My Journey: Positive Outlook For 2013

Yay on the loss! You have really picked up by the sounds of things, that's great!

Great pics, there's been an orca in the Wellington harbor (my home city in NZ) a couple of times recently.

Nostalgic, yes I'm definitely back now. It's a great feeling! :)

~~

Got another great workout in last night. I have to say it feels really good to be back on top of this. Hopefully I can remember this feeling so I don't fall off the wagon again!

The scale was weird this morning. I always weigh myself until I get 3 identical readings. It was all over the place today!! When I first got on it, it said 202.6lb. I was excited to see that number, but felt it was probably too good to be true. After several times it finally gave me 203.8 three times so that's what I went with for today's weight. It did give me 199.8 once though. I have to say, seeing that number, while not accurate, was very exciting! :)

Scales are funny that way. I weighed myself once before and after a shower (with wet hair and a towel) and it was I think a couple lbs difference. With my clothing on vs nekkid it was about 3.5 lbs!!! But this morning...first thing 143, went to the bathroom and then it was 144...WTF? In a matter for a few minutes, was odd and not very nice :(

Hope you see that 199.8 for real very soon!

Congrats on getting back at it. :) You're getting good at this weight loosing business. 199.8 is only a small step away, hope you reach it soon.

Congratulations!! Everyone is right... 199.8 isn't far away! You'll be there before you know it!! But until then, you're still doing an amazing job!!!!

Icychic – it is so frustrating how the scales work. It shouldn’t be so difficult to get an accurate weight, especially when you pay $35 for a scale! Argh!

Foepsie – thanks for stopping bye! I know ~200lb is going to be here soon. I can feel it! :)

Belinda – Thanks! :)

Br!na – Thank you, I’m trying! :)

So this afternoon was my early day from work so I was able to get a workout in earlier than usual. I decided to mix things up and tried a new Taebo DVD – This is Taebo. I had tried it once before, but gave up about 10 min in because I just couldn’t keep up. Today, I made it through the whole thing. There were a few moves I didn’t do out of fear I’d mess up my knees, but overall I did a great job I think. OMG… what a workout it was! The thing that I really liked about this DVD is that Billy Blanks did several arm moves to work your biceps and triceps. The other videos that I do don’t do much in that area. It was a nice change of pace even though it kicked my ass! LOL

Now… the scale...

I decided since I had such a rough time this morning getting 3 accurate readings, I’d try again tonight. I just wanted to see if it had any consistency. It was all over the place again! How in the world does this happen? I changed the batteries to see if that was the issue, but it didn’t help one bit. Here are the readings as I weighed myself. This is 100% serious… no jokes…

199.2
196.8
198
201.2
197.6
199.8
195.4
197.2
200.6
199.6
196.2
197.6
199
198
198

So, going by THESE numbers, the weight I would be taking based on it coming up three times is 198lb – and this is after eating my dinner (steak and potato). So maybe it’s possible that my earlier weight this morning of 199.8lb could have been accurate. Maybe tomorrow will go better. Maybe tomorrow it will be confirmed that I’m officially in ONEderland!

WAHOOOO ONDERLAND!!!

I always weigh myself a few times in the morning and try to take the most repeated one as accurate. But i stilll get giddy over the low ones and bummed over the high ones haha. Sometimes the fluctuations are ridiculous! On the weekend I went from 189.5 to 195.... 5.5 pounds in one day?! For realz? Even if you know its not really reflective of your progress its aggravating! Show me the low numbers!!! Lol

Congratulations on going below 200 lbs Mandy! :) (Even though is not 100% official)

You are doing extraordinarily well and the weight is coming off nicely.

I've been absent for a bit and haven't been able to read the last entries of your diary on detail, but I just wanted to congratulate you with the weight. :)

Good luck and take care!
:grouphug:

Slickzchik - Not quite at onderland yet, but soon I should be. Very soon I think! :)

Athala - Thanks, I'm not losing as fast as I would like, but every little bit is adding up so I'm taking it as it goes. :)

Ok... so my I think it may my scales TOM or something. LOL This morning went much smoother weighing in. It only took 4 tries to get 3 identical numbers. First two tries was 203.8lb (same that I took yesterday), the 3rd was 204lb, and then the 4th was 203.8 again. So, it appears I'm not in Onderland just yet, but I honestly wasn't expecting it so I'm ok with it. :)

I was really hoping for that 198 for you!! But either way, you're doing a wonderful job!!!

I wonder if our scales are all conspiring against us?? Mine has been so crazy lately as well. I paid $25 for mine. It's a Health-O-Meter. It's supposed to be as accurate as the Drs scales. But I hate it! I'm going to try and talk Melissa into letting me by another scale soon. Even though this one is new. I think I want one of those that's not electric... Maybe that would work better!

Congrats on getting through the new tae-bo! I have a couple of his vhs tapes. But I never really got into them. They were too hard!! So, my hat's off to you!!!! :)

Slickzchik - I've felt "good" before, but right now I don't think I've ever felt THIS good. I know I'm going to be below 200 soon. :)

Br!na - I honestly had no idea what taebo was. I just did a search for exercise videos on Youtube and stumbled across it. I loved it instantly. At first I was pissed because I had such a hard time getting the moves right, but with each attempt I could feel myself getting better and better and then I started seeing results. I really do love it! :)

~~

So I recently decided that Thursday's were going to be my rest day. Well, tonight I was actually trying to talk myself out of exercising! Finally I said the hell with, popped my DVD in, and went at it. I did the same workout as yesterday. I did better, but still had a hard time with some of the moves and skipped on a couple altogether to protect my knees and ankles. This time I wore my heart rate monitor watch just to get a feel for the calories I'm burning. I ended at 830 calories and I was drenched. Definitely a good workout. :)

I think part of the reason I'm working harder now is because I recently connected with an old friend who I had feelings for many years ago. He friended me on Facebook. His profile says he's single, and so am I. Part of me wants to look and feel better when/if we meet up. We haven't spoken much just yet, but I'm hoping we'll get there. Part of me is very anxious when it comes to guys and dating. I'm hoping with more weight loss and confidence that'll change too.

Mandy, keeping that positive attitude will have a big impact on your progress. I'm sure you'll be below 200 in no time if you keep that bright outlook :)

Belinda - I'm definitely sticking with it this time. No more negativity. No more slacking off. I'm doing this for me! :)

Br!na - Thanks! We were really close friends back in the day and he did eventually ask me out, but I was so young and inexperienced back then that I freaked out and said no. Then we lost touch for a while. Recently I got to thinking about him and wondering how he was doing. Then out of the blue he friends me on FB. It was pretty surreal. There must be a master plan in the works. I just have to wait and see how it all plays out. :)

Well, today's my 3rd day in a row at 203.8. I've had these funks happen before so I'm not going to stress over it. Just gonna keep on doing what I'm doing. Sooner or later the scale will catch up to me. :)

Stalls are no fun and can be maddening, but just work through it and you'll see the scale moving in the right direction in no time :)

I have faith in that Belinda! :)

Tonight I was going to skip working out. I just felt exhausted and my arms were sore from the last couple of workouts, but I know I won't have time for it tomorrow so I got changed and did it. My HRM watch says 847 calories burned and yesterday said 830 so I'd say it's a pretty good workout. I have to say I think this is my favorite taebo DVD now. It goes by so fast and I absolutely love the arm toning action.

Anywho... I had a great night with a great day planned for tomorrow. I'll be heading out onto the ocean. The season ends at the end of this month and with the way the fall weather is here any day could really be the last. I'll be so sad when it's over, but there's not much I can do about it other than to just soak it all in now. :)

I said this on the Challenge thread, but still, congrats on the new low, Mandy! Keep up that hard work and you'll see ONEderland in no time!
