Energy cubes = 200

Supper

Exercise

10 kms on the bike... right when I got on the road a bee stung me on the ear and well, I wasn't feeling well after that... probably a combination of the heat and the sting.... I think it may have been a sign from the man up stairs telling me to take it easy on the bike lol

My ear is still killing me, riding at 30 kms/h can really amplify a bee sting. So I gave in and decided to treat myself. I had some popcorn as a snack... I'm so bad ass.

popcorn = 218
----------------------
1600?

I'll have an energy bar after this post... just to get me past that danger zone...

energy bar = 230
-----------------------------

Oowwwwwwwwwwwwww..that must have hurt really bad. I haven't been stung since I was about 13 or 14 years old so I'm not even sure if I ever want to endure that pain. I have a bike that I have yet to ride this year. Brand new with an imported seat from Holland. I have approx. 2 months left to get my behind in gear and start riding.

You are doing an awesome job. You don't have far to go to reach your goal. Have a great weekend Mike. :D

Once apon a time i was on a motorbike with my boyfriend going at 100km/ph and a bee bounced off his shoulder into my open face helmet and stung me on the cheek just below the eye.
The bee was still in my helmet and i was franticly trying to get my partners attention to pull over, which he figured out pretty quick.
Once we stopped and pulled out the bee from my helmet we went to a gas station for some medical aid. Man i had a sore cheek for a few days lol.
Im guessing an ear will be worse because i reckon it probably has more nerves etc (they always bleed more!).

Good luck with it! if all else fails you can always wear large pink fluffy ear muffs to prevent it happening again :D

Ear Update:

The ear is fine today... it was the first time I've been stung in about 20 years... I had forgotten how much the little buggers can hurt. lol

Likes to Bike - got any great trails around London? Thinking of a bike trip around PEI next summer and need to get out more - touring mostly. Wishes,
lol, I really can't believe it either.... I really didn't expect to place but after the race was over we stayed to watch everyone who won their respective categories... when they said "And third place in the male 19 to 29 category, Michael...."

I looked at my friends just to confirm that they really did call my name lol. I won a gift certificate to a gormet coffee shop in town, but more importantly I won bragging rights :D I never thought I'd do so well.

homemade chocolate zucchini cake = errr educated guess... 248

Man you must be stoked! I know i would be!

Just dont go telling us that only 3 people entered the race now will ya :D

We should have timed races of various types to go in with the '2 pounds a week' and '10 pounds for august' type competitions.
Only it would be 'first person to bike 1000km' or something
or a combined effort to bike around some state or other (no! not texas!)

cream of mushroom soup (homemade), and a roast beef sandwhich on brown w/ lettuce, and mustard = 730
milk = 186

sidenote:
I;m really really tired, and really really sore today lol

wow!!!

Hey mike I had to come read your journal. A triathlon holy crap man!!!!! I now understand what you meant when you said not to burn yourself out!!! I can assure you that I'm not that gung ho yet! I jsut started the weight loss thing today. I applaud you in entering and coming in 3rd! How absoultely amazing for you to take on such a goal, you have inspired me my friend!!! Not to enter a triathlon by any means, but when I'm faced with delicious pastries tonight...and I will be....I can say hell no man I don't need that, if mike can come in third than maybe I can beat this weight thing!!!! As for the rest of your journal kudos to you for making the concious effort to eat better each and every day!!! My hubby also loves the meat and potatoes, and believe it or not he is actually a beer condisour (he actually makes his own the old fashioned way, with hops and barley etc.,) so I understand the struggle!! He has been overweight his whole life and always had that spare tire. But he has lost about 20lbs. since jan.!!! He's loosly follows the body for life plan as he likes lifting weights, and he eats 6 small planned meals a day to make sure he getting his calories. He also takes one day a week off to enjoy his beer and pizza and meat and tatoes. I've tried the body for life but it's hard and i'm just not the kind of person to follow something like that, I have to decide what I like to do and go from there fitness wise. Sorry this is sooooo long...now that I've filled up journal!!! lol! Best of luck mike I know you'll get there!!!!
