Mishi - we totally can do the bike thing. It creates it's own breeze!
I am the kind of person that sweats a lot, but I don't start to sweat until after I'm done doing whatever I was doing. I'm going to have to give myself a good 20 minute leeway at work to stop sweating and mop up when I move and have further to bike.
I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to bike the 8 or so miles to work, but I just did 6 feeling pretty good. I would have gone further but the freeway cut off my route. I"M SO EXCTIED!
In Phoenix bike riding is really looked down on. It's like riding the bus - only something you do if you're too poor to own a car. If you're not wearing skin tight clothing with sponsor logos everybody thinks "oh - that poor person who has to ride a bike!" So I'm thinking of getting one of those One Less Car shirts.
My new job has a trip reduction program that enters employees who carpool, walk, or bike to work in a drawing each month for $50. That would be fun.
The other advantage to bike riding is that I'll only have the food at work that I brought with me and will be unable to run out to buy more. The snack bar at the church is no longer a daily temptation!
I plan to get on here again more. My new work doesn't let me surf the internet (instead I'm doing real work now!), so I have to find a new time to make it on here.
