I had very few kids come by during Halloween. We had like 20 bags of candy expecting we'd get the same kind of traffic we had last year when we were living about 1/2 mile away. But this is a new neighborhood, still a lot of houses under construction. Lots of kids in the neighborhood but they were NOT out trick-or-treating. I had about 10 kids all night. I have so much candy left I could open my own five-and-dime. It was alarming that I had a couple of kids come by who were young (under 10) who were all alone, with NO adult escort. What they hell are people thinking?? I'd never let my kids go out by themselves when they were that young.

Oh well, just checking in MGB and hope you're doing good!
 
I love what you did for those children! :hug2: You are truly a wonderful person :) And yes, I'd be bummed out too. Tis the reality of life! I live in a rich ass place, I must say, it is a sort of bubble. Things are different in the Bay Area. aww how sweet girlie...you are seriously sweet and giving....me??? I refuse to stay home for halloween cause i dont like to deal with the hoodlums...lol No but seriously here they are like 16 years old and come up..get the candy and leave without uttering a work!!! wtf....go get a job...lol

Hey girls (Kim, Tammy, Kimberly, Val, Amber, Rena, Sara, Elle, Lagniappe, etc) and a few hot assed men....

I've been busy as shit on this end as a result of my sister, Randi, being in town. So I'll give you all a rundown as to what I've been up to.

Randi came in last week Thursday from Syracuse Airport and I had to make the hour drive (actually, it only took 40 mins... yah, I drive like a bat out of hell..LOL) by myself. I decided to wear my thick ass North Face 550 jacket with a pair of jeans for my 'unveiling.' She noticed my face and quickly said, "HOLY SHIT! You're skinny!!!!" I removed my jacket and my sister was screaming and clapping her hands. She was cracking me up, because she was yelling at strangers, "OMG my sister's skinny now!" We were crying. It was all good. :D

Sean was able to take off an extra day, so he planned 3 days of on going fun. Monday morning, we headed North to do a bit of hiking up Bald Mountain. It was a great 2 1/2 hr hike and my sister enjoyed herself tremendously. We then stayed overnight at the in laws where my sister was able to sleep in the living room (she had a room, but wanted to experience the whole 'fireplace' deal since fireplaces do not exist in Hawaii..) with an open fire that both my father in law and Sean took turns burning throughout the night. During lunch with my in laws it started to snow (Ava, NY- Upstate) and my sister was so happy.

Tuesday afternoon we arrived in Queens, where we stayed with friends. They were going to show us around the city. I spoke to Blancita aka Claudia on the phone during dinner, planning a time to meet up the following day. Wednesday was NYC day. Damn it was crazy. My sister was so excited taking the subway.. well that was until some big ass guy walked up to her and said, "Give me money." It scared her, but Sean took care of that. We went to Wall Street, Trinity Church, Battery Park, The Smithsonian, Soho, Little Italy... etc etc. My sister kept bugging me about wanting to purchase "fake designer bags." Let's just say... she scored in Chinatown. LMAO!! Good times.

The high point of the evening was getting a call from Claudia (Blancita) and having her give Sean directions to her pad. (I suck at directions..lol) As weird as it sounds, I was super ass nervous. haha! Meeting Claudia was great! First off, Lovette is absolutely beautiful. She has to be the happiest little girl I have ever seen. She kept running around, laughing, dancing, singing, and taking pictures with me. Claudia's husband was hot... oh and really nice. haha!!! (That's right, girl.. work that shit, ma ma. LOL) Mami, Sean and Randi, were really happy that they were able to see the both of us talk in person and they were tripping out when they found out you were a corporate lawyer, b/c you are definitely a unique (in a good way) person. All in all, Claudia is tiny as hell, but has the biggest heart. Meeting her was amazing and I'm really hoping to spend more time with her in the future. :D Love yas, Mami...


Oh and if people want to see pictures, you're going to have to wait. My dumb ass went and left my camera at Claudia's. (And almost my beanie and cellphone, b/c I'm retarded.) LOL!

Oh, I am soooo glad you've had such a good time with Randi--and Claudia. Damn, I'm sooo jealous! I wanna go to NY now and meet up with you both. Wah wah :cry::cry:

I've been missing your pervy ass, and am looking forward to you being back here more--although that will mean your sis has left, so that's sad for you. :)

Welcome back! Sounds like a fun time, it's always nice to visit family (well, usually!) and it's great to be able to meet online friends!!
