My "eating healthy" diary finally...

Hey there girl, just wanted to get in my two cents :). IMHO, slipping in something unhealthy once in a while is good for your sanity and your diet. Maybe on days when you feel like going wrong, or you've gone and had a few drinks, you can plan to eat something "bad" but plan ahead that you'll allow yourself the treat but you have to minimize the damage (such as getting veggies rather than sausage on the pizza and limiting it to 2 slices, or ordering one of the very few healthy things on a Chinese menu, such as steamed chicken, but then throw in one unhealthy fatty thing like an egg roll (which doesn't end up being so bad as a whole order of the greasy stuff they make). Its hard to go from eating junk lots to going completely healthy all at once.

Honestly is ok for me during the week, but at a weekends, thats the worst time, expecially if i would stay in and decide to do nothing just relax, so first thought pop into my mind would be food, something tasty, thats when i slip in:(, but now i decided that i just have to keep my self busy all the time for the first time on my diet, so i wont think of food constantly:)
I was very good this weekend, although i had few glasses of wine, but still didn't go over my daily calorie intake. Eeehaaa!!!
I have lost 3 pounds since my start, which is something, when i thought i would have put on:)
i'm siting one of my exams this saturday, so i was busy studying and getting ready for that.

Ye that book is very good, i found out about it on this site:)
Its very easy to follow, and have so many tips, i would advise this book to anyone

So here comes another week...:)
Today:
Br - 2 brown bread toast + herbal tea
Snack - Apple
Lunch - Irish Stew(lamb, onions, carrots, potatoes) with veggies
Snack: Weights watchers chocolate bar
Dinner: Salad(lettuce+tomato+peppers+shpinach) + tuna(canned chunks)
I would have a pint of water with every meal.

Hey Marina, I'm also absolutely the worst on the weekends or when I'm working from home. I'm always hungry and thinking of food when at home! Yesterday I had a bit of a mini binge--eeeeeeeeeeek! I'm so upset but I plan on heading to the gym and eating really well today to try to minimize the damage. I'm always starting fresh after coming off a bad weekend and this is totally my downfall to losing those last pesky pounds LOL. Onward!

Weekends are hard. When I feel the urge to binge I go and do some form of exercise. Interestingly my hunger is always gone after a good exercise session,.
Keeping busy sounds like a good plan!!

I hope you r all well today too, i nearly overslept this morning:eek:. i have to admit i speep so mush better tighter than before i start weight loss diet!!!
I feel better, and even its been only 2 weeks my pants already fit better!!!Yay!!
Anyway here is my today intake:
Br: Yogurt and green tea
Snack: Almonds
Lunch: Chicken fillet + whol meal pasta + cabbage and carrots
Snack: Tea
Dinner: Green beans + broccoli+broiled cod

Hi everyone,
yay its friday!!:) I had a really hard week, sitting exam tomorrow, dreading although i am ready, but i always get so nervous don't know why...
Anyway after this i'm going straight away to my friends baby shower really looking forward to it, already told my friend i'm on a diet so she will have plenty of greens salads and fruits for me there, yay!! I just want to try not to cheat this weekend:) I moght have some beers, like coors lite, but thats the extend of it.... hopefully:)
So today i'll have:
Br: 2 brown bread toasts with teaspoon marmalade + tea
Snack: yogurt + tea
Lunch: Whole meal pasta + tuna + side salad with low fat itallian dressing
Snach: a handfull of almonds
Dinner: Brussell sprouds + one medium jacket potato + pork loin lean meat only grilled
2L of water daily:)
Its only have been 2 weeks but i can see a bit of improvements already so exited,

I'm from Dublin too and have also been doing it for 2 weeks!! I find weekends hard too, but am determined to make it work this time! I find only having healthy foods around is helpful (like special k bars, fruit, nuts) but its hard when your out and about! Sounds like your doing great though!

Congrats on starting weight loss, this forum gives me lots and lots of motivation also on weekends i go to weight watchers meetings for even more motivation:) I've tried so many times before, but this time i am soooo gonna do this!!! So will all of us here:))

Well everyone, how was your weekend?

Well beginning of the 3rd week:)
Feel great:) Lost another kilo for the past week, which is absolutely amaizing due to my cheat meal weekends:)
I had a bigmac saturday on its own, but next morning went for a long power walk, so its not that bad:))
Anyway today:
Br: 2 Brown bread toas with teaspoon of jam + herbal tea no sugar
Snack: Banana
Lunch: Rice with beef stew
Snack: Apple
Dinner: Wrap with chicken and greens and teaspoon of sweet and sour sauce
Before going to bed a hadfull og grapes

here i am again, didn't post for a good bit now, was away too busy with work exams and stuff.
Was very good with my diet untill my friend came over to stay with me I haven't seen her in ages for a week last week!! So I took a week off as well and that was the week I ate everything I wanted and surely not the healthy food, not at all..... After all my effords and loosing my 1st stone in a month I put half of it back after that week, was so angry with myself, such a waste, but hey I'm back on track and this time no slip offs, well I hope!!!
Anyway today:

Br - Green tea with teaspoon of honey + toas + teaspon of jam
Snack: Yogurt
Lunch - Tuna + greens salad + pint water
Snack - pint water
Dinner - Salmon fillet + brown rice + tomato + pint water
Before bed - Carrot and apple

Oh that work is piling on me, thank God its Xmas holiday coming, so much needed rest:)
Any way here is my today's food intake:

Snack: yogurt nonfat (132) + tea unsweatened(2) + Rice cakes(27x3=81)
Lunch: Salmon fillet boiled(206) + Broccoli 1 cup(46) + carrots 1 cup(31)
Snack: Handfull of almonds(364)
Dinner: Mixed greens salad(75) + turkey breast skinless grilled(111)
Before bed: handfull of cranberries(46)
Total: 1246 cal

I know its a bit low, but i had to cut on carbs, as my birthday is this saturday and I bought a lovely pair of white trousers with nice top which were a bit tight couple weeks ago but they do fit perfect now:):party:

Here I am again, and Happy New Year Everyone!!!
Thank God this festive season is over:) I've cheated a lot lately, but here I go again!! I have put back on 5 kg!!! I hate myself for being so weak and not able to say no to all that fatty food during Xmas and New Years:cuss:
Anyway My New Years resolutions are:
1. Loose 30kg till July thats when I'm going on holliday and want to look good in a bikini:)
2. Give up smoking, I'm not that addicted to them so shouldn't be that hard, well hopefully

So here is my food intake today:

Breakfast: Whole boiled egg - 75cal + yogurt - 110cal
Lunch: White Rice 1cup - 170cal+steamed vegetables 1 cup - 41cal + dark chocolate 50 gr - 200cal + chicken fillet in butter - 276cal
Dinner: mixed diced cucumber, tomato, cauliflower - 70cal
+ herb dressing 2 tbsp - 82cal + sardines canned in brine - 140cal

Snack before bed: cranberries - 62

Total: 1227 cal

I'm back to my diary and to my weight loss journey! had been busy at work and with studying but still tried to keep to healthy eating as I have decided for myself it's not going to be a diet per se it'll be my new way of living a healthy way of living:)
So I'm currently at 77kg(169 approx) my short term goal now is my birthday 14th December 2008 want to get down to 60kg(135)
So its 12 weeks and 34 pounds to loose meaning I have to loose at least 2.5 pounds per week....
Today i had:
Br: 2 fried eggs (150) and 10 cockles (20) tsp low fat mayo (56)
Snack: Penut butter 2 tbsp (200)
Lunch: Cod buttered (249), tomato(24) and cottage cheese(71)
Snack: Low fat brie cheese (84)
Dinner: Mixed greens salad(67), low fat italian dressing (54), cod (249)
Snack: Radishes (14)
Total: 1238cal
 
Br: 3 fried eggs with tsp of olive oil (180) mayo (67)
Snack: natural low fat yogurt (94) camomile tea
Lunch: cod fillet (249) tbsp cottage cheese (71) tomato (24)
Snack: low fat brie cheese (81)
Dinner: Chichen fillet (190) mixed greens salad (67) with low fat italian dresing (56)
Snack: 20 Almonds (180)
TOTAL: 1259cal
 
Weighted my self today and yay another pound down 167 now.
Feeling great even though I got lost going on at a moment:)
Anyways today:
Walk to work 1,5 hours at about 3 miles an hour

Snack: cheese brie low fat (57) camomile tea
Lunch: chicken fillet (260) tomato (22)

are you doing atkins? i noticed no carbs (rice, potato, etc) , but other than that , pretty good/healthy choices!!! keep up the good work.

Well I'm not really on Atkins but I do limit my carb intake, usually at a weekend I make soups and would make then with lentils, beans odd times small bit potato. I tried Atkins before like 20g carb a day most, but I kind of felt lightheaded during the day so I increased carb intake.
so today:
Br: 2 whole eggs (175), mayo (56)
Snack: natural low fat yogurt (102), camomile tea
Lunch: vegetable soup (120) br bread (86)
Snack: Almonds (150)
Dinner: Chicken fillet buttered (249) cut up tomato and cucumber (65), low fat italian dressing (34)
Snack: Olives (40)
TOTAL: 1177cal,
 
Was very good at a weekend, didn't cheat or anything even suprised that i didn't but this time I really have it in my mind that I don't need those cheat meals and that I eat for living and I don't live for eating! :)
Br: 3 egg whites (35) slice of ham (76) tbsp dressing (56) olive oil (119)
Snack: raspberries 125g (65) green tea
Lunch: cottage cheesea cup (163)
Snack: Almonds 20 (164)
Dinner: Green Cabbage salad (106), chicken filler boiled (154)
Snack: Melon (94)
TOTAL: 1132cal + I'll add another 100cal as i take Omega Oils capsules and vitamines so its 1232cal in total
