Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

You won't miss it if you stay away from it for a little while. It will help you make your final goal.

Happy to see you around. I noticed you went to the second page yesterday as was a bit worried. Best of luck for your weigh-in!

Nice to see you back V, sorry about the wine incident but if it leads to healthier habits a bit (or even a lot) of embarrassment is worth it. Can´t think of a better deterrent either, I hate being drunk before other people, I tend to spend the entire next day dissecting every sentence said to see if I can find more things to cringe about.

Good luck for your weigh-in!

Thanks everyone. Weigh in time, the bad news: 179. The good news: 16.4% on the body fat monitor, easily a new low.

The Super Bowl is tomorrow and as it turns out this year's Super Bowl is where I currently live. And so it's been a bit of a zoo around Phoenix the last week or so. The upside is there's interesting stuff going on. Tonight I'm going to see The Roots for free downtown. They're in town taping the Jimmy Fallon Show (who is also here for the Super Bowl).

Got to use my new found sobriety to good effect last night as a designated driver which was definitely needed...

16.4% is awesome!
Being a DD in a super DD poor environment is awesome!
Quitting drinking while the Super Bowl is in town is Awesome!
Free Roots concert is awesome!
179? Your BF% went down so you gained lean body mass which will help you to burn more body fat which is...wait for it.....awesome!

In short you super suck at failing. Don't work on that.

Alright, new month time to get a handle on things. Will post pics later today.

Yesterday was my parents' anniversary, they're clocking in at 46 years and counting now. Congrats to them.

Anyhow, one of my adjustments is going to become a stickler on making to do lists. It really helps organize what is usually a chaotic thought process as I try to navigate days. It may seem like when you're busy, spending 10 minutes writing down all the ways in which you are busy would be counterproductive, but in my experience those 10 minutes save at least 30 when it comes to actually getting things done.

I am huge on making lists. I make lists like crazy. If I'm excited for something, I make lists for it haha. Even if I never actually use them for anything!

Okay 177.5 this morning, 17.4% on the body fat monitor.

Haven't played basketball in a couple of weeks (have been getting my workouts in, just not basketball) so it will be nice to get out there today and play. The regular games I usually go to have been at a time that I haven't been able to make recently.

Will check up on others' threads after basketball. Have been lax lately, so sorry about that...

Hope you have a great game & show those "young'uns" a thing or two V! No need to apologise about not posting in diaries. Sometimes life gets in the way.

I've been MIA for quite a while and often wondered how you guys were doing. I never once doubted that you wouldn't still be kicking butt. You're amazing Vee. Such an inspiration. Looking forward to getting caught up again. Hope you enjoyed your basketball! :D

Thanks MR. All is not necessarily well, but it's mostly been just mental difficulties rather than anything actually bad happening.

185 this morning, but I do feel like I've arrested a rather long slide (long for me anyway). It's been about a dozen days since I've been to the gym, but I'm heading over in around two hours.

Trying to conceive a "back to basics" sort of plan for me here where I just get back to doing what's worked (obviously) in the past and not trying to skip steps in order to get to the end of this process. So I'm going to go back to the which, oddly enough, means increasing my target calories.

Good luck getting back on track! We all have those times, the key is to actually get back on track. Think of how hard you have worked and how far you have come. Don't be like me. Don't gain it all back (and more!). I have just worked hard for 5 weeks and am only NOW at my starting point from the last time I lost weight! You've done amazing for so long! You can do it!

Glad to see you back Vee. I think part of your basics plan should include posting regular in your diary. Although there is a selfish component to that suggestion, you can't deny that part of your success has been sharing here.

If you want to rant in private feel free to PM me. I am happy to help if I can and will no doubt return the favor with my own stuff at some point when you are willing. No obligation. Just know that's an option.

I ran the model myself and essentially set my calories for an inactive lifestyle which is how I arrived at 2,300 in the first place when I was 333. Now at 263 I'm going to shoot for 2,000.

The NIH model has been very good at predicting what you need so maybe more calories will make life a bit better for you. I hope so! Hang in there and stick around PLEASE!

I agree with all of the above. We like having you around & it is good for all of us to post in here. We miss you when you're not here. I know how much I struggled when I lost my excess weight. I expected all of my personal problems to just disappear when I became slim. If ever you want to pm me, you know that I am good with that. Thinking of you V, xo Cate

You guys are the best. I'm all verklempt.

182 this morning. At the current rate of 3 pounds lost a day, I'll be at my goal weight by next Tuesday.

Going to attempt basketball today, but will try and be mindful not to overdo it. Layoffs can be a little dangerous, even ones that were only 12 days long.

This is also the time of year where Phoenix might very well have the best weather on the planet, so I'm going to try and make sure I enjoy the outdoors as much as I can for the next 6 weeks or so.

EDIT: so yeah the whole not overdoing it at basketball, kinda screwed that up. Roughly two hours with an average heart rate of 144. A little sore right now. Played well though
