My dairy

217 today, about to go exercise.

That's 24 lbs lost! I was watching the program the doctors the other day, and they said losing 10% of your body weight can help with things such as high blood pressure, and reduce risks for other things. 24 lbs is 10% of 241 (my starting weight)

I had high blood pressure when I was that weight, I wonder if I still have it? I bet the weight loss has at least helped it.

I've been wondering where everyone is...maybe I need to reach out to other people more. I hardly get anyone posting on my diary anymore, and I miss that. When I started I used to see alot more people post..but not anymore. I miss confuzzledwife, I heard she was diagnosed with lyme disease and her son is sick, I hope everything works out for her. I haven't seen her update her diary in awhile. Is KaraCooks mad at me for being so lazy? Hmm...:(

Not mad. :)

Just really really really really (really) busy. Things are picking up at work, I'm working on some client projects for my business, I'm dealing with some legal issues from someone who won't pay me for the work I did for him and is being an ass about it (my lawyer is sucking up all my disposable income and then some - but hopefully I'll get it back in the end), and the list goes on and on.

Plus, with the weather getting cooler, I'm trying to spend more time outside doing stuff rather than sitting in front of the computer. I'm being lazy about updating my own journal - much less visiting anyone elses! :)

Hey Kara, hope everything gets fixed and your legal issues turn out ok.

I'm looking for a job myself and I wish I could go outside and do more stuff, like play basketball, but I have no friends in real life. I need to go out and meet people.

Hey! Wow- already down to 217! That's amazing.. I need to get back on track with my exercise .. with everything else going on here, I haven't been exercising like I should.. and I can already feel it. Although I haven't gained anything, my stomach is feeling and looking bloated again, I know it's from lack of exercise. I NEED to get myself moving again!! You're a great inspiration to me!!

It's good you haven't gained anything, at least keep your nutrition in check, I bet from just eating right alone you might be able to lose some weight.

We all go through hard times, so I understand. Glad to hear back from you.

Can't fucking sleep...this is terrible. And it's 2:38, stayed in bed for hours trying to sleep with no luck. Was planning on getting up today at 4:55 to go running again, looks like that's not going to happen. I may go running tonight when its cooler, that is, IF it gets cooler here in arizona at night today. I've noticed a huge difference in my stamina when its not crazy hot outside..so I'm sticking with that. I'm going to try to catch up with my sleep today, if its too hot out at night I won't go running, and I'm taking the next day off (thursday) regardless (exercising)

So it as cool outside and I decied to run again, (still doing week 2 couch 2 5k, whats wrong with me? Why is this so hard?)

At the end of every 90 seconds, I was literally gasping for air. I couldn't breath. I'm so out of shape. At the end of all the intervals, and still right now I have a sharp running pain in my side. I notice it happens when I push myself. Today I decided to push myself a little harder, running faster to get my speed up. I don't see how people get this 'runners high', because frankly I feel sick and like throwing up. Quite the opposite from a 'high'. I don't see how I can do over 2 minutes, let alone 5 minutes straight! (Week 3)

Oh well, having fish for dinner.

Went to the gym today...what a wreck. I go in and there's an old man sitting there at the desk, wearing no shoes or socks. So he said I could take a tour, I check out the weight room. It's small, dark, cramped, only 1 person in there. There's a few cardio machines and one CRT tv above it, not even turned out. Not very appealing.

The pool and hot tub was even worse, it was hot and humid in there, it smelled, and the water was murky in both.

No thank you, not joining. Apparently if you join for $50 for the first month you get a 1 hour personal trainer (1x), a fitess assessment and assess to the pool, spa, hot tub and weight room. No thank you. Just not very appealing. The place looked like a dump, inside and out.

Breakfast:
Subway chicken teriyaki sub, loaded with veggies

GRRR! I am angry, very angry.

I gained a lb! this is the first time I've gained a lb...I hope its water weight. But i doubt it.
It was probably from those past 2 or so days I took off. I'm 218 now.

I did my 30 minutes of strength training on the wii....and was going to do the stationary bike but waiting for it now to cool down and go running. I finished the running. Woohoo

Didn't eat breakfast either, I woke up too late.

Lunch:
Jack in the box salad (581)
Large diet dr.pepper (0)

A couple tortilla chip rounds (About 7) with very small amounts of cheese and salsa tomatoes
Pinto beans on the side. A small corn tortilla (the kind you see at El Pollo loco), with lean chicken, hot salsa, beans, and a small amount of cheese.

No idea on the calories here, I'm guessing 750.

Yikes, woke up today at 3 pm. Stayed up wayy too late. Gotta eat something and then do my 30 minutes of strength training + hour on stationary bicycle.

I did it though, I finally broke out of my 217. I'm now 216. 25 lbs lost so far.
I'm beginning to notice my shoulder muscles, HELL yes! Will post a pic later today..basically 2 big lumps of muscle on my shoulder's which really stand out..must be from all those push ups.

Breakfast:
Orange glazed chicken (Eating right frozen dinner): (300)
Spinach (19)
Carrots (35)
Celery with hummus (19 + 80)
Gala Apple (74)
Total: 527

Dinner:
We went out to the store and bought some stuff. Mainly apples and this really good smoked lean turkey sausage. 3 grams of fat per serving, 100 calories. Not bad, but probably full of sodium.
We took some whole wheat bread, some low fat/low calorie spread (to grease the pan so it wouldn't stick), some lean turkey sausage and some jalopeno cheese (full fat unfortunately), and made little crispy sandwiches. They are pretty small, but I had 4.
So that's 2 slices of bread, about 2 oz of cheese, and about 1 serving of turkey sausage, (100 cal)
The low calorie spread had 50 cals
I also had some salad greens with it.
My only downfall is my mom made these butterscotch toffee/chocolate things. Basically layered chocolate, butterscotch on crackers and brown sugar in it. Really bad for you. I convinced my dad to take them to his work tomorrow, because I've already eaten about 4 small pieces.
2 slices whole wheat bread (220)
2 oz of cheese (220)
Turkey (100)
Spread (50)
Butterscotch stuff (300)
Greens (10)
Total: 900

Spark, just read through your whole blog. You have made great progress and it's great that you have stuck to it for this long! That is my biggest problem is I have a problem sticking to my diet/exercise plans and end up quitting them a few days in. You are an inspiration to me though and I'll keep up with your journal entries :)

Oh and you live in Arizona too? Aren't you loving the cooler weather (finally!)?

You read through the whole thing? Wow, thank you, I appreciate it. Especially now its harder to go through it because not many people post on my journey like they used to...we can support each other.

Yes I live in Mesa, arizona. Today was so nice outside, it was amazing. This is especially good for me because I can sleep in and not have to worry about getting up in the morning when its cooler (4:50 in the morning) to go running. I can run anytime now..now if I could just get my lower ankle pain to go away, dull ache still hurts after i run.

I'm still on week 2 of couch 2 5k..I'm thinking about trying week 3 soon, but going from 90 seconds running to 5 minutes is a big jump for it, I think I'm going to stick with week 2 for awhile until it becomes easier, then tackle week 3.

What part of arizona do you live?

Yeah so since I woke up so late I kinda put off excerise until late at night..

Finished the 30 minutes of strength training on the Wii.

About to do an hour of cardio on the stationary bike

1 hour on cardio on stationary bike is done...although I probably didn't burn too much calories.

After that I ran to the mail box and back to get my mail. Gonna run tomorrow

Went running/walking today for 31 minutes (Couch 2 5k program week 2)

What a workout. Hard stuff...

Taking the next 2 days off. Then I will continue after the 2nd day off, so that's still 5 days a week. (Counting the 3rd when I started again).

Good news, I measured my waist again and I'm now a size 44. I started size 48, so lost 4 inches on the waist so far. The good thing about this is now I can go into any store and pick out clothes that will fit.
