Moonbeams Thoughs of the Day

Ok, so I decided to start a diary so I can track my stuff. I also joined fitday to see how I was doing. Please feel free to comment and give criticism (sp) and suggestions.

Today, (includes dinner I have not had yet) and does NOT include 20 g of protein post work out:

24% fat
42% carbs
37 % protein
1960 calories

As some may have already read my current workout routine is as follows:

M-cardio (intense) 40 minutes

T-walking lunges (20 pounds) 3 sets of 12
dead lifts (30 pounds) 4 sets of 12
squates (a$$ to floor) no weights yet 3 sets of 10
bridges (15 pounds) 4 sets of 25
calf raises (90/100 pounds) 4 sets of 12/10/10/10
abs - alternate between abs on floor and machine (no weights)
20 minutes low intensity cardio

W-bi curls (12 pounds each) 3-4 sets of 12
tri curls (6 pounds each) 3-4 sets of 12 alterate with dips (no weights)
shoulders (8 pounds each) rows/lifts 3-4 sets of 12
chest (on my back lifting 8 pounds each) 3 sets of 12
back (not sure the name? flies? 8 pounds each) 3 sets of 12
20 minutes low intensity cardio

T-Repeat Monday (usually less intense)
F-Repeat Tuesday (usually less intense)

Rest Sat/Sun

I'm 5'1" and started at 116; this is my 4th week of this. I'm now around 112. I don't like to weigh myself much. Water intake is at least 3 liters, usually around 1 gallon per day..

Lookin good I say. Although have you been doing this same routine for a while now? I think if it has been at least 2 weeks it may be time to step up with the weights a notch .

How about increasing them a bit ? The arms esp. I think need just a bit more weight. Try 15 and then 20 lbs. Right now I'm up to 55 lbs and my arms are not bulky so don't worry. They have definition but are not 'manly' . Lot of times girls get wierd about the weights thinking it will make you look unfeminine but it doesn't unless you go ALL OUT and train like for competition which requires a whole lot of discipline and whatnot you won't get all bulky trust me. :)

Oh and it will help burn alot more calories :)
 
Thanks Jaymie! Yes this is my 4th week with this program so I'll probably start changing it up soon but I don't know where to start. Like you said, maybe I'll just up my weights.

The problem is that 12 pounds was heav(ier) for me since prior to this I only lifted 8's sometimes 10's. But maybe I'll try 15's and do less reps. I do free weights and I don't know if I could ever lift 55 pounds!!! LOL

I'm not too worried about bulking up because I know that I'm not doing enough for that to happen. My goal is an overall toned look!
 
So today my count was:

Calories: 2005

Fats 22%
carbs 36%
Protein 42%

Again not including my post workout whey supplement...

How is this ratio, can onyone give me some input? seems like a lot but today is my heaviest day-workout wise...my goal is to be toned overall...
 
Wow, today I feel like I ate a ton based on my fitday results :(

2358 calories
23% fat
35% carbs
42% protein

I have upper body today, for me it's sually less intense than lower body so I guess that means I need to step it up on my cardio routine afterwards.

And tomorrow I won't be able to work out because I'm going to a game...so I'm gonna do some fasted cardio in the morning. Maybe do what JaymieB does and do 'something' at the gym at lunch, even if it's just a couple of sets of legs :(
 
Hey Moon don't be depressed. I feel the same as you today. 2300 calories isn't all that bad. At least it was 42% protein !! :)
 
Thanks Jaymie :) But I really feel bad now because I DID NOT go to the gym last night. I had a horrible day yesterday and my mind just was not in it. I was tired, mentally and physically, and went to bed at 9 p.m. (that's early for me, that's usually the time I work out)...So, I'm NOT going to the game tonight and working out instead... and I'll work out on Sauturday too, that's usually one of my off days...so at least I will get my 5 days
 
Hey don't feel bad I had about 2400 yesterday and didn't work out at all. I had a piece of chocolate cake and everything last night, ice cream, wasn't a binge or anything I just really wanted it.

So I figured it may help my metabolism since I usually work out every singel day at least a bit. On the weekend I'll just do some cycling. So don't freak out! You're doing real good!

oh and btw, 53% of my calories were from CARBS yesterday :( So at least yours were from protein!!!!

One thing is for sure Jayme, you kick a$$ in cardio! I just had one of those horrrible, terrible, no good days...you know.

I'm SO glad I found this forum, it's so positive and everyone has the same goal!
 
Ok I had tons of pretein today because I plan on working out tonight and when I do legs, it seems like I work harder than when I do upper body!

I plan on getting a great workout since I was lazy and stayed home yesterday. When I feel stressed I wish I could be like some people and be able to take it out on the gym, the track, the weight rack. But I get temporarily depressed and all I want to do is crawl in bed and throw the covers over my head and forget the world!!

But today I feel good...

Well sounds like you got your diet under control to the T almost.. I can't seem to get the protein over the carbs. I had this really stupid dream last night that someone gave me an omelette and I felt like I had to eat it to be nice or something? And I looked at it and it was made out of the yolks of the eggs with no white whatsoever! What a totally nerdy dream eh??? LOL sorry for tainting your diary with my geekiness :-B

So, of course I don't keep track of anything on the weekends, but all in all it wasn't bad. I didn't eat anything that I hated myself for and I actually got a little bit of excercise :)

I'll post my food in take for today later on...

Ineed more calories today :( not many but...I'll have to think of something LOL

Today I'm doing a more intense cardio session, about 45 minutes so maybe I'll eat more egg whites :)
 
I know, sorry, I've been in the sports section LOL, I've been crazily watching the World Cup...

Plus I'm a little down lately, I'm getting tired of eating lol. My last few days I haven't hit more than 1800 calories and I'm shooting for at least 2200, I can feel the difference, I've felt sluggish...I'm running out of food ideas and the egg whites are getting harder to eat :eek:

I went to the store at lunch and bought some 'lean' turkey slices but it has tons of sodium, like 29% (600+mg)!!! I could tell the minute I bit into it YUK!! So I'll have to give it away and go buy a chicken LOL

That's what I've been doing, buying a WHOLE chicken, boiling it and taking it apart for the meat, it's so much cheaper that way too :)

38% carb
35% protein

I've got to switch the carb/protein % :mad:

OH well, can't win them all...
 
I suck! Not eating enough calories, do any of you guys get 'tired' of eating. I'm to that point but I did have some good suggestions on my other thread about foods that are high calorie and ok to eat..:(
