MoonGoddess's Path

read thru some of the boys diaries (and they're diaries not journals the way they act like women :D ) they obsess over waist size and pants and how their behinds look... it's not limited to the wimminfolk acting all vane :D

Oh it is certainly not a wymoon thing! I had to laugh at an ex of mine who obsessed more on his looks & what he was wearing than I ever had...

I would love to boycott the stores & just sew my own stuff, but who has the time to do all that!?! I am bad about altering things.. like last night I almost bought a pair of pants & was in there with them on thinking these would work if I just took off this & shortened that & redid the hem... & then I stopped myself & said WHY WOULD I WANT TO DO ALL THIS TO A NEW PAIR OF PANTS? Stupid.. I put them back.

I've watched that silly show What Not To Wear enough to know tat altering clothes is really important - til this point, I honestly was all about if it fit, and nothing inappropriate hung out and it was clean (and relatively wrinkle free) itwas worn - now - not so much... clothes in smaller sizes fit differently and we all have different body types so altering I really think is a necessity...

I just think its amazing that we all have curves of some sort if we aren't anorexia or somethings. Yet the people who produce most of the clothes make them for the stick people! Where's the logic there? Why not have not just sizes but also like a 10 a, 10 b, 10 c for body types. I don't know something a lil less judgmental.

ok.. so why do I get sucked into dumb Tv shows? At work some co-workers were talking about how great Top Chef is & since we all love Project Runway & trust their judgment on reality shows. & now there is a marathon or something so I just caught one episode & now watching another, the new season starts tonight I guess?

My problem is while this show is interesting & I know we will be talking about it at work tomorrow... its making me soooo hungry! :O My crappy mood doesn't help. I am a stress eater & I know it. & I'm just frustrated with the lack of progress lately. I was doing good until last month when I ended up in pain.. & I know we all have plateaus & there is no one that is going to lose everyday, I just really want to & am being a brat in my mind.

I hate hunger when you know you aren't starving. Makes me crankier....

I loved season 1 of top chef - partially because harold was totally cute and had this little boy shy charm to him too... season 2 just got bizarre.. season 3 -eh - maybe i'll watch - maybe not...

My current hobby is watching the food related shows on tv and making the recipes work for me in my eating plan now. It's fun to try to work out what to substitute with what and what to leave out and some of the recipes can even be used just as they are. Some of the transformed recipes I end up trying for real, some are just better left behind. ;)
I also get some twisted pleasure trying to estimate how many calories would be in a suggested original menu. It gives a whole new point of view to food served in restaurants, when you see and calculate how much cream, butter, oil and sugar goes in it. And how innocent it looks on a plate!
Sorry about your hunger..

You're just watching the wrong shows! Search for old reruns of Fear Factor. I guarantee you after two episodes of watching people eat pig scrotums and fish heads, you won't want to eat for a week!

Man.... Now I have to find a way of getting Top Chef too? (am into fiction, so I already am trying to get some of the latest season of Lost... Am updated with my Prison Break & Desperate Housewives...) This said, I loooove cooking shows. I know of a British one with a handsome black man that talks to his food the way I'd wish to be talked to... Love that guy. (I like Mal's idea of focus on the chef, not on the food: great fun for single ladies I say... or not single!)

I laughed reading this! I - just two days ago - watched an episode during diner: bad idea! I was just waiting for the Sopranos (that comes after). They had to eat maggots-covered stinky cheese... Yuck!!!!!

Hope you're great Goddess!

Last season on Top Chef, one of the challenges was to put together a 3 course meal that came in under a certain amount of calories and it was seriously eye opening for the chefs that they didn't quite seem to get that every squirt of olive oil on the grill was XX amount of calories and it all counted towards the total... most of them were pretty shocked...

Rachael Ray's show scares me - she'll wax poetic about how healthful (yes she makes up words too) her food is as she dumps about a lb of cheese and a 1/2 a bottle of olive oil on her meals...

you all are cracking me up! :) Thanks..

I wish I could see the "under x calories" episode... as for fear factor.. I just can't watch that one. Why would anyone do that crap. Last night was gross enough after all. I'm not very adventurous with meats & they did a surf & turf challenge with some meats I have never heard of before. What the heck is a geoduck / gooeyduck? & why would you ever want to eat rattlesnake & eel? Gross in my eyes. Might be one of those once you try it you'd like it things, but I have enough to eat as is.. kinda why I am here... so adding to foods I like ..no thanks.

I do like the idea of checking out the chef rather than the dishes.... plus most of those high gourmet dishes are like 4 bites rather than the megapileup that ends up on my plate in most restaurants. I'm thinking this might have to be a weekly watch for me.

eel is actually quite tasty :) most sushi restaurants have a broiled eel on the menu that's delicious... and rattlesnake - I've had it once -tasted like alligator which tasted like a rubbery chicken -not something I'd want to have again - Gooeyduck and the black chicken I'd never heard of --nor do I think i want to try... :D

I loved fear factor - I know i know - Of course I would love it...ha ha ha

Im glad your still not turning to food when in a crappy mood or stressed your doing great in that department :):):)

Cheer up buttercup

Its a challenge & a half. I think one thing is recognizing my cravings. Like last night I was craving a steak & steak sauce.. well there was none in the house of course. In the past I would have just munched on something else instead hoping it would pass, but it ALWAYS passes.. no matter what you do. So lately I have been trying to go for a big glass of water to drink instead.

Oh & speaking of lil wins, yesterday I got my 2 gallon jug filled at work & my 1 gallon, then I had order a case of 12 -1 liter SmartWaters (I try to always keep a case in the house this time of year... just in case & if not I will drink em anyway) & then I had all my usual crap with me to carry from work, laptop, day planner, files, etc. My first & normal reaction was - Ok hike over to the parking lot, get the car & pull it around & load it up.. but instead I added those extra weighted steps & decided to make several trips! My co-workers just laughed & shook their heads... silly girl... well silly girl will be down a few more pound before they know it! :p

Hello Moon! How are ya??

I don't know what all they hype is with Top Chef. I can't stand that guy. The chef is way to manic for me to want to listen too. I guess that's what people are into these days, mean judges!!! lol I do love Simon though, so I can somehow relater. ANyhow, I'm on a tangent here.

Hope you have a great and healthy day today!!

I think I'm going to strap my scale to a concrete block & toss it into the ocean... only I hate for the fish to have to deal with it.

Stupid thing is messing with my mind. I know I have been good lately... & yet I seem to be stuck at 183. bah humbug.
