Hey and hello, to all who remember me from before and newcomers!! :D

My name is Lucy, I'm a 22 year old Aussie! I'm 5'7 or 169cms.
I've had a very crazy 6 months of study and work and not a great deal else. I'm now a qualified fitness instructor, and am planning to study for a further 6 months next year to become a PT.
My weight has gone up and down a fair bit... Before the mid semester holidays I was down to 66kg and had been for about a month, when I got really sick with the flu... fast forward 4 weeks later of feeling sorry for myself and sinking into old habits, and I was suddenly up to 72kg!! (I just have to say... While I was at Tafe, I was riding my bike there and back every day, walking around for an hour and a half every lunch break, then doing up to 2-3 hours of exercise in class time... According to fitday most days I was burning about 4000cals and I was eating about 3000, I was losing weight EASY and as soon as I went on hols, it messed up my routine. Specially since I was sick and couldn't do anything!) I just decided to get through the rest of semester without worrying too much about it... But now I am SO ready!
I was super duper fit at the end of term (2 weeks ago) And then I spent last week with my family with a Tafe friend, and my first day there we decided to do a boot camp style workout and I sprained my ankle in some soft sand. So haven't done any exercise since Mon last week and I'm feeling pretty disgusted with myself! Ready to jump back into it. (I just wish that it was a bit cooller than 35 degress celcius every day- I'm too far from the beach!)

Goals: Weight- 60kg
Cardio- Run 6kms in 30mins
Strength- Do a real unassisted chin up! (BTW- I reached my old goal of doing proper push ups- I can easily smash out 3 sets of 12 now YAY)
Flexibility- Get my head on my knees like I used to

Timeline: I'm thinking 5 months if I weigh around 70kg- 2kgs a month is a healthy goal. So we'll say end of June!

My plan: Well for weight loss and my cardio goal, I guess I should really be doing cardio every day and absolutely watching how much I'm eating. For my strength goal I'll be doing weights 3-4 times a week, and to reach my flexibility goal I'll have to be doing extensive stretching or yoga daily (guess probably after my cardio?)

Here are some pics of me from last week... I wouldn't have a clue what I weigh, around the 70kg mark somewhere. I like having Mon as my weigh in day so will post my weight next Mon I guess!

Todays Plan:

Food
Breakfast: 2 fruit mince pies, 1 cup coffee
Lunch: Wholemeal english muffin with 1 egg, 1 slice cheese, 1 slice nutmeat, 3 slices tomato
Afternoon tea: Cherries, 1 cup coffee
Dinner: Rye wrap with baked beans, tin of pineapple

Exercise
Gym plan for today:
5 min warm up on bike
Leg circuit, 3x: 20 squats, 50 skips w/skipping rope, 20 lunges with 20kg bar, 50 skips w/ skipping rope, 15 fitball leg curls, 50 skips w/ skipping rope
3 sets of 12 assisted chins
3 sets of 12 chest press
Stretch!

I actually planned on doing a lot more than that, but apparently the only place hotter than my house is the gym with their stupid evaporative air con. I drank my whole 1.5lt bottle of water in the half hour it took me to do that workout and it made me feel super ill. I still feel dehydrated! Not surprised, I'm completely drenched in my own sweat. Ewwwww lol. Probably wasn't the smartest idea deciding to exercise at midday anyway, think I'll start getting up early.

One more thing- Those of you who remember me know I do a lot of baking and random cooking... Got an awesome recipe for anyone in the middle of summer like me!! It sounds gross but tastes amazing, I promise!!

Raspberry Icecreams (or any other berries you fancy!)

220g Frozen raspberries
500g low fat cottage cheese
1/4 cup low gi sugar
1 tsp vanillla essence
1 egg (optional- lot of people are worried about eating raw egg, I'm not lol)

Blend it all in a blender till smooth, then pour into popsicle cups. Makes 8
Cals- 95, Fat- 2.25g, Carbs 10.6g, Protein 8g

Well everyone around here seems to be thrilled to have you back, so I had to stop in and at least say hi! I may have to take some inspiration from you and get myself able to do some real pushups!

Breakfast: 50g oats, 1 cup skim milk, 1 tbsp natural peanut butter, 1 banana, coffee
Snack: Wholemeal banana and bran bread
Lunch: 2 rye wraps with tinned pink salmon and salad
Snack: Homemade raspberry popsicle, homemade choc hazelnut eclair (oops!! It was a teeny one from my Christmas baking....), coffee
Dinner: Wholemeal English muffin with an egg, a slice of cheese, and tomato

2 Hours walking

I have a really busy day ahead of me today. Heading down south for Christmas to see family tomorrow night and I'm making cheesecakes for dessert Sat, so I'll be doing that today. Also got some fruit that needs to be used so prob bake another loaf of some kind... Going to tidy up too, the place gets so messy when I'm home all day!! Haha!!

Got through today ok, shouldn't have had that eclair really... but hey, had to make sure they tasted ok!! :reddevil: It was only tiny anyway, the recipe said 12 so I made 6 medium sized ones and 6 really tiny ones... for people (like me) who want dessert but only a really small amount!!
URgh I thought my ankle was getting better, and while I was getting changed after my walk I pulled it on a funny angle and it hurt... now it's all blue and bruised again!! HEAL DAMMIT!!! Really want to get back into running again, it feels like it's been forever. I'll post official 'starting' stats after new years is over, I should be ok by then so I'll just walk and ride my bike in the next week. (Don't think I mentioned I bought a bike- I was OVER walking an hour each way to my classes... so got a bike and started riding instead!!! It's purple n silver and the girliest looking thing EVER- but I :beating: it lol)
Going to get up early and gym it tomorrow so the heat doesn't kill me like the other day. Then heading down south for the weekend!!!!

Morning all!! I hope everyone had a happy and safe Christmas... and ate a lot healthier than I did lol.

So my weekend was a bit of a write-off- possibly alcohol consumed made it worse than it would've othewise been... oops. Back in the game now, promise!!

Snack- Homemade banana and bran bread, tinned pineapple
Lunch- Wholemeal sandwich with curried egg and spinach
Snack- 2 rows wholemeal rice crackers, homemade raspberry icecream
Dinner- Wholemeal English muffin with nutmeat, cheese, and tomato

Exercise

Did I mention it's going to be 40 degrees celcius today?? SOOO not looking forward to that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea so didn't really go to plan yesterday. I was waaay too tired from not sleeping well in the heat, usually something like that just puts me off. Didn't do ANY exercise... and then eating was a bit all over the place too. I made what was supposed to be 2 serves curried egg (4 eggs) but it was sooo good I ended up eating it all throughout the afternoon on wraps then got snacky on a few cookies last night. Eep!!

Today is already better- I went for an hour walk and then headed to the gym after a light snack. So already a good day!!!

Todays workout was focussed mainly on my legs, here's what I did:
Leg circuit, repeated this 3x
15x bodyweight squats with 6kg medicine ball
50 turns of skipping rope
20x lunges with 9kg dumbbells in each hand
50 turns of skipping rope
15x fitball leg curls
50 turns of skipping rope

Lat pull down, 5 plates, 3 sets of 15
Chest press, 5 plates, 3 sets of 15
Shoulder press, 1.5 plates, 2 sets of 12

Then had a really big stretch sesh. Urrrgh I hate... hate... HATE the air con in the gym!!!! It's hot already today but it was cooller when I stepped outside afterwards!!!

My husband has 6 days off work from tomorrow so I'm hoping to get lots of beach in in the next week :D Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!

Hi Lucy from the other side of Australia :) I'm in Wollongong and it's been freezing here the past couple of days! You poor thing with that heat...
It's lovely to meet you, you're so positive and are doing an awesome job.

Hey Jess, thanks for dropping by :D Yea the heat has been pretty extreme this summer, craziness!!

My husband now has work off... I'm hoping that means beach and shopping for a few days :D I think I'm going down south again for a New Years party on the weekend too. Haven't decided whether I'm going or not yet.

Dinner: Was making pasta, but we ran out of money for ingredients on our shopping trip!! Instead we got a frozen pizza... before you hurt me (lol) any other Aussies will appreciate this. Woolies sells a brand of Italian frozen pizza called Vic's- most amazing pizza ever. They are the same size as normal frozen pizzas, but taste a squillion times better (personally, hubby and I HATE normal frozen pizza) AND... it comes in at 100 cals per slice. Awesome flavours too, pesto and spinach pizza and tomato and mozzarella are my faves. Nom nom nom :D So going halves on one!

Hehe I'm excited bout my bike ride, I haven't taken it out for yonks. I don't know if anyone out there has been to Perth but I live fairly close to the Swan River, so I take it around the river on the bridges. I think it might hurt today, it's pretty windy out there!

Just got back from my bike ride... Ahh it was brutal!!! Against the wind the whole way!!! About 3/4 of the way round I was so tired and pedalling sooo slow hahaha. Oh well, got the whole way round... and a plus, it's so incredibly nice outside right now!!! Glad to be home though :D I'm going shopping, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!
 
Well done! I'm so keen to get a bike again... I'm going to buy one when we get back from our hols (well if we're not too broke lol).

I love my bike!!! Hahaha it's so girly- it's silver and purple, and looks like one of those townie bikes... here's a pic of it. I wanted it cuz it has upright seating- I sooo don't think I could ride a bike where my bum is higher than the handlebars!! Also it has the squishiest, comfiest seat EVER. So I don't mind sitting on it for an hour or whatever :D
 
Hey Lucy!! Happy Holidays! Just popped in to update that I'm off for the holidays so no access to a computer. I will be back Jan.5th so I'll be posting again at that time - I've fallen so hard the last week but I know I will have no problem taking it off AGAIN! Hey Lisa, I was wondering where you'd gone!!! I failed really bad on Christmas too... actually it was kind of the thing that made me get off my ass and start eating healthy and exercising again lol. It's only once a year and you'll be right back into it in no time!! I have faith in you!!!

Dinner: Experimental homemade sushi!! I'm using brown rice and filling with chicken I have marinating in honey, soy and sesame seeds... plus carrot, spinach, and a scraping of mayo.

Exercise (Already done!!)

Todays gym workout I went a lot easier on my legs... can you believe my poor quads and my ass were sore from my bike ride yesterday??

5mins warm up on treadmill
3x 12 assisted chins, 11 plates (boo, a few months ago it was 9 plates. My back is so weak again!!)
3x15 chest press, 5 plates
3x16 barbell lunges, 15kg bar
3x15 fitball leg curls
3x15 seated row, 4 plates
3x15 push ups
2x15 crunches
2x20 oblique ankle taps

Skipped rope a few times in between exercises, then stretched.

Well I've eaten my last bit of banana bread, so today I will be baking!! Got to get a couple of groceries too so I'll be heading out again today. Have a fair bit of cleaning to do too, so will be busy busy!!
Argh, we were supposed to go down south again to go to my sisters cocktail party for New Year... not going anymore cuz we are too poor. Actually looks like we will be having a quiet one this year!! Haha, is it strange that I feel relieved cuz it mean I won't be drinking alcohol or eating bad food? Actually I don't drink much at ALL and sometimes when I don't want to I kind of feel like I have to... so kinda happy about that. It takes me too long to recover, even just from a couple glasses of wine. Plus I eat everything after a few!!!

So today didn't quite go as planned, had breakfast and my morning snack, also did all my exercise... then got a call from a friend wanting to go to the casino. So I went and ended up having buffet lunch- wasn't too bad, I had one plate of food including salads, Asian food and meat, then I had a plate of dessert... piece of cake, tiny bit of pavlova, and some soft serve icecream. Didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day though.
Casino was so much fun :D
