Miss Ladybugs Diary

Today is sunny out again, I'll be tackling the yard work later this afternoon, when the dew is dried off the grass, easier to mow that way. We use a riding lawn mower for a large majority of the lawn, but we still have a huge area in the back where the dogs are kept and that I do by push mower, it takes about 30 to 45 minutes, but it feels good and I quite enjoy yard work. At least I won't feel like I didn't do any exercise if I do the mowing. :D I haven't eaten yet this morning and it's already 10 am, jeesh, bad Kim. Oh well, I'll get to that later, I'm having more fun sipping my first cup of coffee and reading everyone's diary. My goal for the day, is to try and drink more water than I did yesterday, I might have drank 25 oz, yuk, that's horrible for me, but today is a new day so I love that I can start over with no mistakes. Well, I don't have much more to say, so I will end my post for now and go read more exciting diary's. Everyone have a great Sunday and I'll chat at you later!

Well I did that mowing, and I have blisters on the inside of my palms to prove it, YUK! and OUCH at the same time. Our house sits high on a hill and part of the hill has grass on it, so you have to mow on a incline for someot it and it's hard ass work, my arms were killing me and I was about to have heat stroke. LOL no kidding, I had to quit and come in strip down and jump in the shower, I officially now look like Pippy Longstockings as I have my hair in two long braids. HAHAHAHA Hey, nobody see's me out here, remember I live in the country and I DON'T plan on going into town until tomorrow for work. Tonight its gorgeous here, since I did well today, my honey brought home some OJ and I have Peach Schnapps so we are going to mix up some drinks turn on the outside rope lighting and sit out on the deck and enjoy some drinks. This will be my splurge day, I hope the scale will be kind to me tomorrow. Oh well, maybe I will wait and weigh in on Tuesday.LMAO!! I feel like I did good this past week, so who cares what the scale says I feel good today and I'm not totally unhappy with my body right now. Hey, but in the morning that might change. HAHAHAHAHA You know us women, up one day and down the next. HOLY SHIT, we are just human YO-YO's (curves) that one is for you. Oh while I was outside mowing that upper part of the lawn my hubby was inside cutting up the following items: tomatoes, cilantro, corn, black beans, green peppers, green onions, avocado, salt, pepper and lime to taste. MIX ALL WELL in a bowl and serve with baked chips or corn tortilla chips, mmmmm we call it black bean dip, but how healthy is that?? I can just eat it straight out of the bowl with a fork. I'll be taking some of that to work with me this week. OH YEAH,fresh veggies, and beans FIBER and VITAMINS now I can for that. Well, I'll end for now, I need to get mixing on those drinks. Everyone enjoy your night!!!

Well like so many it seems this week, I to got on the scale and saw a few pounds up, instead of down. NO BIGGIE, I feel it sitting in my gut. I'm very bloated and I can feel it BIG TIME! I'm going to drink, drink, drink that water today and flush all that crap right out. I know I did really well last week in my exercise regimen, so I know it's not that I put any fat on, plus I ate really good and really watched my calorie intake, I don't believe I ever went over 1500 calories ALL week. And with my daily exercise I know I burned everday at least 300-500 calories at the gym, so I'm not going to let this syke me out. As I mentioned a minute ago, I'm going to do a daily flush and see if that helps. I do recall I'm usually pretty regular and for some reason I was off several days last week, so I think I'm a little screwed up in my intestinal track. Ooops, probably TMI right. Oh well, I really write this diary for me, so who cares. I was up and down a lot last night, my puppy kept wanting outside, go figure!!! I think today I'll suggest some time off, I'm in need big time! Well, I'm off to work, I hope this Monday is a good one!! Oh it's to the gym after work and group groove, I think I'll throw in another 8 miles on the bike before. :D I'll weigh in again in a few days to see if the flush did any good. Let's hope so.

Hi Kim. Glad you're not getting too worried about the temporary weight gain. As long as you're doing everything right, it is temporary. My daughter came to visit us this weekend, and on Saturday she was practically in tears because she was 5 pounds heavier. On Sunday, it was all gone. She's still learning about the vagaries of water retention.

As you may know, I pray regularly to the scale gods and to GOM (god of metabolism). If I were female, I would also make daily offerings to GOWR (goddess of water retention).

Thanks Tom, Very good advise indeed. I've already drank 20 oz, getting ready to down another 20oz by 11, then another, until I drink myself into a stooper today. I know that's what it is, because I can feel it. Thanks again!!

my first time here...well, in your diary

Hey Miss Ladybug,

Just started reading your diary Miss Ladybug (jumping about more like it), and I read about your black bean dip recipe (I like food me :D ) What on earth is cilantro? And when you say corn, do you mean sweetcorn (cos I can't imagine eating raw corn or maize). I think I get black beans, but there's no way on earth I get green onions. Green onions actually exist? Are they genetically modified? I have a feeling this is a cultural thing (North American vs British) but I honestly don't get it. But even though I don't get it I'd still like to eat it :)rolleyes: so greedy I am)

I hope you're feeling better and the retention's passing... Still going through your diary.. keep up the good work!

Hope you are having a great day! I guess this was just a weight gain week. Maybe it is someting in the moon? lol This is a new week, so lets kick butt!

That's so funny Rho that you mention some items don't make sense to you, I feel the same way, when I read others diary's not from our country. They sound fabulous, but I'm like "what" are they talking about. Green Onions are those small spindly onions that come in a bunch, they are long like a pencil and they are white at the bottoms and green at the tops, they are really good and we use them here a lot to cook mexican food. The Cilantro is an herb, also used a lot in mexican food, it kind of looks like parsley, but taste so much better. mmmmm the corn is just regluar corn in the can, I think it's 3 cans of black beans to 2 cans of corn. It's so good!!

Oh my lord, don't I feel stupid...

What you call green onions we call spring onions or scallions - duh! For some reason I kept imagining a round onion, but green! I was like 'Whoa - talk about weird looking veg!' but now I see I was being dumb as a lightpost...I think cilantro might be coriander (cos it's the closest thing to parsley like you described). The recipe sure sounds good - I think I'll add it to my collection, with your permission... (I have this habit of collecting healthy recipes so I can look at them when I'm feeling low and can't have the pizza/chocolate pudding that I'm craving)

Rho, sure you may use anything I post. I think I forgot to mention that I also add jalapeno pepper too, Just a few to spice it up a little. I think it would be really good wrapped in a wheat tortilla also. And YOUR RIGHT they do also call them scallions here as well. See, same thing, different names for them. HAHAHA

Thanks Miss Ladybug

I love my food spicy anyway (At Nandos I usually order my chicken extra hot....hhmmnnnn....chicken)

Funny thing, language, isn't it :)

Well, I ate really, really good below is what I had today.

Breakfast

Mini wheats (small bowl)
1% milk (1cup)

Carrots- 2 large snack
About 2 cups of the black bean dip, NO chips, just ate it straight out of the bowl.

1 Medium Green Apple

And about 55 oz of water< SOOO FAR, I will drink more at the gym and tonight before bed.

So far a good fresh menu, not sure what I will eat tonight, but rest assured it will be low calorie and fresh, mmmm I do have some strawberries, probably pop a few of those when I get home. YUMMMMM!!

It's rainy out, gloomy and I seriously had one of those crap mornings, everyone in the household was running late. I got into a little tif with one of my 17 yrs olds, wanted to put the boot right up his ass*** okay, I said I wanted to, not that I did. He was pissed because I didn't bring home lunch money last night for him and he had to use his own money, can you friggen believe that. Now you know why I had the urge to plant his butt. Anyways, off track once again. I had a great groove workout last night, and my hubby brought me home some new soups to try for lunch during the week, I'm happy about that. They are 200 calories for the can. Chicken and rice and chicken and veggies or something like that. I had my norm this morning bowl of cereal, I love cereal, so what can I say. With my 1% milk, I have carrots here for snack today and then my soup for lunch. I will probably get away with under 1500 calories today, and plus another groove class tonight at 5:30 I might stay later and do some running upstairs or climb on the elliptical, whatever I feel in the mood for. I will say ONE THING made my morning, It's now getting hot outside and time to put away the winter work clothes for the summer attire. So I pulled out this cute skirt/shirt combo, the last time I had it one it was snug against my butt and I was afraid to bend down even the slightest bit, today I put it right on and it's hanging. OH YEAH!! I'm just thrilled about that. I'm not feeling as bloated today, but I'm still not going to weigh myself until next Monday, I'm not going through another scale watch this week. I refuse, I don't care what it says, I've lost inches and I see it, and that's all that matters. I'm still crossing my fingers that I will be buying the next size down in clothes for June. YEAH that's my goal. Well, I got to get busy, so everyone enjoy your day!! I'm going to do my best!
