Lukewarm's Weight Loss Diary

Yeay!!!!! And you know what, I predict that the day is going to come when you are at your goal weight and some cute chica is going to be on this forum going "but if I take a rest day, and a refeed day, and replace some of my cardio with weights....I'll stop losing weight"....and you will be going, "let me share my experience with you....":)

Cym I look forward to being able to do just that ;)

Happy birthday to you sweetheart! Congrats on the pound lost, it really does go to show that the body does not like to be starved or pushed too hard. Great job trying something new and glad that its working for you. Hope you have a wonderful time at the restaurant and you ate to your hearts content, you are entitled for your birthday.

Happy Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday DEAR SARA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND MANY MORE!!!

~HUGS~ KIM

Oh and congrats on your pound down!!!

Thank you Val, Leigh, Blancita, and Kim! I appreciate it so much. I totally went over in my calories today but I can honestly say that I was very active this afternoon...so it's not as though I burned those calories off, but I did have 60 mins. spinning, 90 mins. pool, 2.5 hours tennis. (I'm rationalizing) Have a nice night!

I just wanted to check in on the birthday girl - I wouldnt worry abt going over your cals - you were very active!!! No need to rationalize anything...plus it is your bday everythign was calorie free - teeheehee!!!

Xorie thanks for the welcome! I appreciate it, and I'm amazed already at the wealth of information this site offers.

Well I didn't exercise as much as I wanted to. I walked only 1.5 miles. I'm rather embarrassed, but it's the first time I've exercised in 4 months, which is in and of itself shameful for anyone my age. I have to start somewhere! Did I mention that my goal is to be able to run a mile in 7 minutes :p Yeahhh I have a bit of a ways to go.

-Breakfast: bowl of Cream of Wheat with a tbsp. of butter and splenda, also a little skim milk.
-Lunch: Applesauce
-Dinner: erm Applesauce again.
-Water: 2.5 Liters

I'm on a liquids/soft foods diet for 5 more weeks however due to my surgery. It's rather unfortunate because I do not prefer puree! My options are limited.

I joined the April weight loss challenge! I'm really excited! 2 lbs. a week is healthy and reasonable, and it's so fun that everyone is coming together to work it out. Love it.

I'm going to start a miles log as another sort of assurance against becoming discouraged.

-Miles: 1.5

I dont think this seems to be that tough...I am really motivated to see this to loose some weight...thanx buddy:)

but I did have 60 mins. spinning, 90 mins. pool, 2.5 hours tennis. (I'm rationalizing)
Are you kidding me? Rationalizing heck...unless you ate a whole cake by yourself I doubt you went above maint. cals...and, even if you did (I'm whispering this so Leigh doesn't hear)....you only get one birthday a year...and calories don't count on your 22nd birthday:)

Cinder Thanks I agree ;)

Diana You picked a post from when I first began this diary, and I had a very different mindset then, so please don't think that it's possible to lose weight eating that little. I hope you start a diary so that we can all visit and offer support and advice. Good luck to you!

Cym Thank you, I decided to not worry about it, and you're right, I was pretty damn busy yesterday so it's probably totally cool ;)

Sorry everyone I'm a little busy today so I can't check diaries but I will tomorrow! Have a nice night!

Lena I absolutely appreciate any and all birthday wishes, thank you so much, I hope you have a lovely day as well ;)

Damn girl, how do you make it through the day on a lunch consisting of an apple! I wish I could do that sometimes :(. I cannot wait to hear you hitting the 150's. Should be really really soon! Leigh is lucky to be working with such a disciplined goal oriented person, and we are lucky to get to hear about it.

Blancita You're so sweet, thank you. Well...I was busy driving my sister back and forth so an apple was an on the go sort of thing. I have a feeling I might be at 159 right now but I'm not supposed to weigh...so I might weigh later tonight cause I want very much to change that ticker to 159.

Cinder Thanks I feel as though the past few days have been perfect!

Alright so today I'm not supposed to have any aerobic activity, but my mom has decided she wants to try spinning with me and I'm going to take her to a spin class. My mom rarely takes any time off to do something like this with me because she's quite busy usually, and I'm excited. I'm expecting her to not be able to make it but I'll be ecstatic if she comes! Tomorrow morning I'm meeting her for a jog. I am leaving in 1 week for Michigan, and during that time I'll either overeat/undereat, and I'm going to be drinking quite a lot. It's unavoidable, we're going to a concert on the 3rd in Escanaba, bachelorette party on the 4th out at a friend's camp, wedding on the 11th, and partying in between all of those days. I will not have much opportunity if any to exercise besides dancing, and jogging with my mom on the mornings I can wake myself up early enough to join her. My prediction is that I'll return home on August 15th bloated, exhausted and about 4 lbs. heavier/lighter. Probably heavier. I won't be able to post at all for 2 weeks straight either so my diary is going to be a lonely place and I'll have lots of catching up to do when I come back. The good news is that I'll have pictures to share! But I just wanted to post my disclaimer of "I'm going to try to do well, but I am not holding myself up to any great expectations regarding this vacation." Alright. I have gotten it out of my system, and I'm just going to be very very good until August 1st. I hope you all have a lovely day!

I think this trip to MI will be the perfect break for you, a way to recharge your batteries after months of strictly following your disciplined weight loss plan. There is no rush in getting the weight off and a few weeks off will not make a difference in the grand scheme of life. However, I do think you should make the effort to avoid gaining. You need to learn how to maintain and you can eat/drink a fair amount on maintenance calories witih no exercise. For someone like you who's used to such a low calorie level, you should have plenty of room to eat more and still not gain. Why not ask Leigh how many calories would be maintenance, and practice staying there by quickly logging your calories in fitday. I know you'll be busy but I think it will help to know what was going on while your away. It would be really disheartening for you to gain, and I'm confident you can avoid it and just stay where you are. We will be experiencing "Sara Withdrawal" while you're away of course.

Blancita You're right. I really would be unhappy if I gained. I did write Leigh an email last night but I was pretty tired so I'm not sure exactly what I wrote haha...I hope she does give me a general caloric maintenance range to stick to while I'm there. I do a very decent job estimating calories now (it's getting much easier) but it's going to be an hour to hour thing where I will have to make good decisions. It will be interesting for sure, and you have it right on about making maintenance a goal. I will experience serious withdrawals not being able to post here! I'm not ready to be separated from my WLF friends hahaha!

AHHHH, how nice to work out with your mom. :) That will be a very nice time to do some bonding of course. :) I think your trip to MI will be fine! You do so well now that I have a feeling you'll be stopping yourself from over doing anything. It just ends up that way, once you have your mind set and have worked so hard for so long. And even if you do consume a few hundred extra calories, you'll be moving I'm sure while your there, so it's not like your sitting on the couch all day eating and drinking and not doing anything else. You'll be just fine! However, we will miss you during that week. And we will be sure to keep your diary dusted while your out. Have another good day today and enjoy your spin!
Kim

Oh Sara, your vacation sounds like it's going to be so much fun for you! I gotta say that I agree with 100% of everything Blancita said...while losing weight while on vacation is sort of an oxymoron, what super practice it can be for maintaining in the big picture...where vacations and stuff are just part of life.

You are going to be so stoked if - no make that when - you return from vacation and have both had a good time and maintained your weight. I have one suggestion (assuming you don't mind doing a little vacation math) which might make it a little easier. Take the daily maint. range you get from Leigh & multply it times 7...that'll give you an approximation of how many cals you can eat over the course of the week without packing on pounds. Then just use it to decide when/where you want the vacation type splurges to be...oh, and if you don't want to tie yourself to fitday during the whole time you could either look up some stuff you know you'll be eating beforehand and jot them down in a little notebook to take with you...or invest in a cheap little calorie counter pocketbook. Have fun chica!
