Mrs Bear's Diary

You are doing amazing with your biking! I managed to go as far as 30 miles a couple of times last September, but I'm not ready to go nearly that far yet. I would be happy if I could make your 14 miles that you did the other day!

Hey Val. 30 miles!! That is fab, and I am sure you will build back up to that in no time at all.

It is surprising how rapidly your fitness level drops. I did some cycling a couple of months ago and built up to 14 miles, and it actually felt good when I got back. Then I took a couple of weeks off and when I started again, I was shattered doing 8 miles. I have built back up to 14 miles and I am hoping that I can keep it going this time, even if I fall off the diet wagon.

Diet-wise, I have decided to join one of those 'Fitday' type websites to monitor my food intake. I have gone for Weight Loss Resources, which is a UK website. I looked on Fitday, but it is more geared towards american foods and not UK supermarkets. I am hoping it will help because I do approximate calories and I don't always measure my food, and also when I do splurge I can put everything down and see exactly how much I have had. Also it has a nutrition pie chart which will help me have a balanced diet. It isn't free like Fitday, but its only £9 a month, which isn't bad at all.

I'm feeling positive still, despite my slip ups. And as upsetting as not being pregnant is, atleast I know I have a minimum of 4 weeks to try and stop binging, so that I am not tempted to fill my body with rubbish when I am pregnant. ;)

sorry

I'm really sorry for your loss, because I know that is what it feels like when you get your period - again. I spent a lot of years feeling so depressed every time - like I was stuck standing in this horrible line and everyone else just kept getting to cut in front of me and it was never going to be my turn. I wrote you a big reply on PCOS in my diary. You should definitely have that checked out because there are a LOT more treatments than there used to be. Oh, and make sure when you go in, they make an appointment to check your husband's sperm, too. No sense wasting a lot of time getting you fixed up only to find out later he had a problem, too. (Happened to me.) I'll be praying for you!

Thanks for everything Twinmom :) , I have put a reply in your diary.

Okay, today has been good. I felt terrible first thing this morning after binging yesterday, but as the day went on I felt better. I did overtime today (should have been my day off!!) and I was in the posh area of Clevedon, going up and down hills on my bike, and I was even inspired enough to trot up about half of the driveways. I delivered Betterware catalogues aswell, but no bike ride today. It was way to hot ..... about 29 degrees C which is too hot for me. We're just not used to it in the UK.

Food-wise, I've done well. According to Weightloss Resources, I've had just short of 1900 cals (and they have set my target at just under 2000). I had porridge for breakfast, some cheese and raw carrot as snacks, more porridge for lunch, and a fruit smoothie (without the nuts and seeds) for dinner. It would have been perfect, but I couldn't get to the shops and I was out of goats milk. All we had in was full fat cow's milk!!! But despite that, my nutrition pie chart was almost perfectly balanced so I am happy.

Hopefully it will start cooling down now and I can get back out for some bike rides. I will just have to make up my average in the next few weeks.

Toodles Peeps!!

sounds like a perfect day Mrs. Bear! extra exercise and an even nutritious diet :) don't these kinds of days make you feel so good? sometimes its like we need a binge to get our butts back into gear with our routine. just not too many of those binges...

Mrs Bear,

Really glad you are doing so well.. We'll soon have to start calling you Mrs Deer ;)

Just a note to say that it's ok to use the full fat milk. You just dilute half a glass of full fat milk with water! And voila! - Skimmed milk :p

Xxxx

Thanks guys! You're right Summer, it really reminds you what you are trying to get away from. And Sday (not quite sure what to call you :D ), I should have done that really, the porridge didn't even taste as nice as it does when I make it with semi-skimmed.

Well, I'm in a really sh*tty mood today, not actually diet related. Firstly, I over slept this morning, so I had to rush around to eat and have a shower (essential when it is so warm!!) in 20 mins!! Then I realised I had a touch of heat rash on my legs. I got to work 5 minutes late and got a deafening cheer  . It is very warm in the office, and when I changed into my shorts I had even more heat rash. I went out on delivery and am doing an area today that I haven't done for ages, which had a particular road that was really scummy. Its even worse now. The letter boxes are in the backs of the houses and all the gardens are overgrown, covered in spider's webs and the gates are half hanging off. I fought my way around that road then went to the next road and promptly got charged at by two dogs, one of which was nipping my knees, while the owner stood there saying that they were fine, they don't bite .... HELLO!!! HE IS TRYING TO BITE MY KNEE!!! I am hot, soaked in sweat and I still have another two hours of delivery to do. :(

I am sorry to have a big moan, please feel free to skip this post as I am just ranting on!! I'm such a misery, I much prefer cold weather to hot!

On the brighter side, my food has been good again today. I actually had micro rice with milk and honey for breakfast, as I didn't have time to cook porridge. Then I had an apple as a snack, and now I have had porridge, and a 2 egg omelet with 40g goats cheese. 1065 cals so far, 500 for my veggie stirfry, maybe another apple, and this will be a good day!! ;)

Cheers for dropping by guys, and I know that my mood will be better later, when I have finished work.

PS - My weight bench has just arrived .... Woo Hoo!!!!

*great big massive humongus hugs*

I'm sorry you've had such a pants day today. And again, I'm sorry about your period showing up when it's not wanted. I really hope you're sucessful next month.

On the binge front, even though you've classed it as a binge, you didn't go overboard, so you still kept control, that's something to be proud of.

Great stuff on joining Fitday, you're not going to leave us for them, are you? And well done on a great day yesterday! I'm very pleased to see that ticker going as well, only 910 miles to go! By your next couple of rides you'll have cleared your first 100 miles. You're doing fantastic, hun!

Hope the weight bench works out well, that's something to look forward to today.

*hugs again*

Welcome back Bronsk!!! You will be happy to hear that I am feeling a lot better now, despite having terrible heat rash all up the back of my legs!! :p

How was camping? How did you manage sticking to your plan? Can't wait to hear all your news.

My day is going okay now, but this heat makes me want to do nothing. We had a few spots of rain, but I am hoping for a downpour to really cool it down.

Couldn't face stir fry, but I have had some cold chilli beef, and a fruit smoothie. Cals, about 2000 which is great for me.

I am going to go shopping after work tomorrow, so that I have healthy stuff in, and I might even have stir fry tomorrow ;)

Hey missus!

Glad the day improved for you. Camping was amazing, even though plan did kinda go, *ahem*, a tad array... It'll be a miracle if I stay the same weight!

Dude, I know how you feel about the heat, it's just been so warm here it's untrue! Top Cat and I didn't even bother walking it was just too hot.

Top Cat and AJ (mate) have come round, so will talk later! Well done on such a good day!

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble in the pregnancy department. Everything will happen as it is meant.

Abd I relate to the heat problems. I hate the heat too. Much prefer cold weather!

But look at you with the two binge free days!! Who do you think you are?? Woo hoo!

I know how you feel about the heat, i live just outside London and today reached a toasty 33C!! Keep up the good work, hope you are having a great day!

Of course London is always hotter than the rest of the country. That has always amazed me but apparently it is true. ;)

So sorry you're day started off so badly. Glad to see you are feeling better. :D

Sorry to hear about your problems in the pregnancy department too. How long have you been trying? When I decided I wanted to have another, it took me 9 months to get pregnant with our daughter. Then 7 years later, I got pregnant when we weren't even trying.

Hey Hypo. I got pregnant straight away the first time, but unfortunately lost that pregnancy. That was at the end of March 2005, and I am still waiting, so that is over 15 months. I know for a chunk of that I wasn't ovulating, but it is still taking forever. I don't normally get upset about it anymore, day to day. I even forget sometimes that I am even trying to get pregnant. But when I get my period, and I am obviously feeling a bit emotional anyway, that is when I get sad.

A friend at work said it took him and his wife a year to get pregnant the first time, then when they decided to have a second child, it happened immediately. I think that says a lot about how when you focus on it a lot, it is more difficult than if you are preoccupied with something else.

Thanks for swinging by, and thanks for your kind words .... it means a lot :)

Oh! Nearly forgot. I have just spent 2 hours constructing my exercise bench. It was very complicated as it has a leg extension part, and chest fly sections. I don't need to work out tonight now .... that was hard enough work :D

I'll let you know how I get on with it tomorrow. ;)

Hey Bear, sorry about disappearing.

Great to see your now 2 days binge free! Only 3 more to go and you've reached your target!

*gets out pom-poms and starts fanfare music!*

Hope the bench works out OK! Looking forward to hearing how you get on.

*big hugs* missus!

Hey Mrs Bear sorry to hear about your problems re pregnency. My friends and his wife had been trying for ages and then she was diagnosed with endometriosis. If you have bad period pains it might be worth asking for a test for that. I was told to get checked out after having heavy bleeding and bad cramps. Hope things improve very soon and of course you have your lovely beardie to give you cuddles!:)
