I just made 6 loaves of the best damn banana bread out there. Sean's working the late shift (11pm-7am) and I feel bad for the guys who don't have anything to snack on when patrolling the streets... hence, me baking banana bread at 9 at night. HA! Nice and hot for the boys to enjoy.

I got all dressed early this morning, so that Sean could take a pic or two, then pass out. Nope. It seems he had to work 3 extra hours. By the time he got home, I was already out and about at the gym and whatnot. Hell, he just woke up an hour or so ago... and I had to rush and throw my damn costume back on. I then find out my camera's batteries are dead! BAH! So he took a pic of me with his cellphone. Not the best quality, but fuck it... it's a pic. haha He's going to send it to my account in a few, b/c he was running out the door to go back to work.

I've decided I will be baking like a crazy woman the next two months. I just finished baking 6 loaves of delicious banana bread (always from scratch... I never bake instant crap. ICK!) which have been wrapped for the police department's late night shift, because I'm sweet like that.

Monday, I need to start baking Halloween cupcakes for the children around my neighborhood that I actually like. (I'm making yellow cake with chocolate buttercreme frosting decorated with a couple miniature pumpkins with fancy green frosting "vines") As for the shithead kids around my neighborhood... they aren't getting SHIT from me. ( I'm talking thieves, vandals, rude asses, etc. There are a bunch of little assholes running around here and I'll be damned if they think they're going to score candy at my house. )

When my sister stays with me for 10 days, I already know she's going to be bugging me to bake and cook certain things she loves. I just talked to her on the phone and she said, "So... will you make me those peach filled whole wheat crepes you made at mom's that one time? Please!"

November... Oh God, that's going to be a busy freaking month. I'll be baking pumpkin pies, custard pies, pumpkin breads, turkey pot pies, etc etc etc. Christmas time, it's always 10 difrerent types of cookies and my infamous chocolate kahlua cake. Busy busy busy... anyways enough whining on my end. On to today's accomplishments:

Workout:

- 60 min brisk walk in the hood
- 20 min Turbo Jam
- 30 min Arc Trainer (Interval Training, Level=9, Res=70/45)
- 50 min wt training: upperbody

Meals:
Breakfast:
- 1/2c oatmeal with sliced red pear and 1c 1% milk (350 cal)

Postworkout Snack:
- Wellement's Protein Powder in 1c 1% milk (240 cal)

Lunch:
- 4 slices of lean turkey breast on 2 slices of 12 Grain Arnold's bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mustard (350 cal)

Snack:
- Breyer's Blueberry Light Yogurt with 1c Kashi Go Lean Cereal and 1 small sliced banana (350 cal)

Dinner:
- Medium Rare London broil with onions and mushroom with 1c red beans and rice (490 cal)

Total Calories: 1,769 cal (1790-2140)
Notes: I'm a little low, but I think I'm going to enjoy a York patty while I browse break.com before I hit the bed. MmMMm bed all to myself. YAH!!!! Sleep tight everyone and enjoy your weekend!

I also bake like a mad woman during the fall and winter. Just something about chilliness and sweaters that makes me need soup and baked goods. I made whole wheat bread bowls for the soup I made Monday, and I baked whole wheat honey banana raisin muffins for my husband this week. Then tonight I made zucchini bread (because I had a piece at a coffee shop and needed more for breakfast tomorrow!!). I love to bake. I try to use whole wheat flour, applesauce in place of oil, fruits and veggies, and honey in place of sugar whenever I can to decrease the guilt. But I could never give up baked goods!!!

I like to bake, too. But while I'm on this diet, I don't do it much b/c it's too tempting to pig out on everything. However, starting in early December, I will be helping my mother make her famous christmas cookies. They are fantastic. We are not allowed into family gatherings unless we bring some. We'll make about 50doz christmas cookies. They are frosted sugar cookies. I'm not a big sugar cookie fan, but these are incredible. People are always asking her for the recipe, but she refuses to give it out. I'm the only one who has it--it's my inheritance..lmao. I think I'll open up a bakery and just make her sugar cookies..hahaha. I keep telling her she should take orders from people and charge for them. But she's too nice. I, however, am greedier. :rotflmao:

So Sheryl, your baking repetoire sounds fabulous. I think I'm going to crash some of your Christmas parties so I can get me some Sugar Snatch cookin'..:rotflmao: Just don't give me any zucchini bread!! :eek:
 
Yep I'm a big time baker too! (really). I make all the pies for T-day and C-day dinner. Roll my own crusts, the whole nine yards.

I'm big into pot pies with all the leftovers too, my boys like those more than the regular meal.

Not real big into cookies, but I do make a mean butter shortbread the occasional pumpkin cheesecake.

One year I made a for-real English Christmas Pudding (aka "Plum Pudding" but there's no plums in it) where you started the day after T-day with mince and fruit and brandy and kept adding brandy (EVERY DAY-hic) until the pudding was steamed on Christmas day. It was incredible!

I haven't done it since (lotta work) but every year I threaten to... but so far it's only been threats...

I love the Holidays, it'll be tough not to go overboard with the partying. I placed my Liquor order with the In-Laws who are heading up to New Hampshire (no liquor or sales tax- Yay!) and it will come to +/- $400.00 :eek:

Some will be gifts, of course...but mostly for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Pleasant thoughts! Should be fun this year with Davy!

Damn.... there sure are a lot of wicked bakers here at the forum. Hmmm... could that be why we're so "curvaceous and delicious?" Hmmmm? LOL! Hell, I've been baking and cooking since I was 5 years old and I'm not talking about making an egg or anything. I'm talking dragging the foot stool from the living room into the kitchen, so I can reach the counter and bake pumpkin muffins for my family at 5 in the morning during Thanksgiving season. (My dad had wicked faith in me when I was a little kid, b/c he used to teach me everything wrt baking and cooking... hence no burning down the house. HA!)


So anyways.... last night I finally got Sean to take a few pictures of my sexy Halloween Challenge costume. I have to say, I look pretty fucking hot...
