200 even again this morning.
Went to the gym yesterday to test out a few things to see what I'm capable of doing without too much problem. The rundown:
Elliptical: tried using just the poles and letting my legs coast along. Man that's hard and tiring. Tried half and half and that seemed to work okay. A little dicey on my injured ankle, but nothing too bad. Really good workout.
Recumbent bike: this gave me no problems at all for my ankle so is a good failsafe cardio option.
Pull ups and dips (weight assisted): they've got a machine with a platform where you can use counter-weights to give assistance on pull ups and dips. So I used that to get a little bit of a bicep and tricep workout. No problems for my ankle as you kneel on the platform.
Did some crunches with a weight resting on my feet and that posed no pain or problems for my ankle.
Shot a few free throws and while it felt a little weird, it didn't hurt.
In any event, I have personal training late this afternoon, and I talked to my trainer and I'm going to go. It's core day today, so most of those exercises put little to no strain on the ankle (and we can skip any that do). That combined with bike for warm-up and cool-down and I should be able to get the session in without too much difficulty.
Ankle feels a little better every day, but is a long long way from 100% still. But I no longer feel immobilized, just limpy everywhere.
The bad news is that several days of being laid up has led to a certain amount of housework neglect. Will have to do some today.
