Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

Hey folks -- survived the company... house all back in order... I am pooped... :)
View attachment 20106

- I sent the left-over cake home with the company... have only healthy left-overs remaining-chicken,ratatouille, salad,- did ok (mostly)...had 1 glass wine & 1 wine-cooler...

...Sarah- yes- the blender "smoothies" I make are a bit of acquired taste/texture...I do start with 1 cup water ( a gal I work with recommende that - it is bit more palatable if not too thick)...and portions - I have used either 1 apple or 1 asian pear + 2 sticks celery or 1/2 english cucumber ( peeled).... I did try adding an unpeeled zucchini one time - mistake! had major stomach ache ( probably too much fibre..)...they do taste amazing though ... hard to really describe how "fresh" the flavour is... just something about combining those fruits &veggies... will post once I brave adding spinach into one..that should be interesting...
- Family support has been pretty good - I laughed yesterday-when I was sending the leftover cake home - at first-mother in law was saying - no dear- U keep it...but then my sister in law chimed in- ... Maryann said no thanks...no means no... was so nice she stuck up for me.. lol...
- miss Smarty Pants...have'n't seen her since our "encounter" couple months back... but I am thinking to maybe call her sometime this spring... and get together...but with a positive approach - share with her that I am making some progress...and maybe she will feel encourage to brave a journey herself.. .I know I felt amazing hope Sarah - when I saw your story here ...that someone my age could be so successful with weight loss - your story really gave me hope...thankyou for this ... and your wisdom of "it's a journey-not a race"... is so wise and so reasonable... really helps keep a person from the stress of "high pressure" for rapid loss... just listen to your body- work steadily and consistently..it will happen ...and it is happening... :)

- Anna - U R so lucky to live with outside walks all year round- NewZ. is such a beautiful country...I was there on a trip a few years back- it's a lot like Canada- but WITHOUt the Snow !! ...
- so U R planning for another good week eh?.? want some company??... I have a conference upcoming in April - paring a little weight-off thru March would be nice...
R we gonna try for 1 pound again this week ?

- Justina - the family time was good- am so blessed to have lovely folks near & dear in my life ... was a nice visit - & I did manage to be pretty good with my food (mostly)...did have a treat at breakfast this morning ( we had pancakes..)- they were'nt too big - but I did have 3 ! eeek... oh well...gotta enjoy the journey too... back on track tomorrow... rest of the day today I've been good...

~ we did a grocery trip this afternoon -got some good healthy eats- mangoes, asian pears, and a nice big tub of the spring-mix salad Im' really liking... so all stocked up for a week of healthy eats...View attachment 20107

...wishing everyone a nice Sunday evening....
cheers, Maryann

Great job this weekend! I love when I have the house full of the foods I can/want to eat, though I don't love spending the money/time grocery shopping!

Hey all - sleepy Monday morning... another week begins - off to work I go...
View attachment 20109

...this will be a busier week for me- & a bit of challenge- have 2 nights eating out this week...will have to plan for portion control & healthy choices...

exercise: ... 1/2hr treadmill & 1/2hr zumba....& (maybe) 1/2 hr outside walk at noon( if mother nature allows) ;)

View attachment 20110
food: budget today is 1,600, had my toast /cheese brekkie, have tuna+lots salad for lunch... supper- am thinking omelette & left-over ratatouille

hope everyone has a nice Monday- with good eats & fun exercise,
cheers, Maryann

day going ok :)
- did get outside for my noon-walk ( -3C and some-sun...wind bit chilly-but worth-it for the fresh air...)

- noon-walk/treadmill now done, just Zumba dvd to go yet,
- food today- budget is 1,600...but my planned is at 1,217...think i will stick with this, as tomorrow and wed. are both nites out- will likely be higher cals those days.

- just had some tzatziki dip (greek yogurt/garlic/cucumber) with my ratatouille, -taste is great & cal's reasonable- 50cals for 2 tbsp.s. - View attachment 20118

cheers, Maryann

Oh yum! I LOVE Tzatziki! I love eating crudites (vegetables cut into bite-sized strips and served with a dip, especially celery & carrot!) with Tzatziki. Fresh food is just so good! I must be hungry as I am almost salivating at the thought of it! You are doing SO well Maryann xoxo Cate

-3 degrees - brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! I take my hat off to you to go for a walk in that weather.

Tzatsiki is my fave! And living on a greek island we have it lots and lots!

You are really doing well Maryann. Just keep it up and the results will show.

Another vote here for tzatziki yum yum. What a good idea MaryAnn.

We had our first cool morning this morning. I had to wear long sleeves out walking! It'll be all down hill from here :( I quite like the changing seasons, but really prefer summer. I think it is your turn for some sun though. We are almost in drought so it will be nice to get some rain and see the grass green up again.

I won't catch up with you on exercise today, just a walk this morning and then a busy day. I'll try to catch you up tomorrow!

All tzatziki lover are here to drool over your thread - lol...
here I am to join them!
I love tzatziki!! I make my own!! They are awesome with falafel :) yummy!

Sounds yummy! Greek yogurt is good for protein and healthy good type of fat, so double good choice! Excellent on getting out to exercise on a cool day...not cold, but cool! You're doing all the right stuff Maryann! Keep up the good work!
Sarah

Uh oh, tzatziki. The stuff itself isn't too bad for you, but I remember it most from a single dish: the dreaded Gyros sandwich.

Dear god I was certain that I would die with one of those in my hand. Glad I don't live in Chicago anymore. They have to have about 7000 calories in one of them.

Hey all - busy & bitter-sweet couple days for me - thankyou everyone for the kind encouragement.. I really needed it ....

... sounds like we could form a tzatziki club .... lol... I think it's the garlic that I like... at any rate- something that tastes good & is good for U- bonus !
(i've never tried a gyros sandw. - sounds' like they are hard to resist...good thing they don't have them here in the small town I'm in... ) .

Exercise - did my outside noon-walk yesterday, today was too busy - it is still around -3 to -5 C...but I dont' mind ...am a tuff-canadian girl - just put on my toque & away I go :)-planning to get out there again tomorrow...

food- did ok ( considering 2 nites out ) - last nite -did have steak - but it was a reasonable 4oz. serving (ribeye)-and salad & veg - avoided starch- so total for the day was around 1,600 cals
today- was a chinese-food supper - think I did ok - watched my portions - had only 1 spring roll, 1 small piece lemon chicken, lots of broccoli from the beef/broccoli plate, 1 spoon ginger beef-1 spoon rice ... think I'm around 1,600-1,1700 today.

- tuff-day on Monday evening - close family member got laid-off from work - ... very stressful - am hopeful they will be able to find something quickly- their lay-off was totally unexpected - I usually stress-eat when dealing with this sort of thing...but I did manage to keep my "binge" to some rice-crackers and a few squares dark chocolate... and was able to be supportive and strong support for them... so am glad I was able to handle things reasonably...

~ on a brighter note - today had a fun comment from a co-worker... she said " Maryann- you should not wear those pants anymore-they are too big ! ".... lol.... she made me smile & I was a bit embarassed too...I'm not used to being noticed... I don't like attention... but I guess it was good-attention... so I suppose that's ok ;)

Plan to try for a lower-cal day tomorrow( to balance these past 2 days of eating out )...

~ wishing everyone a nice Wed.evening,
cheers, Maryann .

food: budget is 1,600cals today - planned so far is 755 (bk & lunch)-so should be fine.
