M2M do you feel you lack discipline because you didn't have a lot of parental guidance during your free time as a child?
I guess I would answer that question differently, at different times in my life. There was a time, during early college, where :::cough:::cough::: I was a bit undisciplined
And since then, there's my weight, and eating habits that are undiciplined (correction - WAS undiciplined)

But overall, I feel that the lack of parental guidance during my free time as a child gave me independence, capability and autonomy that our overly scheduled and chaufered children of today lack. I worry that our kids (speaking generically here) will not know how to really handle themselves once they get alone time as they move into middle to late teens, because they were so coddled for so long.
It's a tough, catch-22 situation.
My mom died when she was 48. I would have given all my independence, capability and autonomy away in heart beat to have had her in my life more then snippits in the evenings and weekends.
I am one of those over scheduling, chauffering, stay at home, homeschooling moms because I would have wanted my mom there before she died, discipline or no discipline.
(sorry for rambling on so!)
And Pineola, let go about the day you over did it - put it behind you and move on, each day is a brand new day to make healthier choices that bring you closer to your goals!
You CAN do this
