It really is an evil holiday, isn't it? Turkey breast is only healthy if you have 4 oz of it, and not cover it with gravy, stuffing, nut bread, squash, wine, beer, pie, etc...
I like the science behind all of your weight loss. Making something that feels very emotional and out of control..in to something where there is a logical system seems like a great way to lose weight. And since you have lost 200 pounds, it has worked well for you!
I'm not overly sold on its accuracy, but other than getting a DEXA scan it's as good as any other cheap home method. Because of the extreme weight loss, any sort of caliper method is worthless for me.
Epic food baby! So glad we don't have Thanksgiving here--I don't need any more excuses to eat crap. Do you guys do Roast Dinners on a Sunday or is that an English thing?
OK, I would say that qualifies as a "Sunday Dinner" in U.S. and A. And I think a lot of families do that sort of thing. Mine in particular doesn't, but it might start when the kids get a little older.
Hang in there! You've made so much progress & your future success will be the product of doing the same seemingly small things each day...even when you're discouraged You can do this!
Thanks for the well wishes guys. Still hanging in there though had an up and down week. The diet sort of went off the rails a bit after Thanksgiving, and even went a few days without working out...
...but then I played three hours of basketball today the last hour of which was the brutality of two on two (basically just wind sprints occasionally broken up by playing with a ball). I was 181 this morning. Hopefully be back down below 180 tomorrow AM.
Not necessarily in the best place mentally, still, but I'm fighting. I'll drop by some diaries later on after dinner.
Hi Buddy! There is nothing wrong with throwing caution to the wind for a bit with the diet or taking a break from the exercise. That's one of the perks of being at a healthy weight. No need to beat yourself up over it or view it as bad. You are already back at it with a ridiculous amount of bball.
There is no expiration date on hitting your super low weight and body fat. It doesn't have to be an unbroken line of continual loss from 375 to 160. Being at a normal bodyweight is still new to you. No need to feel pressure to do anything at this point. I know you're driven and I fully support your goal, but maybe just be for a little while stick around 175-180 and just get used to the feel for a bit. This is all assuming that you are in a negative place because of the pressure you are putting on yourself to get to 160.
Either way I hope you start feeling more positive soon. I can't understand your difficulties in the same way that Cate can, but I know if I'm stressed adding unnecessary pressures doesn't help.
Here's wishing you all the best Vee! We are here for you just like you are always here for us. We are a team, and a damn fine one I might add, especially with you on it. Take care!
Hey Vee, thanks for keeping us updated. A couple of houses around here have cast iron letters on their facades saying "every hours brings struggle, the last one peace". I don´t agree with that as many hours are loads of fun but it is true that the struggles always come back. I sometimes fool myself into thinking that if I can reach a certain goal life will be easier, but it´s never more than marginally true. All of which is to say: keep up the fight and enjoy the cease-fires with all you´ve got.
Hey Vee, sorry about the stumble, but you know that last 10-15 lbs are going to be a PITA. Maybe spend a couple months at 175, let yourself stabilize before making that final descent, maybe just enjoy that lost human? New week, hope it's a good one!
