Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

HOLY COW!!! What a transformation..... amazing and so inspirational! And you hit 286, nice drop from last time.

Keep it up mate!

Back from the . Figure I burned about 1,000 calories doing that.

It's time for lunch. Thanks for all the kind words guys. Having this place as an outlet for my weirdity definitely helps.

UPDATE: just got this e-mail:

"My wife and i won £148.6 Million Pounds last year, and we have done lot of charity donation, so we decide to give 1.5Million Pounds each to 5 lucky people this 2013, lucky for you, your email, was given to us by google managment as one of our lucky receipants."

What do you think, this seems pretty legit, doesn't it?

Dude so so so good job. You're such an inspiration! I think your deadline might be a bit...close... xD but don't fret if you don't reach your goal because I think you're doing such a great job.

286? Holy Moly! Well done Mr Vee. That's great news. :D I'm looking forward to the day that you start dating again. Some woman is going to be very lucky. BTW- is it weird to think you don't sound at all weird to me? A bit zany maybe, but NOT weird! Cheers, Cate

Well you live in Tasmania so you probably have a higher "weird threshold" than most. :D

Seriously, thank you for the kind words.

omg, every time i come by i see this huge loss!!
You are doing pretty awesome! I hope you enjoyed the mountains!

287 pounds this morning. I'm actually quite happy with that since yesterday's was so low on the extreme. I expect to hover around here for a bit, actually.

It's Super Bowl Sunday! Where everyone gathers round to watch the advertising industry's yearly spectacle, which is rudely interrupted by about 20 minutes of actual American football.

I'm hosting this year which means I must make something to eat. Today's plan is pulled pork sandwiches in the slow cooker. Hopefully it comes out okay. Going to try and eat a little light today to leave room for the food come game time.

No workout today other than the exercise I get by hosting the party.

Have fun today. I'm hosting a few people. too. Your food sounds better; I went with soup, veg tray and dips.

Great job on your weight and thanks again for the link to the weight/calorie modeling website. It's been fun playing with it.

Enjoy Super bowl - pulledpork sounds yum.

great work on the hike yesterday- ... funny- I was expecting a pic of yur moutain -ha ha

?google management??? ya sure - bet U can hardly wait to decide where to spend yur $$$$ ...

I would LOVE to know what you have heard about Tasmanians, to think we are weird. I thought it was a well kept secret!

Cate,

I just figured any place that has stuff like this thing:

And has the word "mania" right in it, has got to traffic in the weird with regularity. :D

Anyhow, 288 this morning and back from personal training.

Did a lot of clothes culling this weekend, finally putting to rest a whole bunch of clothes that are now way too big for me. I have a leather jacket I think I'm going to get taken in. Don't have a whole lot of use for jackets down here, and so there hasn't been any real need to buy one. But I have to make a trip somewhere that has winters, and I'll need a coat. I tried it on at the Super Bowl party yesterday and everyone said it was a no go. What do you think?

No go. Way too big. Maybe craig's list it and buy a new one? Having it taken in would be a task as the length and length of sleeves would need to be adjusted as well as the jacket size. Congrats on the cull.

Re Tasmania...point taken. :D ....I was just wondering how you knew we were a bit wacky!
Re the jacket- borrow one when you need to if possible or buy at a charity shop until you get to your goal weight. It would cost as much to have it adjusted I would think as it would to buy a new one. I tried to minimise any expense on clothing until GW, when shopping becomes FUN. It will be a chance to decide your "style". I now hate wearing baggy clothes, whereas they were my default for decades. Doing very well Mr Vee!! BTW- what the heck is pulled pork?

Mr Vee you are absolutely drowning in that jacket - don't think altering is gonna work. But freakin well done!

Cate I'm also clueless what pulled pork is??

Here's a video to the basic recipe I followed (I added a spice or two):

Pulled pork

However I'm 289.5 this morning so maybe you shouldn't go try it yourself. :D

No personal training today, so I think I'm going to go back to the basketball court for the first time since that insanity 10 days ago. Schedule isn't too packed, so I think I'll stay for a while and give myself a nice workout.

Also going to be far more vigorous today in my food counting just in case the weight gain was a result of backsliding. I don't think it actually is (I think it's just the flipside of losing so much in the week previous), but there's no harm in expending a little extra mental and physical effort to make sure I stay on track:

Breakfast: Pulled pork on a kaiser roll (450 calories) :D
Snack #1: Orange (85 calories)
Lunch: Pasta with marinara sauce (500 calories)
Snack #2: Slice of provolone cheese (80 calories)
Dinner: Sirloin steak and a salad with red-pepper vinaigrette dressing (700 calories)
Wine with dinner: Grape juice in a wine glass (140 calories)
Dessert: Almond butter cookie (150 calories)

2105 calories total. I'm not going to need to have pulled pork for a while after this. I think I still have about five or six sandwiches left of the stuff. Maybe tomorrow I'll scramble some eggs and mix it in.

Dude! You are in the 280s! You will soon pass me if I don't get a move on....I am impressed! I know you must feel better.

Sometimes the little victories feel surprisingly good.

Fits comfortably, but the material is a little thin. Sure it's going to shrink a little, but then so am I. :)

Didn't want to spend too much on strictly workout shirts that hopefully will be too big in 6 months. Couldn't really shoot the basketball today in the 4X Diamondbacks t-shirt. Fabric kept tugging at my arms and flopping around everywhere. Not good for the jump shot.

Have I mentioned how nice it feels to walk into a normal store and buy something? :D Not everywhere carries 2X though, but I'll be down to XL soon enough.
