Milestones (Amy's diary)

Darn, sorry to hear you are sick, too. Big hugs from me, too!!! And big congratulations on hitting all your goals - I hope you feel really great about achieving them!!!! Please rest up and don't worry about goals while you are sick - just tuck yourself in and have a wonderful sleep if you can!!

My brain was clearly fuzzy as well as I wrote here but apparently didn't hit post. How are you this morning?

Hi Amy just checking in to see how you are feeling ? Better I hope . Cinnamon on a spoon of honey is great for a sore throat ( although not for teeth and weight !)

Hope you start feeling better soon, Amy. Here, we just got kiwi berries which I haven't had before and they are DELICIOUS and they're packed with vitamin C apparently. I don't know when the season is there, I think it's short, but I definitely recommend. Rest, of course, is paramount too.

Thanks all! I am a bit better, but not as better as I'd like to be. I get tired easily (and today is a work day) so I'm not catching up on people's stories as well as I'd like.
Tiredness is somewhat messing up my eating, too, though I have the best of all chaps here with me, who has been getting breakfast and supplying the lemon-honey drinks.
Yesterday I thought it was time I started cooking "proper" meals, and thought I'd make a pumpkin-ginger soup, which is surely the easiest of all soups to make - I forgot that cooking is a creative activity, which takes actual energy. It wasn't a disaster, but I took my eye off it, and there was much splattering of pumpkin soup all over the stove and surrounds (Much Splattering - sounds like a village in Midsomer, doesn't it?) and by the time I'd cleaned that up I couldn't face the soup and just had a lot of cheese (cheese!) and crackers for tea.

Kiwi berries? aka kiwi fruit/Chinese gooseberries/etc? I didn't know re: Vitamin C - thanks for the tip!

Anyway, not better yet, but getting there. Thanks again.

Sorry about all the splattering! My kitchen gets like that when I teach my daughter cooking. She gets quite enthusiastic with stirring and with the egg beater, and the walls and cabinets are often turned into edible abstract art. (She adores cheese, too!) Hope you feel better and that you get all your energy back fast!!

.. She gets quite enthusiastic with stirring...
This splattering was more because I took a short (not short enough!) break to rest which it was cooking - and it somehow turned into an orange Mt Vesuvius. There was lots left in the pan, but I'd lost enthusiasm for it.
a smaller version of the typical kiwi fruit,
We learn something new every day . Never saw them here .
Me either! Is it an edible skin, Rob? I mean, I guess it's not poisonous, but is it a skin which is easy to eat, like a grape's?

I'm still below-par in energy, but beginning to pick up "normal" life, like going back to work etc. Didn't wash the kitchen floors, though, despite their quite clear need of it. The weekend - it can all wait till the weekend.
Thanks again for your good wishes. :)

One more day to the weekend, hope going back to work didn't take too much out of you. Maybe you've said before, but what do you work as? Just curious. Are you a poet in real life? Teacher?

Glad things are beginning to pick up again for you, Amy. And yes, re the skin. You can just pop them like grapes. I think they're a real taste explosion.

Not sure if your work involves it or something creative maybe but I notice you have a high emotional intelligence.

No, not really a poet, just a play-poet. :) I do teach part-time, but also do some editing work which can be done by internet - so some work at home, and some not - plus work at home of the floor-washing kind, of course!
Today I'm pretty zonked, but definitely on the mend.
So far I'm holding the line on my October aims, too - which was to concentrate on things other than weight-loss (general fitness, skin care, ensure I'm getting enough protein - that sort of thing) while still being careful not to go up at all.
Have a great weekend, everybody!

Sounds like you're doing well despite being/havin been sick. I hope you get a good rest but be sure to take it easy another couple of days!
