You can call me whatever you want. Brad, Fish, Dude, Guy... I'm not too picky.
I've been busy as hell lately. I've had a few moments here and there to check out some of the other diaries but not enough to really write up much in here and since nothing was really going on I wasn't too worried about it.
I haven't been making it to the gym, but I've been keeping up with the diet and the regular walking. The gym thing just wasn't working out when I was going (between 5-6). I didn't finish one single workout before running out of time. Too many people, too much waiting for weights or a bench.
Next week I'm going to try something new. The gym opens at 6am. I'm going to try going then. I can go to the gym for 6am and come into work an hour late, but then I'll just make up for that by coming in an hour earlier two days/week.
This sort of sucks because now instead of getting up at 5am twice/week, it's getting up at 5am four times/week. The two days I hit the gym, and the two days I have to come in early to make up that time.
I'm also thinking about changing up my routine. I found an interesting routine on StrongLifts.com. The 5x5 program. I think I'm going to give it a go and see what happens. It's all compound movements (bench, squats, deadlifts, overhead presses) with a barbell, no machines. So next week is (hopefully) going to be the start of that routine.
In the meantime, as I've said, I've been keeping up with my regular half hour minimum walk. I've gone on a couple hour+ hikes with the dog through some nice wooded areas around our place and some sprinting with him along the way.
I'm thinking of buying a bike to take into those areas on my own and to vary my exercise. I enjoy biking much, especially riding trails so I figure, why the F' not.
My diet for the past week (avg daily): 2000 17f/52c/32p
Daily calorie goal is between 1900-2100 so obviously that's in line. That said, despite maintaining the diet and the regular/varied exercise lately I'm still in the 192.x range (low end). My bodyfat % numbers are improving though... we'll see if they continue that way. They're very volatile from day-to-day so I don't get too excited until I see the averaged #s from week-to-week.
So that's where I'm at! Thanks to all for checking in and keeping me in line. Much needed and appreciated!

I remember biking in my twenties and it wasn't a good ride unless you came back bleeding! (tree branches to the face, mud slung up your back from the back tire, the total feeling of freedom as you careen down an impossible hill) Totally makes you feel like a kid again. Go for it.
