MoonGoddess's Path

Ok, first off, take a deep breath.

Now then, you've had your little mope, ok, not the end of the world (end of the world happens when you hear trumpets and your great-great-great grandparents show up at the front door for a visit during the mother of all fire-and-brimstone storms.) WEdding plans (even if they're not you own) are stressful, and missing friends sucks. You took a detour, that's all, there's a fire road leading back to the main highway right here, so, you can continue on the detour if you want and visit Pizzaville, or you can get back to the main road. . .your choice. I gave myself the week off last week because I had preliminary orals for my dissertation, and if microwave popcorn kept me from losing my mind, so be it. I was back on board Saturday morning. One day does not break the healthy eating habit (a week slows it down, but I knew what I was getting into). You're doing fine.

Oh, and I don't know when the wedding is (if memory serves, it's October), but order that dress. That way you don't have to stress over it later (and they do alterations 2 weeks before the wedding anyway).

You all are right... I am being a big poop.

The cherrypit to the side of the face woke me up I think & the red boa might distract from the cleavage gazing... lol. Which is why we nixed the first choice in dresses.. all she saw was my cleavage coming at her. This one is a lil better. Its a sore spot with my sister since my cup runith over & her's is more of a half full scenario.

Thanks.

I did ok on lunch. Turkey meatloaf, some mixed fruit chunks & a baked yukon gold potato (which I love because they are naturally buttery & don't need any more). I got lucky the hot bar at work was good today in that it fitted my comfort food mood.

I also realized why I am being such a moody muppet... in addition to all the stress I mentioned above & the pull of the full moon & course its TOM... its been one year to the day that I lost my grams. She & I were very close & for many years when I was younger I had a suspicion that she was my mom & that my mom actually just adopted me... (I had a very active imagination & more in common physically & taste wise with my grandmother). Oh well. At least now I know why I am all pissy. Just have to be easy on myself. Might take a walk on the beach tonight under the moon.... Just be & be greatful for the times we got to walk on the beaches in south florida.

Thanks for all the support. Means so much. Plus I seriously doubt I would be on track if I didn't log on here. I feel guilty if I slip. Which is a good thing.
THANKS.

Oh big rush... load in food on sparkpeople see that I'm ok on what I had for lunch, just higher than I had hoped.

Then when I looked back over it, I see that I enter my 5 honey dew melon balls as FIVE CUPS OF MELON BALLS!!!! 25 cals versus 319! HA! So I felt much better after correcting that error. Especially since the total before was ok, just not what I thought it was.

Hey!!!
Lol, dont you hate that! I do that some times too, just a small goof up, hehe.

By the way, that dress is really pretty. :)

Crap.

So its the first official day of the hurricane season & ALREADY a named storm is projected to pass right over me. Jeez. Already???@?!? Come on. So much for a nice calm weekend. Already gale warnings in effect. They are hoping it decreases in pressure before arrival & all we end up with is rain. & everyone who has lived in this area for anytime knows exactly what to do.. but dang... gotta go starting this crap this early?

Wonder if I can get a generator for my treadmill? :)

I have absolutely no idea how that feels, since there's nothing like that here in the North Pole.
I hope the storm turns out to be less than expected. And if it won't, the sheer worrying about it is bound to use more calories than the treadmill.
How about getting a stationary bike to GENERATE ELECTRICITY?? :D
(Sorry, I'm really bad at resisting temptation this morning. I truly and seriously feel for your situation despite of the sudden outburst of humour..)

Oh its nothing to worry about. Just a lot of wind & some heavy rain. I don't live in an area of town that traditionally floods, Katrina sized action & who knows... but I have made it through quite a few 'canes in this house just fine. My car tends to take on water more than anything else.. risk of having a convertible in a zone. We REALLY need some rain so at least that is good news.. course lots in a short time always adds to the drama of living. Flooded roads with tourist freaking out are never good. Its supposed to be the most intense tonight & tomorrow. & I have the weekend off & plenty of HEALTHY food in the house. Might just stay in & clean out a closet, finish up a few more sewing projects, WORK OUT...etc. skip out on the chaos. I will be fine. Only real issues with a storm this size is if you are moron & actually decide to take out your boat tonight or if you live in an area that floods. Power might go out for a lil while, but I doubt it.

I just think its insane that its already starting. Granted not an actual hurricane this early...but what a start. Jeez. I dont look forward to all the BS that goes along with the season.

BUT you are so right. I should burn this stress off on the treadmill. Maybe go check out the waves (they tend to get all big & white capped as the storms approach.. not anything to go out in, but looking safely from the shore, its a pretty scene). & that would be awesome to have one of those bikes that you rode to make energy to run other stuff. I was planning on getting one of those radios that you can hand crank to power it up, but if they just called for the storm to come... there is NO WAY I am going to the hardware store. Everyone freaks out & stocks up on stuff at the least minute or in this case, just to be safe.

Thanks for thinking of me.

& I can't imagine the "north pole" weather! I haven't seen snow in years...forget me driving in it! :)

Well its still raining.... but i think its supposed to end soon.

Yesterday I made a conscience effort since I was stressed & aggravated to really watch every calorie. Instead of comforting salt chips, I grabbed a crunchy pear. Drank a ton of water. Tracked it all on sparkpeople & I did 16- 8oz glasses throughout the day! Well the rain was coming down in buckets & I guess I had to drink a ton too, 128 oz!!! Whoa.

I also had this cool idea around 9:30 pm last night about how awesome a Twinkie would be in a bowl with a ton of sliced strawberries. (yes... guilty. I have twinkies around the house. But their 150 calories is MUCH better than some other alternative when I am craving a piece of cake.) Checked sparkpeople first to see how much it would be & if it would send me over the daily limits.. it did. So I didn't have it. STILL craving it, but the will power stood strong. I will just have to make room for those calories in my day today.

Funny thing, in the WOMAN challenge its bonus time. The challenge was to prepare a disaster readiness kit. Um.......CHECK! I stay with one of those prepared & with all the hype from this lil storm, its updated & ready to go. Which made it even easier to guzzle the water since I have so much around the house.

mmm breakfast of champions :) long as you aren't deep frying the twinkie it's all good :) well - sort of.. :) long as you enjoyed it :)

I never understood the need to deep dry everything you can fit in a fryer.. & I'm from the south. yuk... Just would seem to ruin it all.

I figure, its LOTSA local fresh organic berries (good) & a limited amount of cream (yummy) & the spongecake... might have to have an egg for some protein as a midmorning snack or maybe I will make it to lunch & be sure to have some sensible protein.

Gals gotta treat herself & better to cave to the cravings in a thoughtful manner BEFORE they take over & you end up on a binge. :)

Good going resisting that Twinkie! Your only planned treats policy sounds familiar. :rotflmao:
The reason why I love my current eating plan so much: since I'm going for high prot and the limit for fat is so high that it's impossible to reach it without eating avocado, I have only the carbs to watch if I want to have a treat. So I work an occasional piece of chocolate easily in on a workout day, when there's more room in the carb section. I could swear a planned treat TASTES BETTER as well.
Disaster readiness, ha.. Sounds terrifying, since I live in a country where a) the only disasters wear pants and b) it's business as usual regardless of -42C (once a year), +42C (never happens), rain or shine. High winds aren't really an issue here (because of the cold climate), but since the houses are built to keep the -42C outside, they could take a fair amount of wind too.
My personal disaster readiness kit would consist of
1 bottle of champagne
1 box of belgian truffles (chocolate, not fungi)
1 pair of woollen socks, hand-knit
1 teddy bear, a bit worn from all hugs, kisses and tears it has received
1 movie DVD, preferably a crazy comedy, in the style of Monty Python or maybe something with Leslie Nielsen in it.
That kit, I might add, is designed to console when personal disaster hits.
As you can see, I'm so relieved to hear that there's no hurricane, just rain, that I kinda got carried away. Sorry for the intrusion.
Carry on as you we're.
:tiptoeing to the left as if nothing happened:

Julie you are cracking me up! :)

I also have some bottles of wine & plenty of crossword puzzles, cards & playdoh (love the feeling on squishing it through my fingers or balling up a clump then whacking the mess out of it with a fist.... lots of comforting stuff. & I have my dog to keep me company. Only problem with the DVDs is that the power tends to go off. Course after it comes back it takes even longer to get the cable back up so then the DVDs come in handy, but at that point everyone is typically sick of being stuck inside & so its time to go outside & grill or something.

tip toe in anytime! Heck stomp right in if you feel like it. :)

Hey you sorry Ive been slackign - ya know what it is - my youngest is getting older and becoming more of a handful and I have 5 freaking cats andit looks like we are gettin a dog and work and ya - LOL - anyway _ i need to stop by more - I love seeign you in my diary and reading the encouraging words you have to say and hey ya know what when I want to treat myself I do it first thing int he mornign or before noon b/c then I have the rest of the day to burn it off :):):) Twinkies - mmm - I havent had those in forever...Ya know what else is really good - those cookies wafer snack things they make - they are abt 130 cals - to 150 depending on what you eat and they are jsut liek a chhoclate bar with half the cals...

.....gr.......I seriously love that people who can't seem to get it together enough to clock in & out, expect to be paid for the total hours work. Which of course makes my job on payroll day- today-- soooo lovely. Grr. Who dresses these people in the morning & seriously I don't even want to think about the fact that they probably don't have sense enough to wipe their asses & wash the hands!

ok had to vent.. instead of the stressed out feeding frenzy I really want to do. There is a thing of nuts that is whispering.. just mindlessly eat me while you stress & it will all be ok... you won't even realize that you are eating like 6 servings....

....ok back to the hell that is payroll....

Do you often feel like food is addressing you?
Would you like to talk about it?
:: takes a good position in the armchair ::
:: takes a notebook and pen ::
:: lowers her glasses to the nose ::

You might advise the people to take their mothers with them to work, since you have better things to do than mother them..

HI Moon,

I see you too are having a bad day. Must be something in the air, hopefully tomorrow will be better. I would not want to be in payroll. People can go coo-coo when it comes to money.

Do not mindlessly eat those peanuts, take a stroll (if you are able to get away from payroll) and grab some water. Stroll may relax you and the water will cool you down :)

Debbie

I made it through the day ... without going nuts! :) & luckily food doesn't typically talk to me.

I did a few strolls to go find people & straighten out the crazy hours that were turned in. Seems the storm chaos, spring fever & that we had a berryfest (yes the same weekend BARRY the storm arrived..har har.. talk about weird planning coincidence) all added up to people acting like they never worked before. But it all got done on time & everyone will be paid. Also made a few supervisors aware that this was not something that would be happening again without some repercussions. I can't be expected to hold hands.

Also took a stroll upstairs to check out the new office. Its all lavender & bigger than I thought it would be. I'm sure once the furniture gets in there it will seem cozier. But exciting.

Just stinks since I care & don't want to screw people over.

but the good thing is I dealt with it, its over & I have done stellar on eating right today. Not a nut to cross my lips. .. ok so I had some peanut butter on crackers for lunch but thats it.

I got home to find a letter from my friend overseas which made me pretty happy. He sounds like he's doing good & its always nice to be remembered. I love getting actual letters from a guy. Just means so much more that he took time to write it & mail it.

Its just so nice to be home.. away from the chaos.

Im glad home is so comforting for you and good job on venting here and not mindlesly eating - Ive done tha ttoday and yesturday bad bad bad me!!!
