Lukewarm's Weight Loss Diary

Hope you are having a wonderful road trip. ...little mini-vacation road trips are soo much fun, I actually like them better than extended vacations. The spinning class sounds like a lot of fun...I bet between that and all the tennis and the lean muscle class you are going to end up with one of those long, lean "dancer" type bodies.

Xorie You should try it! I know what you mean about not being flexible enough yet, but that’s the thing, your flexibility will improve immensely if you take it regularly. Hope you try it sometime!

RhoRho Yes, I intensely dislike being treated that way also. But thank you, and I appreciate your support so much. I did make it to my goal! I just got home however and I see I regained a pound. I expected it though, and I’ll work it off!

2Skinny Thank you! I hope I’m able to screech those very words soon! I love the lyrics…and Cat Stevens, you’re wonderful. That protein intake was hard to fit in! I hope to manage that amount on a more regular basis.

Risty Thanks! I remember you advising me about the resistance bands a while ago and I must say you’re right. I still feel it! I hope to see results in my arms soon, I’ve gotta say that I took having nice arms for granted and now I can’t wait to see ‘em again!

Cym I totally enjoyed my road trip. I agree about mini vacations, I feel incredibly rejuvenated, but I was itching to get back home and to my schedule. I miss the gym…Who said that? ME? Couldn’t be ;o) Thank you for your comments, :sigh: lean dancer body…can I get that by dancing in my living room? haha or grooving in my car? I WANT IT!

Thank you everyone for all of your kind words and encouragement, it’s so nice to come home and see the messages ;o) I had a fantastic trip and Chels and I had a lovely weekend with my dad, he enjoyed his Father’s day. Though we were near Tampa I felt more like we were in Louisiana. My dad’s condo was set directly on this beautiful lagoon that was more swamp than river. I loved chilling on the porch, this ‘condo’ was more like a cottage, it was super cute. A lot of wicker though…I’m not into wicker, but it was charming. I saw lizards and hawks…I saw a hawk kill a squirrel which was fascinating. Some places feel frozen in time and it was a transportation to another world. I had fun. I managed to keep my cals at 1400 on Thursday, 1600 on Friday, and 1683 on Saturday. Today I’m at 1100 but I’m not eating anymore tonight. I’m pretty tired. I wrote down everything I ate in a journal and I went grocery shopping Friday morning so I ate almost exactly the same stuff I ate here, which I was really happy about. We did go out for dinner on Friday for our Father’s day so as to avoid the normal holiday crowd today, and I was really good. I had blackened grouper and green beans, also a baked potato with butter and sour cream. I also had a hushpuppy which was BAD I know, but totally delicious. I rode bikes with my sister, but aside from that I didn’t get my exercise in. I’m just going to get back to it tomorrow with the Pilates/spinning and I’m going to try and make up for it with a couple low-cal days. I weigh 166 at the moment, but that’s alright, I’ll lose it. Thanks again everyone, and though I’m not posting my usual breakdown of food, I’m going to begin again tomorrow. I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Now I’m going to go sleep in my bed and enjoy being home.

Hello you.

Welcome back. I'm SO glad you enjoyed your trip - you needed to have a break away from all this. I guess your time away makes you appreciate what you have at home. Your trip sounds beautiful, wicker or not (I actually quite like wicker, although perhaps not in my home...not until I grow old maybe). I know what you mean about being transported into another world. I walked within London this weekend and discovered so many areas that harked back to 18th century England with the wharfs and the horrible prisons and stuff - it really felt like I was back at that time. Still, yours sounds a lot nicer (except for the hawk part - ewwwww).

Good luck with tomorrow's spinning session - I'm sure you'll put a lot of effort into it now that you feel all energised :D

sometimes you just gotta have those splurges - one hushpuppy wont kill you in the grand scheme of things :)

glad you enjoyed your mini-break :D

Luke your weekend sounds fantastic, so relaaaaaxing on the porch. (I don't like wicker either). You did great on food intake, buying your own groceries, waiting for Father's Day meal to have one single treat, geez, good going! That's amazing you saw a hawk kill a squirrel. This weekend my dog Rufus made a friend in the backyard, a squirrel that was chirping away madly at him. It kept running vertically down the tree to just about Rufus' head, whereupon Rufus would bark and it would scoot right back up to the top of the tree and look down at him, chirping. It did this about 5 times. Then we took Rufus inside and we saw him through the window, sitting on his branch looking at our door. LOL

Hope you had a good sleep and have a great Monday.

RhoRho I think that’s so cool! :) If I lived in England…oh man I’d go crazy exploring. Thanks ;o) I had fun but now I’m happy to be back and on to my normal stuff.

Maleficent Thanks :) I agree. I felt guilty about it that night but now I don’t…whatever it was yummy and I never get to have them!

I missed my Pilates/spinning class today, I think I was more tired from the drive than I thought...so I'm going to a 60 min. spin class in a couple of hours. I have to run around and do some errands but I hope you all have a beautiful day. :)

2Skinny :rotflmao: That's super cute! I wish I had a dog sometimes it would be so nice to have a little companion. Aw, your story is cute and cuddly and mine is a bit not so nice...we were worried the hawk was stuck in some ferns by the water until he flapped his giant wings and we saw his squirrel clenched in his talons. I know it's gross but it was a really interesting thing to see. Thanks I hope you have a nice day too :)

Afternoon Sara!! Oh you had such a nice time, I'm happy for you!! That cottage sounds gorgeous and very calming by the way you describe it. I had squirrel problems this weekend also, those damn things, I brought out the bee-bee gun and shot a few, but I think it only scares them away temporarily anyways, I could never shoot one dead, I'm such an animal lover I would ball my eyes out. HAHAHA But scaring them that's a different story. They keep getting up on my bird feeders. Oh, I wanted to say you did VERY GOOD on your food intake for being away for those days. I'm leaving at the end of this week, but I doubt I'll do as good as you. When I travel I like to try different restaurants, but hopefully, I can get stuff light or on the side. We will see! I'm doubling up on my workouts for the next three days, at least I won't feel so bad when I do go over my calories. Well, it's good to see your back and had a great time!! That's what vacation is all about! Today, I hope your feeling rested and I hope you get your workouts in too. CHOW BABES!
Kim

Miss Ladybug I have no doubts that you’re going to do just fine on your trip, you’re the one that never wavers! Thanks though, I think I did pretty well too ;o) But I didn’t exercise and I wish I had been doing double-ups like you are before I went on my trip. I hope you have a beautiful time, I know you will :)

haha my dad just called and reminded me that I’ve gotta watch out cause sometimes you’re just a little squirrel hopping about hustling around looking for some nuts, and then the next thing you know you’re clenched tight in some razor sharp talons. Little things like that remind me to be very grateful that I’m able to scurry about. I went to my spin class tonight and I don’t know if I worked harder than usual or if the 3 days of no serious exercise caused me to sweat more than I’ve ever sweated before. I know that is super gross, but the instructor kicked my ass today. This cute couple came in together for the first time tonight and they came up to me after the class and asked how I like it and have I seen results, what’s my opinion, etc. (They thought I looked like a ‘regular’!) I was caught off guard and truly flattered that anyone could look at me and think ‘gym rat’ or ‘girl who knows what she’s doing’ I smiled the sweatiest gap-toothed grin ever (isn’t that nice) and told them that I’ve lost 10 lbs since I’ve started spinning and that I am now addicted. The men were so sweet and started congratulating me and I got embarrassed, but the lovely kind where you let people fawn and make you feel good :) :sigh: I love the gym, ooh but my Pilates instructor attended the class too and we joked about how I looked guilty because I missed her class this afternoon. I’m so there on Wednesday. I lifted arms and back tonight on the machines, I dislike the butterfly machine, I always have, so I know that I must do it.

wow... you are really getting into it! I wish I had your motivation! I've hit a wall and just can't seem to climb over it, but I am so happy that you've gone over the wall, and are running away from it! You're doing so well that you're an inspiration to me! Keep it up!

Pinky Dolly Thanks! :) It really is motivating...I want to hurry and lose the next 10 lbs. but I must be patient...argh.

Xorie Oh! :) You're sweet, but you do have the motivation! If I can dig it out from within, so can you. I think that you'll probably be able to focus more once school is out.

*crosses fingers* hopefully. on top of school work, the Equine Rescue where I work has to be out by the 29th...And we still don't have a place. There are offers, but they don't work. Too far away, and the rescue would lose all volunteers, or hilly land, or no water... the list goes on and on...I'm slightly stressing about that too... But, keep your fingers crossed that some rich miracle angle comes and rescues us!

Xorie I'm definitely hoping that a miracle with lots of money can save the equine rescue. I know you're stressing about the end of the school year, and I'm still shocked yall are still in school. Hope everything works out for you.

I wanted to post that I'm damn happy peanut butter is a good fat, because sliced up apples dipped in melted peanut butter is divine. DIVINE! I know I scarf entirely too much peanut butter, which is throwing off my macro ratio nearly every day. Tomorrow I'll try to keep it at 4 Tbsp. and get more protein in. Must get more protein. Also it's increasingly difficult for me to get my water in lately, I've got to work on that as well. I also want to say that I love corn, and I'm sad that I spent most of my life slathering butter on my corn and dousing it in salt...oh mother why didn't you tell me corn was so sweet all by itself. Cripe I'm such a food freak. I'm excited to go to bed, so that I can wake up and eat. Wow with that, I'm going to bed...haha have a nice night everyone.

Oh my lawd, you sure make me laugh. You get really passionate about food and just love getting into it...Reminds me of someone sometimes (I wonder who... )

It's fantastic when you realise food isn't the enemy, and all you've got to do is balance your intake appropriately so you get the correct nutrients and enough energy to facilitate your weight loss. I still have a continuous battle with food (right now I'm in a bit of a food funk where food just doesn't interest me), but I hope it gets better.

You cracked me up with your story about being fawned over in the gym... You deserve it. After feeling bad about your weight for so long, it's great to be complemented about the results of your hard work. You've worked your a&& off at the gym since you started (sweat and all, lol) So enjoy the results of your hard work, and keep it up. Talk about inspiration! :)

Hey Sara, so what did end up happening with the whey protein powder? You got vanilla flavor and didn't like it? Here those flavored bags cost $15 and you got the 2nd one for 1/2 price so I'm surprised they were $30, but they really do taste delish with skim milk. I had bought a different brand of whey protein and it was NASTY! Still sitting on the shelf, why I dont throw it out I'm not sure.

So, you reached your mini goal! That is so great. I'm happy for you...

Hey there Sara!! Congrats on the mini goal, and yes, I'm an absolute food-lover! Hope to hear from you soon and here's a treat for ya:

RhoRho LOL I know! It’s good we’re food freaks I hope you start feeling food again, it’s so much fun! Thanks ;o) I enjoyed my moment, and now I just want to reach 150. My new goal is 150 lbs. and I actually didn’t feel like too much of a horse at that weight so I’m excited.

Blancita Actually I do like the unflavored whey protein you suggested, and I’m going to make myself a smoothie this evening after spinning. I felt incredibly full after I made the shake last time and it weirded me out but I do intend to use it today!

Curvie Girlie LOL thank you for that sexy addition to my diary, very nice! I appreciate it hahaha. I think it's cool we're all food-lovers. Makes this whole weight-loss thing interesting.

So Cym gave me this fabulous little recipe for the cream cheese wontons that I’m going to make for lunch today…I can’t wait to see how they turn out. I haven’t yet decided what I want for breakfast but it’s probably going to be apples/peanut butter and then egg whites. I have been getting pretty sick of eggbeaters so I bought some cage free vegetarian fed chick eggs…I feel good about that. So between all that and my protein shake I think I’ll be able to reach that 85 grams of protein this after and my water goal is 4 Liters. I hope to do weights/legs tonight as well as spinning, and I’m also going to try to go on the elliptical for at least 30 mins. after spinning. I need to see 150. I have 3 vacations coming up in the next 6 mos.

First: Aug. 1st-Aug. 14th- Best friends wedding in Ishpeming Michigan.
Second: Dec. 11th- Dec. 20th- Vacation in Sedona Arizona/white-water rafting!
Third: Dec. 22nd- Jan. 1st- Christmas vacation in Ishpeming Michigan.

I’m very lucky and those trips are some serious motivation for me to keep it up and do the best I can.

-Breakfast: 1 Med. Apple w/ 4 Tbsp. Peanut Butter- 461 calories/16 grams protein
-Lunch: 2 Cream Cheese Wontons- 300 calories/7 grams protein & 5 Egg Whites- 82 calories/17 grams protein
-Snack: 1 Ear of Corn- 90 calories/4 grams protein

-Total Cals: 1423 Calories
