carrie__,
It's hard to say. Certainly picking a calorie target and sticking to it is a necessity and I have, for the most part, done that and the results have followed. But I have become extremely active (played basketball yesterday) and that has possibly allowed me a higher target calorie intake than I might have been able to do otherwise. That higher intake has allowed maybe richer foods, and maybe that makes it easier to stick to the plan. It's very difficult to fit something like BBQ ribs into a 1600 calorie plan. But for most of the way I've been from 2100 to 2200 calories (right now I'm at 1900).
In any event, this very last stretch after 175 has been almost entirely about a reduction in calories consumed, both by stopping drinking and also by reducing my target by a couple of hundred. I don't think I would have been able to do this early on, but now I'm so "in the groove" that it's a little easier. And that's probably the best thing: this whole thing is very much second nature to me now.
Cate,
No that was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson but it's easy to get confused.
Anyhow 162 this morning, and that's a new low. Considering my calf muscle leapt out of bed this morning before any other part of me did, thereby giving me an extremely painful cramp, I'm guessing I'm a touch dehydrated. 15.3% on the monitor.
It's June 1, so I'll get a picture up later.
