How should I work out on my abs, on the hard floor or on the mat or what? What mat would you recommend to buy? I'm not sure which type of mat I should go for so help me out please?

Cynic said:The swiss ball has been shown in research to allow you to work your abs much better than on a mat or floor. I think this is because of the flexibility the ball gives toward a greater concentric range.

there are a variety of workouts for both, on the mat and on the swiss ball.
changing up the exercises every 2-3 weeks would be a good idea :]
Cynic said:I do conventional crunches on a swiss ball, but I do reverse crunches on the floor. It seems natural enough and a lot easier on the back (which I need to be careful of until it gets stronger).
There is something else that is used in NROL, lateral swiss ball rolls, which look interesting. I hope I don't roll too far over, though.
Otherwise, I'm a bit undecided about the swiss ball. I may use it for push-ups eventually.
