Mission: Losing Half of ME

You skipped breakfast.

You skipped lunch.

So you figure you have only taken in roughly 390 calories today? I'm a little worried about that number. you are making a pretty heavy calorie cut and your body doesn't have lot of fuel to work on right now. you have in your post your weight at 320. By the rule of thumb, you need roughly 3840 calories a day to maintain. Let;s go by the 'ideal' of 2 pounds in a week. So 2840 calories a week roughly.

I'm just worried that you are going to feel hunger pains.

My doctor is really ardent about me sticking to his plan, which means I'm only aiming for about 800 calories a day. He told me not to worry about when I eat, and that there is very little proven research about there being any benefits to eating a breakfast because that varies so wildly from one person to another person as far as their metabolism goes. Basically he told me to stop planning everything and making it more difficult than it is because that's what he has seen lead to failure. I am to just make sure I stick to my calorie count, make sure I take a multi-vitamin, and use common sense when making my food choices.

He's really an excellent doctor, and has lots of knowledge in this area... So I'm following his plan!

Doctor > Jericho :)

EDIT: wait..800 a DAY??? That is 500 less than most in the medical field suggests as a minimum for women. I'm not saying your doctor is wrong, far from it..it just shocks me. But the doctor knows better.

Just know that the changes you make now are ones you will have to maintain, for as cliche as this sounds, this is a lifestyle change. I believe that you will figure out what works for you and what does not, and that you know what is healthy for you now and in the long term ;).

Went to Red Lobster and BINGED

This is what happens when we go out to spend some gift cards and decide it would be nice to treat ourselves to an awesome New Years meal... No self control, I want to have everything! I've never been good at decisions, damn. At least it is out of our system, and now we're going to be good... Or else!

Yeah... so today was an awful day... :banghead:

Onward and upward...

Dear Diary,

Oh hello there, welcome to January 2nd!
January 1st was a pretty bad day for me, as I consumed nearly 4000 calories... The bright side? At least I took accountability and counted up all of those calories instead of just assuming it was "a lot." :puke:

The hubby and I got some walking in yesterday, which was nice. I am no where near drinking half my weight in ounces of water, but I am okay with that since my pee is not super yellow! :biggrinjester:

I work all day today, which is usually bad for my diet because there's a free meal in it for me, which is usually pretty calorie loaded... I am going to opt for just the salad, which means I have to talk with the cook. She is also a large lady, and she always goes out of her way to give me mega large portions because we have large lady solidarity. Ugh. :piggy:

In other news... My classes start back up on Thursday, which means I'm going to get pretty busy. Augh, and I still need to buy scrubs... Crap, I had forgotten about that...

Well, time for me to get going! I'll food log later!!

This is SO very important. Because now, at least you KNOW. Which means that you know if you really buckle down the rest of the week, you can probably still get a very reasonable loss.

My first day I logged my food, I decided not to try to "eat well" at all, I just wanted to see what my normal calorie intake looked like ... and it was just under 4000 calories as well. The next day just by making some simple substitutions and better snacks, I cut it down to 1,900 calories EASY.

You can do it, I'm glad you're not going to let one day get you down, it really is a big step.

Long day at work, SO tired!

I accomplished so much at work today, I might actually be sort of caught up!! YAY! Just got home, mega-tired... Here's the log.

Chilly... Brr...

Dear Diary,

Oh hey there! My dogs get a little more insane everyday, I think it has something to do with the cold temperatures. Every night I sleep in a kitten wonderland, they encircle my head and chest as they suck the warmth from my body... Brr...

I know I'm not drinking enough water, I always aim for 64 oz. a day, but I just cannot force any more down my throat! I've only been averaging about 48 oz. a day, which is an increase for me, and my pee is very light yellow, so I'm okay with that!

I haven't been on the scale since New Years Eve, so we'll see where I'm at by the end of the week! Nothing else to report... Audios!

Still kicking!

Oh hey there dear diary!!

It's been a while since my last confession but I have not been gone! I am happy to announce I am now UNDER 300 POUNDS!! Thank you, thank you... I would like to thank the academy, my loving family, and my doctor who basically made me get real!!

I really don't have too much else to talk about at the moment, other than I feel amazing! I've decided I like this forum simply for giving me access to some good facts about weight loss, and I'm simply going to ignore all the fools who think it's their way or the highway! :smilielol5:

I would like to thank all the people who PM'd me about the end of the disasterous Biggest Loser Challenge I was running, and gave me some much needed support! You are great, and i heart you!!

Now this is it for now, because I am totally about to murder some sliced turkey in a letuce wrap!!
