Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

282 on Friday morning. I think that's a new low.

Got an e-mail yesterday that under normal circumstances could mean exceptionally good news. But it could also mean significant changes, and currently I've got things headed in the right direction so well, change is a little scary as a proposition. My hope is that there will be a way to capitalize on the good with as little disruption to my current schedule as possible. Me being me, batting this news back and forth in my head last night resulted in not a whole lot of sleep. Got more sleep than I thought I would though, which is nice. I should function just fine today.

Went looking for a winter coat at resale shops yesterday and searching for winter coats at the end of February in Phoenix is a little challenging. I did buy a couple of nice shirts (2XL) that were cheap. One doesn't quite fit me yet, but it's very close. I may see if there's an Army/Navy surplus somewhere nearby.

Great job on the new low, MrVee! I hope the news is favorable for you in the long term.

The truth is that you've been on this weightloss journey/lifestyle change for 25 weeks straight, so this is "normal circumstances". Whatever it is, even if it makes exercise impossible (I doubt that), you can still lose by keeping your calories in check. You can do that regardless of the change. I am certain of that so congratulations on the change and the awesome new low!

Hello MrVee! I've seen your posts in several threads, so I thought I'd drop in on yours! That's the great thing about a forum..we can go anywhere we want from the comfort of our chair! Anyway, great job on getting to a new low weight! I know it's not easy to keep up with the program, and from the looms of it, you are demonstrating to all of us it is possible!! Good job! I love basketball, and when I was on vacation I shot some hoops myself, but didn't get in an real games. I used to play in high school, and I'm always amazed how heavy the ball is when I havnt thrown one in awhile!
Good job on the new clothes...that is my personal reward for weight loss...I still have about 20 pounds to go...and I'll get there eventually, but I don't have a time goal..so it may take me another x years...and I'm ok with that as long as I'm ok with my food choices, exercise and mental health!
Keep up the good work! You are a great inspiration!
Sarah

As others have mentioned you've been keeping this going for so long that it is becoming your "normal", so hopefully whatever they good news is won't affect how well you're doing!

Keep it up and you'll smash those targets! :)

It's Saturday and the scale reads 281.5.

Today would be mountain day and it looks like we're in for some sun and the high is predicted to be 62 which isn't too bad, particularly when hiking up a mountain. But with the hailstorm a few days ago, I don't know how muddy the mountain is going to be. Things do tend to dry out pretty quickly here though. Guess I'll check it out and if it's too muddy, I'll go play basketball.

I find out more about my possible change on Wednesday. I'm hoping I can capitalize on the opportunity without too much of a disruption in my daily activity. Having to move is not something I particularly want to do right now, even if it means moving back home where I grew up.

Looks like I'll catch my first baseball game tomorrow as some friends are in town and they want to go. Wish the weather was a little warmer for them.

I love hiking when it's in the 55-65 range. Anything lower is a little on the chilly side and anything warmer just feels way too humid where I am.

Don't let the change discourage you too much. If you can keep to it during times of change, you know you can stick to it the rest of the time as well. :]

I think I want to borrow your scales Mr Vee. They seem to be working better than mine!
Change can be good even if we don't think we're ready for it & I'm sure you'll manage to keep going the way you have been. You seem to have changed your habits for good now & are very determined. It's great that you are getting more & more active. Cheers, Cate.

Nice job on the consistent weight loss, you'll reach your next goal of 270(I think you said) in no time. How was the hike? You probably killed it in record time.

281.5 again Sunday morning. Rest from exercise today.

How did the afternoon pt sessions turn out for you Mr Vee?

Pretty good. Going to still need to work a little better on getting more done in the day before them, but it is nice to have time to cook a full breakfast every day if I want.

As a matter of fact I did. The 'little girl skinned-knee' time was 35'55", the time yesterday was 31'20". Those are times from the start of the trail to the top of the trail. I don't really time going down because it isn't very tiring, but it is kind of dangerous so I don't want to rush it. The quickest way down is obviously not the best way. :)

Friends are in town today so will be doing some socializing tonight, which likely means beer. I have an action-packed week coming up, so I hope I manage it all. My smart phone should be here on Tuesday. So I should be much smarter on Wednesday than normal.

Hey MrVee - I hope you can make the most of the opportunity that came up for you!!

I hope you have a fun evening with your friends tonight!!! You need to let you hair down (& have a beer) once in a while!!!
:D

Great job on improving your hike-time...and happy beer time too !
:cheers2:

Back from the night out. Probably not the best day calories wise, but probably was just at maintenance so no biggie.

Had a good time. Have decided that when I was 375 looking to be 185, I hadn't really thought about 280. It's a weird sort of situation. There are no rest stops in life, but I'm ultimately smack dab in the middle of where I was and where I want to be and so it's a little hard to balance a feeling of genuine accomplishment with the reality that there's a fairly long road ahead of me still.

Anyway, personal training at 9:30 am tomorrow.

~ road behind vs road ahead - U have accomplished so much already... so how 'bout a "little" pat on the back... but not too much ..as U still need energy to keep forward on rest of your "road"?... ;)

Hope U have a nice week getting ready for your work trip - ... bet the plane seats will feel amazing with all that weight U have lost...

280.5, a half pound short of halfway to the goal weight. Probably a little alcohol dehydration boost in there though.

Personal training in about an hour and I don't expect to be in top form, but I wasn't too bad last night so I don't have a hangover. Didn't sleep as much as I would have liked though.

Good job, MrVee. You'll be wafer thin by Fall at this rate.
