Marsia's Diary

Marsia thanks for the info on renewable energy . We have wind and sun . Will look further into it . I like the idea of hot water from solar panels .

Wd have lots of mulch bark or little stones in all our beds . We get some stray weeds but not too much . But there is always lots to be done . I think with a house Marsia you will never be finished . But good you are enjoying the work.

Gardening as exercise is how I'm looking at it too, Marsia. Doing things to reduce further maintenance is a great idea. There's always too much to do when you have a house & land, but it's rewarding mostly. Gardening is calming me down too :grouphug:

I didn't know you kept bees! Wow! Renaissance woman! :) And bees are such mysterious, magical creatures - there's so many centuries of culture from human-bee interaction that I guess they've been more closely observed than (say) termites - probably the whole animal kingdom would seem magical if we looked at it closely enough.

Great that your back is doing better, and that you're balancing everything - including rest! - so beautifully. Hear, hear, about moderation!

I love bees too and we had a hive too but they seemed to die off after a particularly frosty winter. You can get flowers specifically to attract them Marsia so maybe do that. I don't like wasps though.
I resonate with what you are saying Marsia and asylu get older you need to change things a bit. And work with what is available for you. You are doing a great job .

Yay for meeting strangers without anxiety! About the weed barrier: have you checked if that would work with redwood shoots? For most weeds it works because they run out of energy reserves (from their seed) before they reach sunlight but if they're connected to a large tree's root system they have almost infinite resources and might tear through the barrier. That's just me guessing though.

Yes Marsia get the jeans adjusted . Be a shame when you love them so much not to wear them .
you must be more or less near end weight now I am thinking .

I love the sound of your new jeans, Marsia. It's great that your body is slimming down and you can really feel & see the difference. It's smart to think about what you will do for yourself as you need to spend less & less time actually looking after your daughter. It's good to ease into that phase. You do so many things with her that sound like fun so planning fun things for yourself would be nice xoxo

The jeans sound great! About being "stuck in the 170s", though - did you see the pictures Tru posted, of women whose weight wasn't changing, but their body composition (and their shape!) changed dramatically? They are in this post:

They really show that the numbers on the scale are a long way from telling the whole story!
Great about figuring out major goals, too! I don't think you'd ever be "bored or aimless" - you have so much going on! - but a chance to reset and refocus is wonderful. :)

Our group focus on non scales victories like clothes fitting better or being able to climb stairs easier etc so don’t stress it will happen .

I bought some wonderful embroidered jeans from the thrift store that just fit, and now are way too big... I may have them taken in once I am at my end weight. I really love them!
Feels good doesn't it? I hope you can make your jeans fit, but being healthy is more important than a pair of jeans.

I am impressed that you keep bees, Petal too it sounds like. I have always thought I wanted bees, but when the time comes never have been able to actually get them. Someone around us has bees, we get a lot of them in our yard.

To be honest, I think some of the women in the before and after look better in the before. Not to take away from what they have done, but sometimes, women look better a bit softer. I think tapering in your waist makes a massive difference though.

What is your goal in life now Marsia, just to ask maybe a difficult question?

Hi Marsia . Sorry guys I didn’t specifically keep bees but we had a hive made by the bees in a bush . It was going to be moved by a bee keeper but it appeared to die off after some bad weather . There are beekeepers near us so we do get lots of bees buzzing about , also my brother keeps bees .

Marsia my husband works just like yours as you know but I have to say I don’t feel guilty doing things because it’s his choice . I worked very hard to get my kids up to adults and independent so deserve some time out for me . Enjoy your time looking at cliffs and exploring .

you are doing awesome work my friend x

Hi, M. :iagree: with Petal. You do an amazing amount of stuff around your place, which is supporting the time that J spends on work. I think you do an awesome job. Spending time to do the things you like doing is as important as anything else, xo

I wish I looked like the "before" pics, tbh,
Oh, me too! for one thing, they're several decades younger! :D But we are all getting healthier, and, I guess, feeling happier with how we look, bit by bit.
I absolutely love the sound of your early morning expedition to catch the sun rising over the sea - and of your book finds. Yes, totally agreeing with Cate about spending time doing what you like. I'm with you, though, in wanting to see and feel an overarching goal or direction - I want that too. Getting back to art and psychology, your two main passions, and especially seeing, working out and expressing how they interact sounds brilliant - I'd love to hear more about that. Or to see the art, if you ever feel like sharing. :)

I'll be honest Marsia I found my kids needed me more in the teen years so your still going to be a full time mom. But all in a good way. Those years is when so much goes on for them and it's great to be there to listen talk and help. Suppose my difference though is whilst they at school I was at work so my time was constrained so use your time wisely now to do all you want while K in school . Enjoy x

Thanks for your answer Marsia, sounds like a nice goal to have. I am interested in psychology as well, my thesis in college was on women and madness in the 20th century novel. I had to research a lot of interesting books for that one.
