Mrs Bear's Diary

Weekends are hard. Emmcookie and I usually plan one meal a week that is slightly higher cal than usual just to treat ourselves. It sounds as though you controlled the eating well. With those yummy foods around you could have had a major binge but you didn't!! And that's what you should focus on. Before you started these life changes I'll bet you would have lost control, but not now!! Not our Mrs. Bear!!!!! :)

Hey Mrs. Bear, don't beat yourself up too much. I think you are doing AWESOME!!!!! Just being conscious about food intake is a success in itself.

Hope you have are having a happy Monday!!

Don't feel bad Mrs. Bears, splurging without binging should probably be a goal for us and not something to be avoided. Nobody ever got fat by eating a piece of pizza or a slice of cake. The problem is some of us can't stop at one.

Hey Gang!! Thanks for popping by with all your encouragement!! Much better than a large helping of potato gratin any day!

Bronsk, that sounds so cool!!! I am soooo jealous :p I want to be the spoon!! Have you heard, though, about Craig Charles? He's had to go into rehab apparently after some drug incident  I swear it was Coronation Street that drove him to it :D

Hey, M2M, I often feel like that too. It is very difficult to be in control when you have to have naughty food in the house for other people. What's that saying ..... hell is other people? Only kidding ;)

Sillygirl, you are so totally right, in the past I would have lost control, eaten ALL the leftovers then been all ... 'Mr Bear ... (I actually call him that  ) ... can you go to the shop for me and get some ice cream... and a big packet of Kettle Crisps .... and some of those delicious Caramel Chocolate Rice Krispie squares .... oh and ....' and that would have been it for the night. Thanks for reminding me how far I have come, it is easier to see what you have had in addition to your calorie allowance, rather than how much less you are having than you actually used to.

And Cannon, I am that kind of person too. I am not going to be one of these people who can incorporate the odd chocolate, or two scoops of ice cream into their diet from time to time ... if its in, its eaten, then and there!! Or if I only buy a little bit then when that's gone, I am struggling not to get in the car and go back to the shop and buy more. That is why I didn't do too badly last night, they weren't really my trigger foods (sweet stuff, ice cream, and crunchie, crispy things ... like crisps .... and crunchies :D

Okay, food for today (oooh that rhymes)

Breakfast: Porridge
Snacks: 4 babybels (that's it now Bronsk, I'm hooked!!! ) totalling 80g cheese, 1 apple, 2 dried pineapple rings, 20g dried banana, 50g exotic fruit crisps (felt like munching today)
Main Meal: 125g cooked wholegrain microrice, half tsp olive oil, carrot, brocolli, mushrooms, half tub of carrot and coriander soup

Total calories for today 1550, and I am not going to have anything else. The veggie stirfry has really filled me up, and I shall be going to bed in 4-5 hours time. I feel like I have got back on the wagon well, Mondays are always a bit nervy for me as I worry that my body will remember the sugar and overeating of the weekend and make me binge :( but not today !!:D

Cheers again for dropping by muckers. Toodle-oo

Hi Mrs B!
Sounds like you had a great day today. The weekends are always the worst for me and it sounds like your weekend wasn't that bad. I have to remind myself often of how much I used to eat and even overeating now isn't anywhere near how much I used to eat everyday. ;)

I'm glad to be back on here. I guess I can always squeeze in alittle time to read the witty encouragement from everyone on this site.:p
Keep it up, your doing great! :D

Thanks Alicia, I know what you mean.. I had a couple of busy days and found it hard to keep up with all the diaries, but i have caught up now and I am determined not to fall behind again. Its alright for me though ... I finish work at midday most days ;)

Well done on getting back on the wagon, i always find the first day the hardest and after that it kinda becomes habit again. Hope you are ahving a good day!

I've said it before and I'll say it again- I love Mondays when I'm trying to lose weight. The weekends are always tricky, but getting back on your weekday schedule really helps you get back on track and drop those pounds. Your food for the day sounds really good- Everyone keeps talking about veggie stirfry lately and I'm starting to crave it myself. It looks like a trip to the store is going to have to be arranged!

Hey Laura and Val .... I agree with both of you. Mondays are hard, but at the end of the day it feels soooo good to know that you have got back to your routine. I feel very positive right now, and I have double (sorry triple) incentive to be very good this week. I have FSD, I have my appointment with the weight management lady on Friday plus, of course, I want to do well so I make all you guys proud and warrant all your kind, encouraging words ;)

Feeling a bit like munching, but my tummy says 'I'm still satisfied'. It is definitely an emotional want, so I am drinking plenty of water and not succumbing to temptation.

Toodles peeps!!

Hellllo MrsBear, well done for getting back on track very quickly and it's a good idea about the water as well. Another wee thing I've found is that if I have a hot drink my body feels satisfied because I've had something hot if you understand me. Maybe the poor thing thinks it's had a meal or something!

Hope you have a good week and are giving Buster plenty of cuddles heh!:D

Hey Mrs B!

Sorry I didn't get on yesterday. I missed it all though! Glad to see you've had a good monday, you did really well, dude! And aren't those babybels fantastic! I can't wait for the day when I can some in as well!

Craig Charles in drug rehab? He's not had an easy time of it. I remember being devastated as a youngster when he went to jail (*wrongly* I hasten to add) If he is in drug rehab, I can't say I blame him; if I was working on Coronation Street or any other soap, I'd turn to them as well :D

Y'know, with the weekend eating thing, I'm kinda the opposite. In the week when I'm not working and I have the house to myself, I get bored and lonely and so I start picking, and feel hungry constantly. I even sit and watch clocks to see when I can eat my next meal. Weekends, everyone's in so it's less lonely. I'm going to be screwed when I live on my own...

Have a brilliant, marvellous day, you! You've done amazing so far, and it makes me a happy panda to see that it's been 2 days binge/sugar free :)

Hey guys, its like we've got our own little mini Brit thread going ;)

Thanks for the suggestion Crunchie, it is a good idea for me to have hot peppermint tea and lemon, as it helps my tummy, and if it makes me feel satisfied aswell, so much the better ;) Oh, and I would hug Buster, but he would probably puff his beard out at me and hiss :D

Hey Bronsk, yeah its a real shame when people like that get mixed up in things like drugs. I always feel sad when I think about how talented Elvis was, and for him to end his days so low ..... it just seems a shame and a waste.

I hope you guys have a great day aswell .... back out for more post delivering now ... I'll swing by later

I wanna be part of the min brit thread. I'm kind of related by marriage as my husband is from London!!! Oh, and I love McVitie's Digestives and PG Tips...and I used to watch East Enders....does that get me into the club? LOL!!!!!

Hey Mrs B!
You know you are going to catch me soon if you keep losing weight while my lazy butt just sits here the same. :p
I want to be in the club too :( but I have no ties and don't even know much about anything you all are talking about. :D
Hope you have a great day. You've been doing really well so far! :)

We aught to start a Brit thread in the off-weight subject thread. It would seclude us from the rest of the world, but hey, we could talk Brit comedy, drink tea, play cricket what-what!

There was a review for LOST in the paper, critising a scene with Charlie's band. The band members were all wearing Union Jack dressing gowns and drinking tea from china cups on a video film set :D I just laughed!

I know this would go against the no sugar, but another hot drink to try is the Options. They're 40 kcals a serving, and very thick and filling. Years ago, there was the lemon juice diet, where if you drank lemon juice before bed, it would get rid of any food in your stomach and ultimately make you lose weight over night :p Wonder if lemon tea would do the same, we could all be bikini-slim in no time :D

Hope you've had a brilliant day!

Hmm, I explained my fondness for cricket already and I've had my tea for the day. I'm even willing to start drinking my soda warm. However, the term British comedy has been stretched very thin since PBS started importing shows like Are You Being Served.

It wasn't a bad cricket reference, it's just a very British sport. Most sports have a time out, we have tea breaks!

In fact, the post was just the view that seems to come across from the Simpsons and Cow and Chicken. Not a bad thing, I find it hilarious! It wasn't a dig at tea or cricket :)

Bronsk

Scarlett, Alicia and Cannon .... you are all honorary Brits in my book, and welcome to join the thread ;) However, Cannon, I do have a bone to pick with you ;) you cannot look at Brit comedy from thirty years ago and think that's where we are at now :p Just look at Little Britain, Spaced, Alan Partridge, Red Dwarf .... all the greats. And who drinks warm soda??? :D

Bronsk, I hate it when they stereotype Brits like in LOST. I was chatting to an Australian woman on a flight once, and all she wanted to talk about was the Queen, Diana and Charles & Camilla. I had to tell her straight, to be honest none of those things really interest me that much. Obviously the thing with Diana was sad, but I just don't think about it in a day to day basis ....

Sorry I didn't check in at the end of yesterday. I went to bed for a quick lie down at 5pm, and woke up at 9:50 pm!!!!! Hubby was coming to bed so I put the dishwasher on, hung up my (by now very creased!!!) washing and went back to bed. So despite getting up at 4am today, I still got 10 hours sleep!! I really needed it, I felt really sick and blah yesterday ... I'm feeling much better today.

I am only doing half a delivery today (should be my day off  ) so I am really going to push myself to go for a bike ride. Its been a while and I have no excuse today. And it looks a bit overcast so hopefully it shouldn't be too warm.

Food so far, two lots of porridge, 1 date and some dried banana chips (sugar free;) ) Cals so far 890. Feeling good :D

Till later peeps!! Toodles

It's a bit annoying, but thankfully friends in the States never say anything. If anything, it's me when I send letter; I draw pictures of chickens sneezing and mad cows :D

A few years back, there was this cartoon called Ned's Newt, and it involves a genie-like newt who morphs and stuff. This giant newt and his boy owner have to cross a pool of piranhas, and so the newt says "I've got it!" and morphs into a cow with the union jack flag and a bowler hat (or something similar) and says "British Beef! No one'll eat that!" I love kids TV! :D

I'm so happy you've been able to get in a good night's sleep, it looks like you're not getting a great deal at the moment what with *ahem* internet :p It'll do you the world of good! And it sounds like you're feeling better in yourself, go you!

Hope you continue to have a great day!

Bronsk

Cheers Bronsk, I am feeling a lot better!!

So, I went for a bike ride today .... YEAH!!!! I am not going very often at the moment because of all the overtime (there is overtime available nearly everyday next week, and I just can't say no to that carrot :D ) so I am really chuffed that I went today. I did the 14 mile ride, then when I got back and added it to my ticker, I realised that I have done 10% of my journey!!!! 98 miles done .... and 2 more miles and I have done my century (lets not start up the cricket talk again :D ) I did some weights after and I am getting a bit more used to my bench now. For a start I have moved the bed out of the room so I can actually use it now!!

Foodwise, in addition to the two lots of porridge and dried fruit, I have had 2 mini babybels, 1.5 dried pineapple rings and a fruit smoothie (which I now measure and have reduced amounts so it is a pint glass full only - I normally go back for seconds!!) Total calories today just under 1700 :) This is really becoming habit now, and I don't even think ... I want this, or that, or this is hard. It is just what I do. This forum has really helped me with that. It has keep my mind off food enough to let my stomach get used to eating less often and smaller amounts. Go WLF!! :D
