My E-Diary

Calories for today - around 1300
Once again, sodium levels way to high - 2700mg again, whats giving me all this sodium?

Total weight loss for this week - 9 pounds and a half which im pleased with, just hoping i can keep up a similar amount every week.

Hello and welcome to the forum. The website you are logging your food in should break down which foods are higher in sodium but pretty much anything packaged will be high - especially soups. Ham also has a lot of sodium in it. Low fat crisps probably have a high content also - just read the labels and you will see where it is adding up.
There is no way to keep up losing 9 pounds a week - I don't want to discourage you but even biggest loser members don't realistically lose that much and they are working out 24/7. It takes 3500 calories to gain a pound or lose a pound so you would need to burn 31,500 calories every week to keep that up. Think about how much you are burning when you jog for 40 minutes - maybe 400 calories and if you are eating at a deficit of 600 calories a day you might lose a pound (1 pound) every 3-4 days. This is the healthy way to do it.
This past week you lost water weight which happens to everyone the first week they start moving more and eating healthier - you are probably drinking more water now than you did before too.
Keep it up and it will come off - one day at a time.

Congrats on your weight loss thus far, but as Chubbygirl pointed out, don't get your hopes up for next week :( You'll still do fine though, I bet. I think its awesome you could make a dinner out of just fruits I couldn't do that.

Black Ops looks really good but I'm working on Fallout: New Vegas right now (though its mostly a rehash of part 3) with the limited time I have to actually sit there and play video games. I haven't logged into Warcraft for almost two months and I'm 25 lbs lighter xD.

Hey ^_^ Don't want to be a bubble burster but was looking at your foods and calories and after your Indian you said you'd had around 1300 calories. I *love* Indian food and have researched calories in all the food and know that the average naan is 550 calories and chicken tikki masala with rice is around 1300! Just wanted to check you're using a good site to log your calories into! I always get the calories for stuff wrong so I'm always hunting around on the net for averages!

Anyway, I agree with what chubbygirl said--You've done AWESOME but the losses will get smaller as you get smaller ;)

(Also, huge gamer girl here! Let me know how new Call of Duty is--unsure of whether to get it as it's not my thing really!) xx

Thanks for all the advice guys, yeah i know its mostly water weight and im not going to lose nearly as much from now on but its still nice to say "ive lost 10 pounds!" :D

I got my copy of Black Ops for the PC but Activision hasnt given Steam the rights to activate at midnight so us PC gamers are stuck till the morning... what a bummer!
I too have New Vegas but Black ops comes higher priority on my list :D I used to play WoW too but quit that a year ago..

Diary for Wednesday:

First thing i ate was at lunch time, i had 1 low fat ham sandwich, 1 babybel, a special k bar and a pack of low fat crisps. Dinner time i couldnt realy be bothered to cook much so i just threw a couple packs of super noodles on the stove, went out jogging at 10pm (freezing now outside) and did 20mins jogging then that pain on my right side chest kicked in and i walked home... I then had a banana as a snack, am about to have a shower then hit the hay! :D

Dude, chest pains can be very serious. However, it can also just be a sign of your body rebelling against the new routine. You should have it checked out anyhow.

Down to 19 stone 10 now, but i dont trust my electirc scales im using, so im going into town to use there proper scales every week for a more accurate reading :)

Hello, I've just been reading your diary and thought I say hi and show some support :)

I think you're making a great effort, and that's going to get you to your goal. I love this forum, because you can take tips from here and there and get the right plan for you.

My tip for you is low fat cottage cheese, it's my new 'holy grail' of weight loss! Lol it's got loads of protein and hardly and carbs or fat and it fills you up while being really tasty!

Keep up the great work dude!

Jess :)

Ah my dear boy, you don't seem to be able to give up those ham sandwiches and low fat potato chips. You need to really be careful with those because it adds up and pretty soon you be might facing a nasty surprise on the scale vis-a-vis water retention. It usually clears up in a few days but its pretty disheartening to see +5 on the scale when you've worked so hard. (been there, done that) And I probably don't have to tell you about how sodium is linked to high blood pressure :)

The lovely Jess is absolutely right about cottage cheese, learn to love it. Hope everything turns out ok for your check up.
Check ya later.

Hey jess thanks for the support! not thought about the cottage cheese, will have to pick some up next time im at the shop and slap it on a jacket potatoe! :)

Hey again Daybehavior, yeah i like my ham sandwich's, its low fat waffer thin ham so i didnt think it was that bad for me, but it does contain alot of sodium as far as i can tell. The low fat crisps are only 2g of fat per bag, is that too much? babybel cheese have over 4g of fat each! only found that out last night so might give them a miss from now on.

Thanks for the input guys! :)

Diary for saturday:

Got up at 8am, went to help my grandmother move a bunch of new furniture around her house, had lunch at 12, first thing eaten of the day, I had a ham sandwich and a banana. Dinner we had a nice steak with diced potatoes with this amazing sauce on them, later on i had a pack of king prawns with some vinigar as a snack.

Diary for sunday:

First thing I ate was at 1pm, I had 1 banana, 1 apple and a pack of low fat crisps. I went out with some friends in the evening and they dragged me to a curry house so I had a chicken vindaloo and a naan bread and thats it for the day.

Oh you English and your Indian food :p

Did you do your weigh in for this week yet? I lost one measly pound. Wanted to throttle the scale, I looked over my calorie log and averaged around 1900 and went to the gym everyday for 1 hr or more. Avoided sodium wherever possible all week...god I hope I haven't plateau'd yet.

No i was meaning to be got side tracked, will try and go before work today and post it when i get back :) 1 pound is still a result! beter -1 then +1 keep it up!

No breakfast? For SHAME!
Breakfast is incredible. I stopped eating breakfast for a long time as well (along with probably half the people I knew), but started eating it again as a way of balancing my ideal food intake for the day.
I find that breakfast keeps me fuller than either lunch OR dinner; it's such timely fuel.

Best of luck to you.

Hey SoCoSideshow!

Yeah im not realy a breakfast person, i dont usualy get up till around 10-11 am tho due to my shifts so i just go straight for lunch and when im on mornings i get up at 4.30am and cant eat that early! so i then eat 'lunch' at 10.30am at work, ive never liked cereal and toast so i just eat like sandwiches and stuff instead, but i just got some special k peach and apricot cereal to try and its amazing! so will be munching on that for lunch/snacks from now on :D

Diary for Monday:

Had lunch as my first meal at 12.30pm, had a ham salad sandwich with a banana. Then for dinner i took a salad into work with some chopped chicken and a bit of salad cream along with a muller light, banana and a special k bar. I bought a low fat caeser dressing to try with my salads but it was FOUL! should i stick with normal caeser dressing or try find an alternative low fat dressing? Later on after work for a snack i had a bowl of special k cereal and a muller light.
