Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

Hey folks -
Justina & Tru- yup - stepper is OK so far - did 15mins. at noon today ( am taking it easy from the beginning - 'til my knees are stronger - figure it's easier to build up , than to push-it & risk an injury).

Exercise today: the 15mins.stepper, dog-walk ( Koko & I went for 20mins. - sun is shining- not too cold today- was nice - felt good to get some nice fresh-crisp air - the birds were all chirping - spotted a chickadee on a moutainash tree in front of the house...) , and also plan for 1/2hr treadmill.View attachment 19598

Calories today: had 655 so far ( bk & lunch)...and plan for supper: around 1,000 cals ( hubby taking me out for chow tonite -(I checked out the restaurant's menu on-line- .. ( 1/2size whole-wheat Tuscan pasta, small spinach salad , a lite beer) & DON't TOUCH the BREAD Basket... so my day won't be too bad -well under maintenance cals

.....we are eating out 'cause it's my Birthday today - ...another year older-gosh...but U know-I am thinking it's one of the "healthiest" & more enjoyable birthday-days I've had - some nice exercise, healthy eats, and peace-of-mind..am so glad to be on my healthy journey now.

Have been reading your diary and I love how colourful & original it is - and how you're positively bursting with positivity!
I should pop by more often on 'down' days as it's very uplifting to read.
Plus you have some great tips to share.

You're doing a great job on the workout front. And of course your walks with little Koko all add up too. Just keep going and that goal weight will be reality before you know it. Super well done on assembling that stepper - totally the kind of thing I would mess up; I'm a wimp, and go ga-ga at the mere sight of a screwdriver.

And WOW on the 19lb lost so far ....!!! Congrats !

Very wise of you to decide on the menu online for tonight - much better to pre-plan than leaving it til you're sat in the restaurant surrounded by delicious smells and tons of yummy food all around you! Don't sweat it if the restaurant offers a small slice of cake. Nowadays our birthdays only happen once every three or four years or so, so treat yourself a little (not too much).
 
Hi folks - thanks for the birthday wishes ... & thanx for the kind comments Sophia - I enjoy posting my diary- (it really helps keep me on healthy-trak)... glad to hear U find it helpful too.

Supper yesterday... funny thing happened --- the spinach salad magically turned into calamari was their Tues. special - I shared it with hubby...but geeze... ...I did stick to the 1/2size on the pasta - but it Was served with a Large slice Garlic toast - I managed to resist it - ..didn't want to make a fuss & send it back....but I think I saw that darn toast wink at me ( I swear! )... and the lite-beer magically turned into a glass of red-wine.... oh well - as you said MrVee - only once every 3-4 yrs...gotta enjoy a little eh?

ok day today - did dog walk ( 20mins.) , food good so far- budget today is 1,600 cals - planned food is 1,565
..well , time to go do some pennance for the "indulge" yesterday...off to my treadmill,

I love what you said about this birthday you being healthier and fitter, isn't that great! You couldn't get a better present than that!

I think your meal sounds fine, you didn't go over the top, and you mowtly followed your plan. Well done!

today is a good-day so far,

did stepper at noon , plan for 2 x 1/2hr treadmill afterwork & evening.... ( will need it -as tonite is eating out for supper).( those darn relatives who want to "treat"ya for your birthday... don't they know they're messing with my healthy-eats plans.... guess I gotta learn to fit healthy "into" real life- ie. can go for chinese-food - just NO deep-fried shirmp...no HEAPs of Rice piled on my plate... lol....

healthy eats brekkie & lunch - ( supper out tonite-chinese...I'll avoid the deep-fried-stuff & sticky sauces - stick to beef/broccoli, war-won-ton soup... keep carbs in check-focus on veggies.

Hey! Thanks for your lovely post in my diary!

Treats are great! But yeah, we all need to make up for them with excercize...been there!! Once i was binge eating - ate all tortilla wraps on their own!! they came to 800 extra kcal!!! so i went to the gym and i did an extra hour on the eliptica/cross country trainer to burn them off!!! Also for me it works to have a treat for lunch - so i have the afternoon to work the calories off in the gym...I guess its just psycological!! :) it should work the other way round (excercize first, then the treat)

Hope you had a lovely night out Maryann. I'm sure that you will have made good choices mostly & will work off any bad ones. Having something occasionally that you know you shouldn't usually makes me feel so awful that I swear not to again. It's all learning & we never stop that! xoxo Cate
 
I did it !! - Broccoli rules !! - success on Chinese supper-out tonite - I stuck to the beef& broccoli, only 2 small pieces squid(yummy) & 2 spoons rice...

& my 2nd helping- Broccoli ! ( that stuff is filling... )...

Great job on the broccoli!!! I myself am not a broccoli person (nor really a veggie person) but it would probably be helpful to my weight loss if I was!!
 
Great job on the eating out, Maryann. That's one of the things that always worries me as well, eating out, and it's good to hear you succeeded.

So, here I am , the newly crowned broccoli queen - successful chinese-food strategy...Fill UP on VEGGies....
... thankyou so much Cate, MrVee, Justina, MrXian , Mystic - all that moral support really helped...
-... the broccoli was stir-fried... but the oil tasted minimal....& I figure still a lot better for me than usual deep-fried stuff we order ..... -

Good day so far today- did noon-stepper (it's geting easier - I'm up to 150steps before stepping-off panting...)

Plan for 1/2hr treadmill x 2 in aftn/evening...

Cold here ( -20C again - ick).... so no outside walks today...but forecast is nicer for early next week - then Koko & I can head outdoors again.

WIshing everyone a nice weekend , with healthy food & exercise .
