!!!!!! :hurray:  Looking forward to your goals! :)

Alrighty, this year I made my resolutions in 4 categories: financial/career, soul, spiritual and body. Since this is a WLF I'll just post my "body" resolutions.

**Lose 60lbs
Plan: eat clean 5 days a week, with 2 CONTROLLED cheats days , continue to track my nutrition in my diary and cook a healthy sunday dinner for my family once a month, find a suitable personal trainer and invest in 2 full body sessions per week.

**Complete a half marathon
Plan: follow my tweaked online training schedule which gradually increases my weekly mileage.

**Complete a 5k distance outside in 30 minutes or less
Plan: Use HR monitor to track pace/distance pushing myself in someway a little more than I did in the previous session, 2 days a week of speed work (which is included in my training schedule).

**Breast Lift :hurray:
Plan: Continue saving pattern, schedule final consult and surgery once @ goal weight.

**Strengthen my core enough to complete my core challenge dvd
Plan: Every other day do 15 minutes of the dvd, perhaps more on the weekend

Just stopped by to wish you all the best for the New Year!

Hope you have a good one in which you reach all your goals, no matter how big or small!

All the best! :hug2:

Why did I dream last night that I met Hungry Girl personally...she came to my city for cooking demonstrations and I was sitting at a table with some peeps when she came by...I even think I was gonna help in the cooking demo or that she was gonna give me private lessons. bwahhh haaa haaa....:biggrinjester:

So, I told my mom I was gonna cook sunday dinner once a month this year...now I CAN'T back out of it...I reckon today's the day....with my dream and all. Will report later how it goes.

Dinner never happened. Got caught up @ my sister's place playing Wii-Fit so by the time I got over to my mom's she had already began cooking. Maybe next week?

Look @ Curvie's avatar....you are 'skin-ty'. ;0)

Yes girl I am defintely still working out. I'm following my half marathon training plan and doing some group ex classes for fun. Strength training, on the other hand...I'm so struggling in that area STILL...I keep vasilating between hiring a trainer and just trying to go solo and stay committed. I don't think I have the committment for strength training on my own so I gotta find a good trainer, that's passionate, consistent and won't charge me out the booty hole. ;0(
