MoonGoddess's Path

Yay for payday and supportive friends!

I'm sorry about the pedometer drama, but like you said, at least the timing worked out! You can go buy yourself a brand new one (and maybe a lil something else! :) )

I hope your day has gotten better!

*hug*

Hey Moon. Sorry about the pedometer. Sometimes things don't work out at planned... I love your new year's goals though. I kind of have some like that too, although mine aren't as specific, they should be.

I like the movement one you have, I guess my similar one would be to start running at least 2 miles per day 5 times per week.

I also love love love the gratitude one. I have always wanted to do this. I just don't? I saw a couple of years ago on Oprah about people keeping a gratitude journal and how it had changed their outlook and everyday life. It sounds nice to me.

I also need to read more books. I'm going to start on that too :)

About that treadmill,

Hi girls,

I am a huge fan of walking and finally broke down and bought the treadmill this Monday. Tired of walking in this midwestern weather! I was afraid it would be boring and a dust collector, but aside from that little spill I took the other a.m. (eh - hem, DO use the little clip in your clothing), I am loving it. Really surprised at the workout I seem to be getting, using the incline. I go about 30 minutes and will do another mile or so in the evenings when time allows.

Here's a hint: keep your eyes open at all times!:smilielol5:

Oh, sorry, I don't seem to fit in, as I am married - 23 years. Am starting a Christian web-based matchmaking system so I am quite interested in hearing what you ladies are saying. But I am probably not supposed to promote anything specific here.

What a shocker to sign up an entire family for a marathon. WOW...

Linda

So not the day I had hoped for, but not the worst day ever either.

I can't believe how many of you have posted on this page! Thanks :D Helps to know I'm not the only one who has dealt with a bum pedometer. But I guess this is what its all about. Learning to depend on you no matter what the challenge of the day is, be it Krispy Kreme, or POS equipment. Just have to find a way. Plopping yourself down in the forest half way to grammas, just doesn't cut it. You'll end up being eaten by the wolf.

I ended up getting a new one. Hopefully this one is going to be even better! Sorry LadyBug but I coun't even begin to imagine counting steps in my head. I'd go nuts & steam really would come out my ears after a while of that. I still have to wait for it to arrive, but I'm ok with that. I don't need to be so dependent on it anyway. For now I'll just put the step counting on the back burner & focus on the other parts. I did work out. I did relax... amazing what some hot bubbles & Chopin will do to cut through the drama of life. Started No Need For Speed by John Bingham. Read a bit more in You: On a Diet. Ended up eating 1820 calories, which is fine in my book. Not too bad a day.. other than I feel silly for letting such a small thing get me so steamed up.

Its all a learning to adapt thing. Just have to stay dedicated no matter what the punches are.

WE WILL DO THIS.

...oh & Linda, congrats on getting the treadmill. Its a great investment in yourself. & good luck with the matchmaking. Luckily I don't need it at the moment. :) & yeah my sister has some nerve when she wants to... not only signed us up, but then backed out. lil bitch, but I do love her. She has gumption & when we are working on the same side her strong will is great, just stinks to butt heads now & then.

Thanks again for the shoulders to lean on & all the support.
Tomorrow is going to be so much better!

oh man.. today is so much better.

Just finished having fresh made ginger peach salsa with tortilla chips for lunch. Dang it was good. I skipped the burrito or taco & just made the salsa my lunch since its what I wanted. Just have to remember to make dinner more protein & veggies type thing.

Being back at work stinks... but a gals gotta do what a gals gotta do. But I do miss my treadmill right about now....

He is the penguin guy. I love his style so far... very down to earth.

Oh man... the salsa on grilled chicken does sound perfect. I think I have found dinner plans, along with some kale & maybe a baked sweet potato.. dunno. I could dream about it all afternoon.

Oh yeah, Baked Sweet Potato, LOVE THEM!! and that salsa does sound yummy on some grilled chicken. WOW, can I come over for dinner tonight?? Good food choices!!! Have a good rest of your day!

The more the merrier... I'm hoping I don't go overboard on the cals & can squeeze in a glass of red wine before hitting 2000 calories.

argh.. I hate that I can day dream about food so easy.... oh well better to dream it that eat it all!

OOOHHHH Your a red wine drinker too??? Ahhhhh, now I know why I like you so much! LOL LOL I don't care if they ever make another soda/pop/soft drink again, as long as my red wine is always available. Not that I drink it daily, but I do love a glass on the weekends and maybe one during the week. However, for the challenge I'm in, NO ALCOHOL for a week, OIY!! Now I feel a migraine coming on. LOL LOL

OK so good news...

we had chicken breast

bad news...

no kale or sweet potatoes in the store!

good news...

I got gas in the car again.

bad news...

I missed the cheaper prices & LOST MY DANGED DEBIT CARD AT THE GAS STATION!!!! Ug...

Crap. I hate wondering who picked it up. I know, they would need the PIN, but there are plenty of places that will take it as credit. I had to cancel it so now I need to wait 3 to 5 business days to get a new one & the a new PIN to memorize. crap.

I did end up grilling the chicken & topping it with the ginger peach salsa. It was DELICIOUS!!! I got some sweet baby lettuce & chopped up a carrot & put the chicken on top of that & then topped it all with the salsa. Also added the last of the black eyed peas to the side. It was heavenly. Which I needed since I was in a funk of a mood after losing the card. I know.. don't find comfort in food but when its fresh veggies & chicken why not?

I skipped the wine tonight. I would finish off the bottle.

Just another one of those days I guess. :) oh well.

MG, I have never found any pedometer to track like it should. It either tracks too many steps or not enough (even all day walking around a theme park!) Once last year my pedometer registered while I sat on the bus with my son on the way to his field trip!

:smash: That's what you need to do to the pedometer! Ha!

I did hear that 4 miles is equivalent to 10,000 steps. I dunno if that helps or not.

I might just have to take the hammer to the old one.

I know they aren't completely accurate, just enjoyed having something to compare day to day. A goal to break in addition to adding in formal exercise.

So plus for exercising in the first half of the day... I got it in before my stomach turned. I think I got a bug or ate something bad, but either way I don't feel like doing anything but lay in bed & visit the bathroom. Ug. Forget the yoga I had planned today. At least I got the treadmill time in. Maybe this will cause me to drop a few pounds... but probably not with all the water I'm chugging.

High point of the day... the new pedometer arrived! I can't wait to try it out tomorrow... because I WILL be feeling better then.

Hey Moon,

Sorry to hear you stomach turned, that's no fun at all. Excited for you to break in the pedometer though. You said you workout on the treadmill and you have a pedometer too, that sounds like successful regime to me. I agree with Miss Ladybug that I want to come over for dinner too, that sounded very good. I wanted to get sweet potatoes at the store the other day but, I forgot:doh: Never had kale I don't think but I'd definitely give it a try. I love red wine too. My dad is a huge wino, especially red, so I think it's in my genes.

So far so good today. I slept through the night so that has to count for something. Just woke up & got the pedometer on. We shall see how it works. I have to admit that I don't feel very energetic, but hopefully thats just since I just woke up.

Hope everyone else is doing great today.
