Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Yeah sorry, sometimes my sense of humor is difficult to pick up on. I was very much joking on the "plateau" bit. Right now I'm in stunned shock at this week's astonishing drop in weight. I was 169 on May 17, 165.5 on May 24 and now 162.5 on May 31. At my size, 6.5 pounds in two weeks is crazy.

Three weeks ago the idea that I could have a 161 weigh-in before my trip was silly. Now, while still unlikely, I can't rule it out. Three more weigh-ins.

I love your sense of humour! I have been trying very hard not to say the same as your Dad! :blush5: 6.5 lbs in 2 weeks is insane V! I have been wondering, but felt too embarrassed to ask, but was that actually you clapping in that video you put on my page? Was it at the baseball?

Congratulations on being so so so close to your goal.

MrVee, would you say that exercise or a calorie controlled intake has had the greatest impact on your weight loss success?

carrie__,

It's hard to say. Certainly picking a calorie target and sticking to it is a necessity and I have, for the most part, done that and the results have followed. But I have become extremely active (played basketball yesterday) and that has possibly allowed me a higher target calorie intake than I might have been able to do otherwise. That higher intake has allowed maybe richer foods, and maybe that makes it easier to stick to the plan. It's very difficult to fit something like BBQ ribs into a 1600 calorie plan. But for most of the way I've been from 2100 to 2200 calories (right now I'm at 1900).

In any event, this very last stretch after 175 has been almost entirely about a reduction in calories consumed, both by stopping drinking and also by reducing my target by a couple of hundred. I don't think I would have been able to do this early on, but now I'm so "in the groove" that it's a little easier. And that's probably the best thing: this whole thing is very much second nature to me now.

Cate,

No that was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson but it's easy to get confused.

Anyhow 162 this morning, and that's a new low. Considering my calf muscle leapt out of bed this morning before any other part of me did, thereby giving me an extremely painful cramp, I'm guessing I'm a touch dehydrated. 15.3% on the monitor.

It's June 1, so I'll get a picture up later.

Wow 162! Like somebody told me before. You've been dehydrated before, but you were still never that light so a new low is a new low. Something like that anyway.

I have never heard of "Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson"(seriously) but he just looked a bit like you, now that you're so skinny ;)

:D I so need to see that Cate! I like The Rock (ok, I like looking at him, haven´t got a clue what he´s got in his skull), but there´s no way he looks skinny anywhere...

For some reason the Rock is skinny-ish in this gif:

162 again this morning. 15.5% on the monitor.

Today is probably the least fun day of all when going on a week long trip: the day everything must get done so you can go. Will need to make a list as there's no way I'll be able to remember anything.

Anyhow have to get cardio day in first, so off I go.

Apparently he bulks up and slims down depending on what it is he's up to. I guess certain movie roles require him to not be the behemoth he was when he got famous. The one on the right below is the more recent pic:

He's roughly the same age as me, but I, as usual, have better hair.

I guess you could argue: Thin = Dwayne Johnson, Steroidally Huge = The Rock

I have really never cared for 'the rock'. Every time I see he's in a movie, my desire to see it wanes.
Have a good trip! Don't be too naughty ;)

:D Cory, that picture on the left is almost like a cartoon heroine - showing off all the things. Another definition for "skin-ny" I guess... Still like him, the movies he plays in aren´t high-brow by a long stretch but they´re entertaining.

That would explain it then.....movies. I have never seen a movie with him in it obviously. Yes, I know, I must be a dinosaur. Action movies I'm guessing.....

how did you get that ? for me it is so hard .i really want to know your struggle . your suffering .how did you conquer all of these ?

Hi Vee, hope your week away goes well & you get the compliments you deserve! Cheers, Cate
