my journey seems like the neverending story....

Ivette- I also hid behind my weight. It was like a protective shield. I saw a counsellor for the first time in my life 1/2 way through Cohen's & it was great to talk to a stranger. It has helped me put things into perspective. I know that I have to keep working on my self-esteem & learn to have faith in myself & to appreciate & love myself. We are all worth being loved. You have such spark that when you are at your goal weight I can see you being the life of the party. I think you already would be! It's great to feel really proud of your achievements & you will be admired more & more by your friends for sticking with this. You will also be very proud of yourself, which is much more important. Your so right Cate!! We are all worth this and I don't think I ever believed that, maybe that's why I didn't try so hard to make it a lifestyle but now I have chosen to make it a lifestyle.. I'm no where near where I want to be but it's getting closer and closer day by day.. I'm much happier and alive. I have much energy.. and for sure I love parties but know I'm starting to love myself.. Thanks for all your kind and warm support.. Hey girl!! the cohen diet is based on your blood.. So basically you go and get a blood test and they review it and give you a very strict diet based on your blood sample.. It's awesome... Its a rapid weight loss system.. If you follow it it works amazingly..:) So basically I started 7 days ago and it's been challenging but I love it... You can search the forums in here and learn more about it... :)

Thanks chickee... Yeah I'm on such a strict diet which helps a lot cuz when I see something that I'm not suppose to eat it just attacks me mentally. I'm like one bite could deviate the whole program... So yesterday was such a good day.. I did my sauna sessions.. Then I went to work it rained a lot, so much of my work was making phonecalls.. Last night was my aunts' 40th birthday and she made pasta and I didn't eat it.. She had salad so I asked for it plain and just thru vinegar and a little bit of salt and pepper it was yummy... so we all went to wish her a happy birthday..:party: and guess what?? I swear to God my whole family one by one started saying Are you losing weight?? How much have you lost??:sifone: It's happening synergy... I'm believing in myself so much that it's happening people are noticing.. I'm usually around the same faces everyday but now when I see people who haven't seen me there noticing... Omg.. And I proudly answered Yes... I am but this is only the beginning... So just imagine nextime they see me there gonna be so impressed but more than anything I'm impresed cuz now I know It's happening and this time for good..I don't think In my body you can tell as much but my face has definetely lost a chin..:smilielol5: and it even feels like it weighs less. When my face started feeling heavy I was like hell naw we got big issues Ivette.. So anyways.. That's my yesterday.. As for today I have started with 30 mins on the elliptical already done and I had 2 crackers and a cup of coffee.. I don't get too hungry in the morning so I'm saving my meals for later..

Angelica: it's all mental really?? I'm in shock at how much the brain can control... I just no what i'm suppose to eat.. It's funny when I go places and I see people hamming down like cheeseburgers and stuff I'm like omg.. that would be an automatic 5lbs.. Everything last night the past I was like oh shit all those carbs would be an automatic 3lbs.. and I'm working my ass off to be where I'm at and I'm not even half way to my goal.. this has already been like an 8 week journey.. I can't screw it up for one night.. I can't I can still socialize and have fun... You know what also helps me the diet I'm on is so strict and it says if you deviate like on 1 chip it might screw your weight loss for the week.. I'm traumatized!!!:smilielol5: :smilielol5: but chickee I'm impressed your doing wonderful :hurray::party: I know if we watch what we eat we will get there and excersize of course... Yes we will.. We are getting there.. inch by inch pound by pound... Yes!!!! Finally it's all about us.. I'm not doing it to prove it to no one this time but me.. I noticed all the other times of losing weight was to prove something.. This time it's all for me, my health, my life, my self esteem..:iagree: I can't wait.. I just can't... Like you said step by step.. we are doing this.. everyday is a positve day...:party:

Ivette, sweetie, please don't skip breakfast! Eat a meal 1 option, even if you're not hungry.
Could you eat just the low-fat (<2% fat) Natural yoghurt option? Add sweetener if you don't like the taste. I usually add a mango.
Cohen's say-
"You must leave at least 5 hours between meals. You can wait longer if you wish, but no less."
"Last meal before 9pm(or at least 2 hours before bedtime for shift workers)
This is important because HGH is released at night (during your REM Sleep Cycle) and eating too late will interfere with that process. However, even if you are running late, you must still have that meal. Never skip meals. Without protein in your system, your body cannot burn fat".
You sound so happy & it's wonderful that your family are noticing your weight-loss & being positive. I bet you radiate happiness!

Cate: Your so right about breakfast.. I didnt notice that I had to seperate my meals by 6 hours.. Now I went back and reread my little guide to understand better.. Theres a few things I have been doing wrong not major but I need to follow it a lot better and I am for sure... Thanks for the reminder..:grouphug:

I can't wait luxie for 3 months.. I already for see whats gonna happen... Wooooooooooohoooooooooooooooo!!!!:party: It's gonna be insane.. This is really happening.. I love it!!! I'm excited and amazed at my mini accomplishments but how much I really have tried this time...:party:

Noticed that your ticker has moved. Awesome! 12.4 pounds lost is a huge accomplishment, considering that at one time it was always gaining a little weight at a time.

As for those breakfasts, I have noticed that I do lose weight faster when I eat something small for breakfast. It "turns on" the metabolism. For breakfast, I have cottage cheese and a few slices of sharp cheddar. Sometimes, I'll have some grilled chicken that I saved from the day before. That usually does the trick. You'd be surprised at the difference it makes. :)

I'm amazed- there are so many different kinds of diets out there on this forum. You're doing the cohen's, I'm doing the weight scale thing & zigzagging, others are plain exercising and exercising, others are on the Atkins diet, and whatever.. Yet, they're all successful if one stays dedicated to "the art" of the diet. Call yourself a Cohen Artist- "Cohenvette"! :D To come think of it, at the end of it all, you'll be an expert on the Cohen diet topic.
