Mona's Diary

Hi Angelface, I'm glad I wasn't the only one so!
Happy Anniversary (belated)! :) how many years are you married? Sounds like you picked a great guy with the right attitude!
I think I was still recovering from the weekend yesterday and felt tired. Today I feel great and I'm going to go to the gym in a little while. Unfortunately I have a work dinner tonight which means a 3 course meal  But I figure if I go to the gym first it will be something. Now that I've said it I can't back down. I'll be on tomorrow with my progress.
Take care

Thanks for the happy belated! We have only been married long enough for me gain 50 pounds! lol 2 years to be exact. Its tough with him cause he eats what he wants, never works out, and always looks fit, buff, tan and beautiful. I must have thought some of that would rub off on me cause I just ate right along with him hahaha. Good thing I was thin and pretty enough to catch his eye buy my personality won him over before I gained weight LOL!

Hi Angelface
He sounds like a fine thing!! Lucky you :) I've been living with my man for 3 years now (not married though) and have continually put on weight over that time  I think its because I've being doing the same as you..just eating the same amount as him all the time!
I'm off to Spain in a few weeks with him and am dreading the thought of wearing a bikini!! Where did I put my gym gear!!

Dragged myself to the gym earlier and it was worth it. :jump: I feel great now and am full of ambition to go again first thing tomorrow morning...I downloaded a 30 minute walk-run program onto my ipod and it was really good. If anyone is interested in starting to run I'd recommend it. Its a nine week program by a guy called robert ullreys and its free to download. I've started on week one and its just one minute running, 1.5 minutes walking. So very basic but perfect for me!! This is the link:

On a bad note, today I am here a week so had to weigh myself  Unfortunately I'm exactly the same weight as last week but I'm not too worried as its only been a week and to be honest I haven't really gotten into the swing of it all yet. And I'm still eating lots so I need to start keeping a food diary and cutting down on a lot of the bad stuff (which includes croissants, chocoate and Tayto crisps!!). I'm determined that by next Thursday I will have lost at least a pound ! :)

Congrats for going to the gym! Your attitude is very positive and that'll get you far. I agree that tracking what you eat is the key to losing weight, at least for most people. It most often makes the difference between maintenance and losing. And besides having not lost any you haven't gained any pounds either! ;)
Keep up with the gym thing, running is very calorie consuming.. :D

The weekend went really fast as usual and for once I managed to fit some exercise in. :) I went to the gym on Saturday morning and did lots of cardio (30 minute run-walk, 10 minutes elliptical and 10 minutes resistance machines). I was out Saturday night but still managed to go for a good walk on Sunday (about an hour) in gale force winds which I think makes it even better (workout wise!)
I didn't eat too badly over the weekend, apart from Saturday night when I was out for dinner - starter, main course, cocktails, champagne and lots of wine (YUM! :jump:) But I did do some dancing but probably nowhere near enough to work all that off!
Anyway thats my update for now. Its Monday evening now and its a no-gym night as I'm never in the mood to go on a Monday!! Not a very good excuse I know but there's always tomorrow!
