Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Use it with an obvious grain of salt as to the results. Like weight I'd suggest using it the same time every time (for me before I eat anything just after I wake up).

167.5 this morning. 16.6% on the monitor.

This self improvement stuff is hard. I suppose it has to be. :)

That's excellent Vee! Well done. I wish it was as easy to lose as it is to gain! :( Keeps us occupied I guess :)

Thanks Cate. My weight gain (the big one not the one last week) was symptomatic of substantial larger problems stemming from depression, and like my weight situation I've made substantial strides in addressing those problems as well. But I guess, like the weight, I hadn't fully realized just how deep of a hole I dug for myself and just how much work there was going to be to right the ship. I still do things from time to time that I just for the life of me can't understand why I'm like that, but little by little I'm fixing them. I just wish it would go faster. When losing 210 pounds is the easier part...

Anyway 166.5 this morning, and I should be approaching the point where I've ditched the water weight and am back to a weight more in line with what the reality of the trip damage really was.

Today is Father's Day and I'm going to visit the parents. I'm going to do everything within my power to not deviate from the food plan today. It's also my day off from working out.

Mental stuff can definitely be harder to work through than more physical things like weightloss (though weight loss does take a good amount of mental challenges!) Hope you can work everything through.
Good bye water weight!

Depression sucks and it´s usually a positive feedback loop which sucks even more. Kudos to you for making so much progress!

167 this morning.

Over ate a little at the parents for Father's Day, but nothing too destructive. Coconut cream cake probably literally tipped the scales.

Got my lifting session in. Did not progress on any of my lifts, but I still get one more crack at it before I do the "deload" thing. It's like a video game. You get three lives, and if you don't make it to the next level, you have to drop down a couple and start over. Got some advice from a gym buddy, which I listened to and nodded along to. It was bad advice so I'm not going to follow it. Nice guy, though.

Ha, I hate it when people try to comment on my food/exercise. Even if it's potentially good advice.... I have a plan in mind, and it's kind of none of their business. A few people I'm friends with at work are even still anti-female weightlifting. One even commented that I'm quite feminine and weight lifting females are usually quite masculine... errrr.... cheers buddy (he's a vegan though, so I never really listen to anything he says).

Yay for dropping all the water weight, that was heaps to be holding on to!!! We don't have fathers day here in Aus till September, just being different from the rest of the world I guess.

167 again this morning 16.6% on the monitor.

Back from my sprint interval treadmill workout. In case you were wondering, the workout goes like this:

Click the "speed interval" program button (if it has one). Enter in a "jog" speed of 3.5 MPH, and a run speed of 10.5 MPH (though this will be adjusted up and down):

Start off walking 3.5 MPH for 3 minutes, press button and adjust speed down to 7.5 MPH for 30 seconds, press button and it should go back down to 3.5 MPH 1 minute walk, 30 seconds at 8.0 MPH, 1 minute at 3.5 MPH, 30 seconds at 8.5 MPH, 1 minute at 3.5 MPH, and so on increasing the sprint portion by 0.5 MPH each time. The last two intervals should top out at 14.0 MPH with the second interval ending 24 minutes and 30 seconds into the whole workout, and then I walk for the last 30 seconds. As soon as you get up to around 12.0 MPH, you tend to devote all your focus to the task at hand as it can be a little scary running that fast on a treadmill.

I then get a drink, stagger about a bit, grab my bearings, and then do 25 minutes inclined walking at 3.5 MPH. I start at around 5% incline and adjust up and down based on my heart rate, trying to keep it in the modest 125-130 range. Grand total that's 50 minutes of cardio, with the first being a HIIT cardio workout, and the second being a steady state cardio workout.

The second half is fairly comfortable, which is good because the first half will wipe you out.

No way I'd do that speed on a treadmill. I always feel like I'm going to wipe out at a modest pace on those things. Then again I can't do that speed on a track either. Now you have me interested on how fast I could go for 30 seconds. I can tell you it's not 14 mph.

Back to you, that's a damn fine cardiovascular workout. That last 25 minutes does wonders to reduce soreness from those sprints I'm sure.

166 this morning, 16.6% on the monitor. Waist measurement is 30.5".

Did legs day today. Am now completely without an ounce of energy...

171 this morning after a particularly bad weekend involving too much food and drink, and a lot of self-evaluation last night. 16.1% on the monitor though, so that's good and the clothes all fit fine (they were getting loose right before my trip)

So far so good today. Got my push workout in and my muscles are sore as they should be.

So you gave yourself a big talking to. Did you listen? I talk to myself when I'm home alone, but yesterday I laughed out loud at a thought. Whoops! It's good your clothes fit fine still Vee. Maintaining weight-loss is much harder than losing as it's much harder to keep the momentum going & to find balance. I'm sure you'll be good at it though.

Had a pretty much dead perfect day yesterday.

171 again this morning, but 15.7% on the handheld device. Been lifting very heavy the last week or so as I've reduced the cardio and increased the resistance training. So we'll see how this goes.

I normally use July 1 as my anniversary date, but the front cover of my original personal training book says that I walked in there on June 30, 2012. So it's three years ago today that I made the big commitment to lose the weight, and somehow actually managed to accomplish it. Or at least most of it...

Happy Anniversary Vee!

Heavy lifting will make the weight jump and/or stall.

Heaviest to lightest for 3 years is almost 1.4 pounds a week average. That's crazy! Outstanding sir!

You have done an amazing job in the last 3 years!
