Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

The stereo is in the car, though the voice recognition isn't all it's cracked up to be. Still it's nice for phone calls and the like.

179.5 this morning, though I expect a drop on weigh-in day tomorrow. Did sprint interval training today and as a general rule that leads to weight drops the next day.

My new truck has that. I imagine I will start trying to talk to my old car too. Mine has worked pretty well once I figured out to wait for the tone before I spoke. The voice to text got the text right, but then had an error in sending the text. I'm still learning. I hope the sprint ints pay off for you.

I believe the sprint intervals already have. Yes I've been losing weight the whole time for the last two years, but since working these in a couple of months ago, I feel like my cardiovascular fitness has seen a major spike. And the best part, is unlike some of my other workouts, there's never any doubt whether I've worked hard enough. The sweat just pours off me. I appear to be a lot quicker on the basketball court and have a bunch more endurance out there too.

As long as you can do them without injuring yourself (and knock on wood I haven't), I give them two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Mr Vee it is so awesome how much weight you have lost. I actually remember when you joined this forum and we were talking about your chart and I think what you formulated in Excel...can't remember exactly...and now you are down approx 200 lbs! TOTALLY AWESOME:party:

Thanks Xenon. Yeah it's in Excel. Still using it, though the curve is all wonky at this point.

Anyway 178.5 this morning. Going to do a mountain hike today even though it's my day off. I went out too much this weekend and so I could use the extra exercise to help burn some extra calories off. The hike is a fairly light workout at this point so I'm not really worried about over-exertion.

179 this morning and gotta get my nose back to the grindstone here.

Week two of my solo training efforts this week. Also got an e-mail yesterday that sounds like I might get some additional work in, and so that means I might make enough money so that I don't have to live underneath a freeway overpass. Poor wifi connection down there.

Good luck with the extra work V! Your fitness level is obviously getting better & better. Life is good. Now we need the moon & stars to be in alignment- you to find the woman of your dreams & us to have things go well with both our sons!

Extra money can be a very good thing, especially for ease of mind, so I hope you´re going to get the work. Careful with your nose though ;)

I would definitely count not living under an overpass as a plus. A cardboard box doesn't funnel the wind right to you like an overpass does and it provides some insulation.

The overpass does allow for a bit more interior design than the box does however. And looking good is far more important than being a little chilly.

Anyway 177 this morning, matching the new low set six days ago.

Legs workout today. Also grocery shopping and housekeeping and work. Busy day...

178 this morning. Going to cut my calories a bit (maybe by around 150 day) to see if I can't get things going more strongly in the right direction. Some of it is simply backsliding on diet stuff, but there's no way that's all of it. Even with a little backsliding, a pound a week loss should become no less than half pound a week loss. In the last 4 weeks of being mostly good (with one famous meltdown), I'm down about 1.1 pounds. Even with the meltdown it should at least be twice as much. So my best conclusion is that I'm not burning as many calories as I had thought.

I'm attempting something very difficult (10 to 12% body fat in my 40s), so it only makes sense that it's going to involve some difficult adjustments. But 2000 calories is still well above my BMR and hardly a starvation diet, so going to give it a shot and see how it goes.

The adaption may stink for a bit, but I think you will be good after a bit at 2,000. If 2,300 works for a 300 pound man then 2,000 should work for a 178 pound man. The difference between too big of a cut and just enough is a lot smaller range at your weight so you might need to adjust in tiny increments as you go along. I think with 150 calories you will know in a week or less if that's going to work.

My BMR, according to the calculators, is something like 1785, so I think I should be good anywhere above 1900 and probably as low as 1800 if I wanted (which I don't). It'll be interesting anyway.

Just found your diary... you have come a long way!!! I never noticed at the bottom your SW until after I read your first post on this. Great job!!!!!

Nice! I had a drop today too.

I've got work potluck tomorrow, Turkey day at my cousin's house Wednesday, and the real deal at my parents on Thursday. A minefield of a week.
