Thanks, Marsia - I'll give it a try. And thanks, both Marsia and LaMaria, for the cheer-up and encouragement.
Part of this particular family visit is cooking for someone else who lives on their own, which means I'm theoretically in control, except I want to make things which satisfy the person I'm visiting, so I make what they call for (and they love it, and call for a lot). The good part is that they don't call for cake or bisuits, but still, I'm spending a lot more time in the kitchen than I do at home - it
ought to be easy, but I am very weak when standing there in front of bread, butter and whatever. This morning, breakfast was not so good - porridge with banana sliced up into it (one banana between two), but then bread and toast and vegemite.
But for lunch I'm making fennel and cauliflower soup - if I can only NOT have toast with it, that ought to be all right.
On Wednesday - I'll be back with my scales; I'm really not looking forward to what they'll tell me.
