Lukewarm's Weight Loss Diary

Happy Belated Birthday!! You only turn 22 once so enjoy the heck out of it!

I hope you enjoy your trip to Michigan.. nd I agree with Blancita and cym - you might be on holiday but you're still working :( Sad fact of life, but you'll feel fantastic, especially if you find you've LOST weight when you get back..

Have a fab time with your mom, and on your holiday. I'll miss you, that's for sure! Oh, and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY again :D :D :D :D

AHHHH, how nice to work out with your mom. :) That will be a very nice time to do some bonding of course. :) I think your trip to MI will be fine! You do so well now that I have a feeling you'll be stopping yourself from over doing anything. It just ends up that way, once you have your mind set and have worked so hard for so long. And even if you do consume a few hundred extra calories, you'll be moving I'm sure while your there, so it's not like your sitting on the couch all day eating and drinking and not doing anything else. You'll be just fine! However, we will miss you during that week. And we will be sure to keep your diary dusted while your out. Have another good day today and enjoy your spin!

Kim Thank you, it was wonderful, and she actually came! She was so cute, she was welcomed warmly into the class and when it came time for her to count during jumps she was all "erm 1? 2? 3....4.....5!" Momma got into it after a while! It was fun. I agree, I think I will be fine if I trust my new instincts/habits.

Oh Sara, your vacation sounds like it's going to be so much fun for you! I gotta say that I agree with 100% of everything Blancita said...while losing weight while on vacation is sort of an oxymoron, what super practice it can be for maintaining in the big picture...where vacations and stuff are just part of life. You are going to be so stoked if - no make that when - you return from vacation and have both had a good time and maintained your weight. I have one suggestion (assuming you don't mind doing a little vacation math) which might make it a little easier. Take the daily maint. range you get from Leigh & multply it times 7...that'll give you an approximation of how many cals you can eat over the course of the week without packing on pounds. Then just use it to decide when/where you want the vacation type splurges to be...oh, and if you don't want to tie yourself to fitday during the whole time you could either look up some stuff you know you'll be eating beforehand and jot them down in a little notebook to take with you...or invest in a cheap little calorie counter pocketbook. Have fun chica!

Cym Thank you! You know I think you're absolutely right, if I simply have my weekly calorie limit, I can apply my heavy calorie days to the times I know I'll be going to my favorite restaurants (think Mama Mia's, the best from scratch Italian restaurant ever and the one that I waitressed/bartended at since the day I turned 18. Buttered garlic bread? Um they seriously DIP the bread into the vat of butter  I can assure you I will NOT be indulging in that diet bomb) versus the times I'll be too busy to eat proper meals.

Oooh, that is such great advice!!! Sara, you can do this! We'll miss you! Have fun with your mom if it happens!!:D

Valerie By the way have you ever heard 'Valerie'- by the Zutons? I love that song! Aw I'll miss you back! I totally had fun, and she enjoyed it as well. ;)

Rho THANK YOU! I will at the very least maintain my weight, this morning has rejuvenated my desire to do well because...

I weigh 158! I am solidly in the 150's! I know that my weight will probably fluctuate for the next few days until I settle into this new number, but what the hell...I am finally at 158. I promise I won't weigh again until Sunday, I know I'm not supposed to. I think my ORIGINAL goal for the wedding when I first joined the forum was 145, but I will be very happy with 155! I think that by Aug. 11th I will hit 155, and I can truthfully say that this is the first short-term/long-term goal that I've ever successfully reached, in a HEALTHY way. If my confidence has ever wavered, I'm a serious advocate of 3 things: 1) DO WEIGHT TRAIN 2) DO NOT OVERTRAIN 3) DO NOT UNDEREAT. I think that ALL of you & Leigh are brilliant and I should have listened sooner. I am having my hair cut for the first time in 6 months this afternoon and I might have Anthony apply a toner that will darken my hair to more of my mother's deep brunette, or to my normal reddish/auburn natural. I've been trying to slowly get rid of the blonde that I've tortured my hair with the past couple of years. I think that today is going to be a fabulous day. I went to bed early last night and woke up after 5 hours...I'm too excited to go back to sleep. Thank you everyone for all of your incredible advice-I hope everyone has a beautiful day.

I'm glad you feel so happy. I'm really proud of your progress and your determination to stay on track. You should be able to more than achieve your goal for Aug 11 - as Mal says, a cough and a sneeze and you're at 155!

Your 3 pieces of advice are invaluable - I hope more people pay attention to this, and stop thinking that starving themselves is the key to losing weight. It'll be cool if you post pictures of yourself with your new haircut and colour (PLEEEAAASSSEEE...pretty please with cherries atop a birthday cake :D)

Have fun woman - it's your time. :) :)

Rho :hug2: Thanks, I know! Why not eat, when um...you CAN EAT! I mean LAST month, I was spinning 5x week, elliptical 3x week, Pilates 2x week...I didn't have a rest day, I ate 1400 calories per day and I lost 6 lbs. in 4 weeks. THIS month aside from the fact that I'm eating way more, I'm doing weights 3x and spinning 3x and I've lost 5lbs in 3 weeks. I don't expect to lose anymore for this month at all, but I have to say, this is pretty cool.

I will post a pic of the new hair!

I am so happy and excited for you Sara for getting into the 150's so quickly!

So glad you can eat more and still lose weight. The bottom line is that we like to eat..that's why we have weight problems. So we need to fit that into our lifestyle but still maintain our shapes. I thought of this years ago in the mid-1990s, knowing I like and need to a eat a lot (or I get cranky), when I saw how many I calories I seemed to burn by lifting weights. I figured the heavier I go the quicker I can get out of there and I also thought the more muscle I have the higher my metabolism will be. I dont know what my metabolism was before but its not like I was a skinny child or anything (more in the normal range), so I seriously think my "higher than normal" metabolism (according to the RMR test) is a result of the lifting and also eating a lot.

It also helps to allow ourselves some curves and meat (even the flabbyish parts feels firm when you lift for a while) so we can eat to the extent we were naturally meant to. Some of us have very small appetites and consequently are naturally thin, while IMHO others perhaps aren't meant to be really tiny without a lot of hunger and self-torture, which seems to go against what nature intended. And luckily there are men out there for all types, some like really thin girls and others like em curvy but firm and proportionate :D.

Blancita I agree. When I think about our predeterminations and body types I get frustrated. Because although I simply am happy to lose fat right now, I know that as I get closer I always want more. haha. I remember thinking at 110 lbs. that I would do anything to have nice legs. I will deal with that mess when I get there.

I will experience serious withdrawals not being able to post here! I'm not ready to be separated from my WLF friends hahaha!

aaawww that is cute and sweeet - Im sure oyu will do find food/calorie wise when you are gone - it is amazing how much our bodies change and how adaptable we become to the changes we have made and enforcing htem :):):)

You've come so far in such a short time (and I don't mean your weight!)...you deserve the best vacation ever!

Oh my goodness Sara happy very belated birthday!!! I am also excited about the 158!! Welcome to the 150's! It is wonderful that your program is working so well! Your 3 rules are definatly something to remember when one gets the crazy urge to do something drastic and unhealthy! Congratulations on all you have done so far! Hope you have a wonderful day:)

YEAH SARA!! You've made it girlfriend into the 150's, that is so wonderful!! You will make it to 155 no problem in time for that wedding. Keep on track and keep doing what your doing. It's working and that's what matters.
Kim

Cinder I am excited to see how I do. I think I'll do well especially knowing yall have faith in me. Ok promise I won't get sappy ;)

Cym Thanks so much...I'm still SO happy you decided to help me out. I WILL have a beautiful vacation! Dude you guys are awesome.

Mishi I appreciate the welcome, and from someone who's accomplished so much on her own already, you're an amazing inspiration ;)

Kim Aw Kim I love you! Thanks woman, I totally hope I get there. But I am very grateful that you're here all the way, I can't to see how the next weigh-in for you turns out. Keep in mind you MIGHT gain a few on the higher cal intake, but it WILL work out in the end, don't worry about it. That's what happened for me so far.

Valerie Thanks, I appreciate the fact that you've got me in mind more than I can tell you. I HOPE MORE DROPS OFF VERY SOON!

Jeremy haha it's totally badass! Keep it up man, you're doing a great job, it's fabulous to see you working so hard.

Ok Chels and I are going to Destin tomorrow for an all day shopping trip, I NEED NEW CLOTHES and I'm now wearing a ridiculous sausage casing size 7/8, so realistically I need a 9/10. I'm pleased with that though, I'm certainly not complaining, and I'll ask Chels to take a pic of my hair tomorrow, I'll show yall! And I ended up getting more blonde  We decided...what the hell...it's summer...why not! Ok I'm tired I am going to sleep now. We played tennis tonight, I sort of sucked though.

Definitely show us the pics of the hair :D. I usually get the toner in between the foils so it breaks up the blonde a bit (the toner is a semi-permanent so it washes out gradually).

I again want to say how glad I am about this eat more/weight lift epiphany of yours. Smartie!

Oh YEAH, we are picture freaks here, okay, so I am I'm not afraid to admit it. LMAO!!!! Can't wait to see how your hair turned out! I know it will look great, your hair is gorgeous in your last picture. I hope you had a good day yesterday and and even better one today. I'll check back in later. CHOW!!!!
Kim

Blonde hmmmm......sure, sure, tell us it's all about "being summer"....you just wanna be the hot blonde chick when school starts again LOL

p.s. and you will be

Hi! I just thought I'd say hi- I've been reading your thread and it sounds pretty interesting what you're doing- that's awesome how well you've done with losing the weight. I am 21 yr. old and also am doing a program that emphasizes giving the body enough fuel and not overtraining. I do resistance training 3x a week, sometimes 4, and cardio is at 2x right now. Well good luck...I'll be sure to stop by and follow your progress:)

I am not complaining, but we shopped 11 straight hours today, and I was wearing heels. I feel as though I've just returned from battle. I'm about to drop! Great deals, great buys, some restored self esteem. If you notice my confessional/food log, you'll see that I ate 3 slices of pizza. I know...but it's been a long time. It was good, I was bad, I'm getting back on track tomorrow. I stayed at the cal limit thank goodness. Macros are screwed up like no other.

Blancita I want to post a picture tomorrow! I wish I either had MORE blonde, or NO blonde, I feel like the hair is a little half-assed. I don't care too much though, I agree, I LOVE toner, back when I cared about my hair I did the same thing. Thanks so much Blancita, I am going to check out your diary tomorrow, I hope you had a beautiful day. lol and any epiphany I had was a direct result of info I've gleaned in large part from you.

Kim gosh I admit it too, I love seeing pictures, I feel like we're freakin family. Thank you, grrr I just am lazy I will post soon though. Okay I hope you had a nice day as well I will so check your diary first thing tomorrow when I can get on! Have a wonderful night Kim.

Blonde hmmmm......sure, sure, tell us it's all about "being summer"....you just wanna be the hot blonde chick when school starts again LOL

Cym LOL you saw right through my excuses! I've gotta say, there's something about having a little blonde in my hair that makes me feel...I can't precisely define it. Though like I said, I wish I would have either had more or less, it looks a bit silly today. I might have him fix it up a bit later this week. You have such confidence in me, I feel ridiculous for having pizza today after reading all of your comments  I am back on track tomororw, I promise, I can't wait to check in on your diary tomorrow Cym I hope you had a beautiful day my friend.

Cassie Hello! Thank you so much for stopping in, I will stop by your diary soon and see how you are progressing. I'm so happy you are following such a balanced and wise plan, I wish I had done so as well from the very beginning, but I never would have known any of this information with WLF, I'm so grateful. THanks for saying hello!
