As for the questions...
-- How much weight do you want to lose? 15 pounds
-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? Christmas
-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? returning to a healthier diet and 4-5 workouts a week
-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? Being able to be comfortable in my clothes will be plenty of support, but my roommate is looking to loose weight as well.
-- How realistic is your goal? Its what I was 2 months ago, so pretty realistic.
-- When will you start? today
As far as the basics, I'm 20 years old, a senior in college. Life is crazy with all the work and applying to grad schools. I'm going to be an audiologist in a few years, which is exciting because I find all of that ridiculousy fun. All the craziness makes it hard to get to the gym enough, but I think i've analyzed my schedule enough so that I've figured it out. I'm 5'7.5" and now weigh 140. I was 125 all last year up until two months ago, so although I'm told that it looks better and not to lose that much weight again, I'm used to having that body and this extra weight makes me feel really bulky and self conscious.
I know my problem has been eating, I eat waaay too much. I used to be a really really healthy eater, very picky about what I put in my body. well over the summer my boyfriend passed away from an illness, which was, obviously, extremely traumatic. Well after that I started eating a lot of comfort foods to make me feel better, wrong method, i know. Well the problem then was I started aquiring a taste for all the not so healthy food I had erased from my mind for so long. Well 15 pounds later I know something has to change. I know what I should eat its just me limiting the calories.
Based on the figures I've read around the forum, maintenance is 14/pound. then subtract 20-30% and that is your weight loss calorie intake. Well that puts me around 1400 for weight loss, so that is what I'm going for. I am going to try and make most of those fruit/veggie calories. I'm vegetarian so the protein thing is always harder, but hopefully with a lot of tofu, beans, almonds etc I'll be good.
Well thanks to anyone who read through all that rambling. I'm looking forward to meeting people. I am excited about this, I'm ready for a change.
