Milestones (Amy's diary)

Thanks, everyone!
LaMa – I’m enjoying thinking through exactly what my other (ie non-weight) goals might be – I think for me goals have to be pretty well defined, so I can tell if I’m reaching them or not.
Yep, being just overweight will be worth celebrating, Rob – though there's still a little bit of a way to go for that one!
Cate - I hope the prosecco won’t have too much longer to wait – and in the meantime I made up a jug of sangria.
Love the balloons, Petal! And looking forward to hearing how the class went – and what your plans are for the coming month/s. :)
And also look forward to hearing about your mini-goals, Emily! :)

About “Timothy Winters” – one thing I liked was the sense of the poet’s silent urgent cheering him on, wanting so much for things to be better for him – and all the time TW himself hardly even saw how hard a life he had, which is often the way – people who are really up against it are often heartbreakingly quick to feel for those they think have it tougher than they do. I also liked the sharpness of the way it says “they say there aren’t boys like him any more”.

You summed the poem up perfectly Amy. I'll let you know about class later.

hackingcoughhackingcough... The weight loss side is fine here - at least, I haven't gained anything so far this month - but the fitness is taking a hit with a coldy-fluey thing. I'm still doing my in-house exercise, but have not gone to the morning exercise group - I'll keep my bugs to myself! Well, as far as possible, anyway.

Thank you all very much! About the energy - thanks for the advice re exercise, LaMa. I am a bit zonked, so will retire to bed now - i.e. not visiting long tonight.
Hope your Fridays are all going well, and catch you all on the weekend! :seeya:

Sorry to hear about the hacking cough thing, I hate that. Good to hear that you are not letting it interfere with your weight loss side, good for you!

Thanks, Rob and Emily. This isn't a lot of fun, especially since it's messing with my sleep patterns. I've been swigging lemon-garlic-honey drinks, though, which is always a plus.

Thanks, people! :) I'm just dipping in briefly before bedtime - mind you, I crashed this afternoon for a two (or so?) hours' sleep as well.
Hugs are always welcome, LaMa - and internet ones can't spread infections!
The garlic is because it's meant to be anti-bacterial, Emily - though now I'm fuzzily wondering if I mean some other wondrous property. Yes, I think I meant antibiotic. (And lemon for Vitamin C and honey to soothe the throat and to make it taste good - but I guess you already know that!). I've never heard of cinnamon, Petal, but I'll give anything a whirl! :)
