Maryann,

That spelling of the word 'hungree', is that the Canadian spelling like 'honour' and 'colour?' I like it.

ya Thursday...View attachment 20051

"hungree"...to suffer pain-discomfort in the stomach region- usually from limited food intake - often secondary to fat-fighting... (from Maryann's canadian-prarie-diet-girl-dictionary) ... View attachment 20052

...good news - the scale is kind this morning - down 1 lb ! ...woo hoo... it is not just an urban myth, middle-aged folks can lose weight... :)

plan today: ( gotta keep up with Anna .... )
food: budget - 1,200 cals ( think I'll make a blender-smoothie again this aftn- the most recent fat2fit podcast recommended an apple-cucumber blend-will try it out).View attachment 20053
Exercise: usual- 30mins. treadmill, 30mins. zumba dvd...
(did a bit of "intervals" on the speed on treadmill yesterday... read that it's supposed to help increase the calories burned ...)

Woot woot! Weight loss alert!! Way to go Maryann!! The scale isn't kind...it's all about you girl!! Those electronics in the scale have no emotions...it's all about your hard work and persistence and good choices!!! So proud of you!!

Sarah

Another 1lb down. You are doing so well. Just stick with what you are doing and keep rocking that treadmill and zumba!

Thx Sarah & Mands... made my morning !

Felt so inspired today- it's a bright sunny & (relatively) warm ( +5c) for a Feb.day here - I went for an outside walk on my lunch break !! View attachment 20058

..what a feeling- fresh air & sunshine... had been feeling like winter was lasting forever...was so nice to walk outside again - there were a few icy patches-but nothing too major - I - listened to an older fat2fit podcast..was nice to hear Russ&Jeffs' voices... such sound reasonable advice their shows have

now off to do some errands - ....

cheers, Maryann

hope everyone having a good day,

That's too bad you feel hungry! I guess I'm lucky that I have really never felt hungry while losing weight, feeling hungry sucks! Good job on getting outside for a walk!

Hi Maryann, I have to confess to absolutely HATING(or fearing?) being hungry. Sometimes I feel like I must have been a starving African in a past life. I have to get over it! Water, water, water makes such a difference. I'm sure, looking back that if only I had a glass of water whenever I thought I was hungry I would never have got to 111 kg! I am really happy :D for you coming out of your harsh winter but :( about Summer having left us! Today was 27o C so I shouldn't complain though. Good for you getting some fresh air & exercise & another loss. That is another pound you will NEVER see again! xoxo Cate

Woo Hoo Friday !! weekend on the way !!

Hey Justina- I didn't have a chance to make my blender-smoothie yesterday - ... didn't realize the recipe calls for Kale - so planning to pick up some Kale today...here is the recipe:

Hey Mystic - yup - some days better than others...but think my hungree- dial is set pretty high - I did discover that for salad- if I have LOTsss - ie. 6 cups...that does fill me- so have been doing that more... it does seem to work , and will try & remember Cate's trick to drink lots of water... glad to hear that U don't get hungry so badly... lucky gal ;)

Hey Cate - water water water for hunger - View attachment 20063thankyou for the reminder... I was listening to a fat2fit podcast yesterday...and they describe cravings/extreme hunger when you go too low below BMR calories ( basal metabolic rate calories for current body-weight).. I know on my 1,600cal days- no problem with hunger...but on 1,200 cals days.. yikes...hungree... will have to remember the water & big-big salad routine.... I also find that days I have more veggies seem to be better hunger-wise too...so I just might need to remember to keep veg.servings in my daily routine....
& I like your thinking on my pound NEVer coming back !! ..... there is a used clothing-drive out here next week - am planning to donate my larger winter coat... have worn my next-smaller one this past month... so should be safe... eee. ... giving up the older-larger coat is a definate there's-no-going-back step...am bit nervous...but think I am ready... ;)

plan today:View attachment 20064
food: calorie budget-1,600 ( came in at 1,240 yesterday-was happy with that)...
exercise: 1/2hr treadmill + 1/2hr zumba dvd

...wishing everyone a lovely friday with healthy eats & fun exercise....

cheers, Maryann

Hey Maryann, happy Saturday :)

The juice sounds yum esp. with nutmeg!

If you wanna try greens in your juice try baby spinach or baby kale (a handful or 2) - they taste pretty good with apple/cucumber/carrot!

Yay weekend ! View attachment 20095

thx Justina for the tip about greens in my smoothies... will keep U posted on how it goes...

Plan today:
food- having family over for supper - breakkie/lunch-usual healthy choices- whole grain toast,salad/protein, supper- menu is mostly healthy-chicken,rice,salad,cabbage-rolls, Birthday cake... will watch my portion sizes... Mom-in-law is making the cake-she usually does it pretty light- chiffon & lite-drizzle of icing...

Exercise:

Hey Maryann,
Happy weekend to you too!! You Always have such positive posts! I gotta admit, not so sold on the veggie smoothies...I prefer my veggies in their original condition...I'm sure the tastes are great...I think it's a texture thing for me! Maybe I'll evolve when I see your posts!
Have a great meal with your family...I'm hoping they are supportive of your food choices, and I'm sure they have seen the results! I was wondering about your friend you ran across awhile back..smarty pants who was sure "people like us" can't lose weight or something...have you run into her lately? I'm betting she would avoid you now because she wouldn't want to face the reality of your success (ok, maybe that was mean!)
You're doing great...and very inspirational for me and many others on here!
Keep up the good work!

Sarah

We did good MaryAnn, how nice for you to have an outside walk. Winter here is such that I can walk outside pretty much all year round. We rarely get snow that settles, and never much ice...apart from hard frosts.

I'm going to try for another great week. I'm hoping to see a new low on the scales this week!

Hey Maryann, enjoy your time with your family & enjoy the food too!
You are great with portion controlling! :)
