MidGaGuy's Diary

You'd be surprised at how fast you can get your strength back. If you're still too imtimidated to go to a gym, you could always get a weight bench and some free weights (or a bowflex) and do it at home. :) I wonder if Hans and Franz have a home workout dvd to pump you up.

Nice job on the weightloss!! :hurray:

Hey You!

Wow, you have done awesome Paul!

Look at all the weight that's missin'! :biggrinjester:

As Martha would say:

"That's a good thing!" ;)

If I had the room I'd have some equipment already. I simply don't have the space without making some drastic furnitue tossing choices so I don't think it'll happen. I'm sure I'll eventually give in and go to the gym. Especially now that I feel better about how I look:gnorsi:

haha I'm glad you got the Hans and Frans reference!

Eh, not too good but not too bad either. This last week was the pits!:ack2:

Not shabby at all, man. Congrats!

I'm sure I'm weak as a kitten *L* I know I'm not as strong as I was so I'd have to start at the bottom and work my way up like a girlyman *L* :svengo:

Been there, done that.

There's nothing wrong with starting at the bottom. If anything, it's more fun. You can realize gains in strength much more quickly and easily! Knock on wood I haven't been hurt in a while and I haven't taken any significant breaks, so my strength is up there... probably near my genetic potential on some of the lifts. It isn't nearly as fun when you're at this stage b/c it takes forever to get even the slightest bit stronger.

I wouldn't sweat starting from where you are. It's just that... a starting point. Nothing else.

Thanks Paul! :hug2:

I haven't done well.... lol

Gained all my weight back except for 6 lbs. :leaving:

Gotta get back in gear. ;)

You on the other hand along w/everyone else are doin' fab!

:hurray:

Hope yer havin' a great Thursday!

Thanks Steve.

I will eventually get to the point where I have to make the first step and get in the gym. I think it's more of a mental hurdle than anything. I've found so much of losing weight to be mental as it is. :ack2: *L*

I'm sure you'll get back to where you want to be within no time. You just got to get back to doing what was working for you before!

Well I just got back from my consultation with the vein specialist. Not feeling too well about what I found out. Good news is there's no immediate dangers. Bad news is my insurance sucks huge giant monkey balls!
The procedures I need aren't going to be cheap:cry: and it looks like I'll have to foot the bill to have them:icon_bs:
Sooooo needless to say I'm feeling pretty down . It's a shame that money has that much power huh. Oh well, they print more of it every day.:ack2:

That does stink Paul!! :hug2:

So sorry to hear about all that.

I hear ya re: ins. Ours stinks as well...

I was in the hospital Thursday/Friday..

No telling how far that will set us back.. :svengo:

(see my journal)

I hope ya feel better soon sweetie! :hug2:

Now that I've dropped a good bit of weight I'd like to see about getting some better insurance but I dunno if I can get some that will cover this problem. If not I'm looking at about $13k:puke:

Hope you didn't have any serious problems to end up in the hospital for:willy_nilly:

I've been completely stressing over this insurance crap. I hate it. grrr:toetap05:

On a better note I hit a new low on the scale. 237.4:hurray:
It's been mighty tempting to just pig out tho and forget my troubles:piggy:

Congrats on the new low, man!

Wow, 13k. I'd definitely do some research on seeing what your options are on the insurance front.

$13k?? That does suck ass. :cuss: Steve is right--check out other insurance options. Heck--even if you have to pay $400 a month--it still beats $13k. Just cancel the insurance after you get the surgery...lol. Just be mindful of pre-existing conditions. Make sure you check that out. I don't know if a new insurance co would consider that a pre-existing condition and cover it.

Congrats on the new low!!

What about dumbells? Do you have any? You can do a lot of strength training without expensive and bulky gym equipment. I do. :)

.... I'd have to start at the bottom and work my way up like a girlyman *L* :svengo:

Why of course you have to, but just don't expect to get a kiss from me after. Oh wait.... you weren't talking about THAT now were you? My bad. :p

I'm hoping you found something else instead of having to foot 13k, honey. :hug2: Btw, your email was too damn cute. Thanks, dollface.

Well I talked to the Drs office and my insurance company yesterday. Seems someone might have made a mistake. I'm waiting to hear back from the Drs office because I gave them a name a phone # of a rep at the insurance company who basically told me they had not been contacted about coverage by anyone since 2001 and that based on what I told him I should have benefits for this type of procedure but he couldn't say for sure without the proper info from the Drs office..sooooo I have to wait now for everyone to get on the same page. Keep your fingers crossed!
