Thanks Lena for your sweet comment, that made me smile. :D

Tiffany, I eat approx 1500 calories a day give or take a few hundred. I really try to eat items that are full of nutrition, but less calories, I never look at the fat content, I think we all need some fat in our diets. My real concern is just trying to portion control all items that may have a lot of calories in them, like those beans, I love beans, so I try to do black beans or ranch style and only a few Tbsp at a time, they are filling for me. I load up on the veggies, I love tomatoes and lettuce and anything you can throw in a salad, so I try to load whatever I eat up with mainly those items. I go for the smaller tortilla's because I can eat two of them for about the same as One large, and I don't have to go wheat on those. Lunch I try to stick with either smart Ones (weight Watcher meals) or healthy soups, with low calories, I love those!
Water, water, water. And I do allow myself treats every now and then. Like a cookie or piece of brownie, but very very small. I eat a lot of Jello, love that and animal crackers in chocolate flavor, because you feel like your being bad, but only 5 for 50 calories, and that's not bad. I love fruit, so that's my saving grace in the afternoons, when I want something sweet. I eat a lot of Watermelon and cantaloupe in the summers, mmmmm I need to check the calories in a pickle, because I love those, but I forget about them all the time. :)

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by, looking like you're doing very well! Keep up the good work, and yes, fruit is a great substitute for candy!:D

I'm very happy I didn't blow last nights dinner, I stuck to my guns and ate very good. Maybe a total of 500 calories for dinner that is. I had a very busy day and didn't have a whole lot of time to really sit down and enjoy my food, like I normally do. But for breakfast I had a small cup of cereal with 1% milk, lunch healthy choice soup, and then my dinner. I probably got in under 1500 calories, not my intention at all. I had senior pictures to take care of for my son and they turned out really nice. :D I'm so proud of him. Now it's back to the gym tonight for me a 5:30 group groove class and if I'm not to tired by then, I'll ride the bike or do the elliptical for 40-45 minutes, that would normal lead to about 10 miles on the bike or about 4-5 miles on the elliptical, I bust butt on those, hey if I'm going to get my booty to the gym, I'm not wasting any time there, I'm going to get it done!!! ;) The temps here in our state have finally warmed back up and we got a good rain last night, so HOPEFULLY that will be enough to rejuvinate my plant life again, the freeze really took a toll on a lot of my flowers and bushes. Well, I better get going, I have a lot to take care of before 5. Have a great day everyone!!

Way to go Kim, you're doing great.

If you're not already, soon you'll be working very hard at eating. Its something we must do everyday. Get the right amount of food in. It takes a lot of focus but I have to say I'm relieved its over at the end of the day and I can concentrate on resting. What I mean is I have become more relaxed and intent on my eating than I was in the beginning. I used to wonder if the food I was eating was making me fat but now I know I need so many calories a day and I have to commit to eating them. I'm rambling but I hope you know what I mean.

Good on ya girl.

Hi Kim,
It's so nice to read that the relationship between you and your sons have healed and that you guys are in a better place now - going through that teen time, and raising them on you own just isn't easy!!

I also wanted to mention if your puppy has allergies, you might consider listeing to the podcasts of my vet James Coghlan he believes strongly in a more evolutionary approach to feeding dogs, and one of mine was severly allergic until we changed her diet.

Hope all is going well, your nutrition and exercise routines sound GREAT!

I know exactly what your talking about. I actually eat pretty good now and after two weeks of changing up my diet, I feel like I don't have to really think about what I eat to much, I just make healthy most the time and I rarely think about sweets anymore. It's a wonderful feeling, FINALLY!!!

M2M, I will check out that website, thanks so much for sharing it with me. I truthfully think he got caught up in some Poison Oak or Ivy, because his skin is red and irritated. And very itchy, it's never been that way before. We live out in the country and he's always out there going through the trees and brush, it drives me nuts!!! But he's a dog and well that's what they do. I just feel so bad for him, because you can tell there are spots he really wants to scratch, but can't reach. We have fed him the same dog food for the past 5 years, he's never had a reaction like this, but I guess you just never know right. Thanks so much for stopping by I appreciate you!!

I did so well yesterday on eating and working out!! I'm finally proud of myself for sticking to something and not giving in to other temptations around me. I ate healthy and approx 1500 calories yesterday, then went to the gym and took a group groove class, they changed it up a bit last night, so I got a massive work out in, my shirt was soaked after it was over. :) Those are the kind of work outs I love!! Takes me back to my old cheerleading/drillteam days, and I won't bring up how far back that was. HAHAHAHAHAH LMAO!!! Oh it's so funny to think back then when I weighed in at a measly 128 lbs I thought I was fat. LOL LOL What the hell was I thinking!! Was I mentally challenged then or what!!! Well, I better get rolling I have a lot to do today. I'm looking forward to my work out tonight, Group Centergy and I will probably do about 4 miles on the elliptical. : -)

Kim,
It sounds like you had a fantastic day of food and exercise! That's the way to do it!

As for the allergies and your dog - it sounds like you probably hit the nail on the head with poision oak/ivy or something.

As for allergies though, that often takes time to build up in their system.
My dog woke up yelping in agony and could barely stand up one morning. I took her to our vet (the guy in the podcasts I sent you) thinking she blew out her knee cap or something. He took one look at her and said the problem is her back. After the xray he said that it looked as though she had been doing something that kept putting her in a pretzel position.

She had been itching at her stomach so badly, that we had put her in a cone. Being twisted up like that exacerbated the back problem.

Since we put her on whole foods (we feed the dogs cooked ground meat, ground fresh vegies and cottage cheese), she hasn't had a single allergy issue. It was like night and day!

Great for you! Temptation is hard, I'm ok for the most part but come that time of the month....may as well wire my mouth shut! NO--just kidding! I do OK--better than when I wasn't dieting! A measly 128 lbs! That sounds so great! I know what you mean--when I was 15-16 and 130 lbs I was always like, "damn I wish I could be 120 again!" I should have just worked on maintaining. Oh well, our bodies are wonderful and can bounce back toi fitness at nearly any age! Thank goodness for that! Best wishes to you!:D

Hey Kim :) great on managing thru the day and not giving in to any temptation :D it gets even easier when you start seeing the results.
and you will get thin again! believe in that.

hugs, Lena

Thanks Lena for your support. I know it will get easier, but I have worked so hard for the past 3 weeks, I just would like to see a pants size reduction for once. I dont weigh in again until Monday, I HOPE I lost at least another 2 lbs this week. I've done so good on my calories all week, and my workouts. I did however miss the gym last night, but I'll be there this evening ready to rock and roll. thanks again!!

I'm still trying to figure out this whole QUOTES thing, I want to put them all together, but I haven't quite figured that out. Thanks M2M for all your notes on the puppy subject, they are so useful and I can use any ideas I can get. Your dogs eat like kings, queens DANG!! Want to come over my house and feed my roudy bunch? Remember I live in the country I have 5 dogs total, 2 are indoor dogs and the other 3 are outdoor/indoor dogs, they are out during the day and stay in at night. They are ALL spoiled trust me. We are animal lovers all the way. But...... not sure if I could feed them like you do, that's awesome!! We feed them all Benefold, did I spell that right, probably not. LOL LOL Oh well, today is Friday the 13th and luckily I'm not superstitious, it's rainy and thundering outside, but as long as we do not have tornados I'll be pleased. Thanks again M2M, your a wonderful person!! Kim

Holy Moly Kim,
I wouldn't feed that many dogs this way either! LOL!!
I have two and they're tiny (a 4 pounder and a 6 pounder!)

LOL! :)

Hope your weekend goes well,

yeah, I do have a lot of dogs, but I only had ONE before I met my husband 5 years ago. I had my BABY "Buddy" he's and Apsa Lapsa, and he's always been my little lap dog, he's very loyal and attached, just like a kid. And then my hubby had 3 dogs and one of those dogs was pregnant, he kept one of those puppies and I took one to give Buddy someone to play with, well he got rid of the mother later on and kept the daddy of the puppies and an older dog he had for years before that. SOOOOO, when we finally combined households we ended up with my two and his three, instant family wouldn't you say?? OH and two teenage boys, he just had no idea what he was getting himself into did he?? HAHAHAAH He was a bachelor for many years, without any children. HAHAHAH HELLO!!!!! LOL LOL LOL Have a great weekend m2m

Okay, this is how bad I want this weight loss. Today my boss invited me and another coworker to lunch, On him of course. :D They all chose Chinese food. WHICH I LOVE!! I usually do a egg roll and fried rice. NOT TODAY, NOPE I ate A plate full of the following:

Cabbage
Onions
Broccolli
Green Beans- the real long ones
Mushrooms
and 2 pieces only of sesame chicken.
PLUS
WATER< WATER WATER!!

I'm amazed at myself. While everyone else was pigging out on all the good stuff I stuck to my guns and never caved. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!
OH, and they had icecream in front of me too, Oh boy did I want some of that.
The only down fall to all this that I can currently think of is ALL THESE ITEMS SPELL ONE THING!!!!
