Lisa's Journal

Dinner: one small cheese manicotti, one bowl cereal (i mixed 2 types, 1 was a bran flake thing and one was like frosted flakes), green beans, and baked beans. I think it was quite a lot of calories, probably around 750 calories.

Snack: Kashi cookie and rice crisps- approx. 200 calories

I did 4 miles on the track tonight (my legs are really sore) so that brings my total up to 14 miles.

Sundays are my day off my diet, so the calorie intake today is probably going to be around 2000, which hopefully wont make me gain weight, but wont make me lose any either. Having said that my lunch consisted of: cheese tortellini, green beans, and a muffin- guessing around 900 calories. For dinner I plan on having cheese pizza cause I have been craving it allll week.

Wow, today has been a major calorie day. I snacked on some yogurt covered pretzels and a couple malted milkballs and then I got 2 slices of cheese pizza (but i got it here at school where they didnt seem to actually put much cheese on the cheese pizza) so there were probably less calories. im guessing my total calories were around 2200, which isnt much more than my BMR rate, so hopefully it wont affect my weight much.

Today has gone really well so far.
Breakfast: Zone bar- 210 calories
Lunch: lettuce with a few green olives and red wine vinegar, black beans, and an apple- 250 calories
Snack: Kashi cookie- 130 calores
So far today: 590 calories
I will try to get around 400 for dinner and then have fruit for a snack tonight. I went to the gym today instead of the track and did 20 minutes each on the elliptical, bike, and treadmill. Total miles: 6.3 Total calories burned: 400- though I didnt realize until I was on the treadmill that putting your weight into those things makes the calories burned go up a LOT faster. so i think it was a lot more than 400 calories.

Total miles towards pedicure: 20.3

Well, dinner wasnt the most healthy but I did okay with calories I guess. They didnt have much of a choice at the cafeteria, so I ended up getting some bran cereal mixed with a little frosted flakes and a little bit of guacamole with abour 8 tortilla chips. I am guessing the total calories is around 500.
So total for today: 1090, but I am sure I will have a snack later.

Another good day.
Breakfast: Zone Bar- 210 calories
Lunch- bean soup, 6 saltine crackers, broccoli and squash- approx. 350 calories
Snack: Kashi cookie- 130 calories
Total thus far: 690 calories

I went to the gym and this time I put my weight and age into each machine and my calories burned was much higher. 495 calories burned and 5.9 miles

Soooo, total miles done: 26.2

Tomorrow I am taking a day off from the gym because I have a HUGE test on thursday that I am NOT ready for, so I will be studying all day.

I am actually excited about my weigh in tomorrow.

thanks mal! and thanks for the reputation!

So for dinner I had bean soup and broccoli, just like lunch. But I had 2 bowls of bean soup. I have to admit, for having a pretty lousy cafeteria, they do know how to make reallly good bean soup lol. I'm just glad that my digestive system has adjusted to all these beans I eat since I became a vegetarian...otherwise my roomate would not be too happy with me. Sorry if thats a little too much information lol.
So for dinner I am guessing it was around 500 calories which brings my calories up to 1190. But I will probably have some fruit as a snack later since I will be up so late studying!

I was trying to find my last post where I said I got a new scale last week that is not as nice to me. It says I weigh about 7lbs more than my last one. So, last week I weighed 256.7 on the new scale. This morning I weighed in at 253.7. So that is a 3lbs loss for this week. I think I ate a lot of salt yesterday, since I ate bean soup all day and the cafeteria has a tendency to over salt the soups. But I am going to weigh myself again tomorrow for the taxing challenge since I wont be here on Friday to weigh myself on my scale.

Breakfast: Zone Bar: 210 calories
Lunch: green beans, broccoli, and baked beans: approx. 350 calories
Total thus far: 560 calories

1 test down, I think i did pretty well on it. But tonight I have to write a paper and study for a test I have tomorrow :( so it wont be a fun night.

I decided to change my ticker to a goal that will actually come in the next 2-3 months (hopefully). That way I can actually see myself getting really close to it. I think I am finally getting the hang of this whole taking small steps thing. I am actually wearing my size 20 jeans right now (I was a size 22) and they are still a little tight, but they are wearable, so thats pretty exciting.

Tomorrow I go home for Spring Break. I really hope that my family and friends can tell a difference in how I look. I am going to put on my bridesmaid dress I wore for my friends wedding at my highest weight. Its kind of cool because I have another friend getting married almost exactly a year from the past wedding I was in. So I will be able to see the dramatic difference in wedding pictures, and hopefully I wont be the fat bridesmaid this next time around!

awesome to be in the smaller size - way to go :)

enjoy the visit with your family -if they havent seen you in a bit -no reason why they shouldnt notice and smack if they don't :)

Thanks Mal, I'll be sure to consider your advice if they dont notice lol.

Yay! TOM finally came. This bloating and these cravings can finally go away. I think this is the first time I have ever been excited to see TOM.

Oh, I forgot to post my dinner. It was a relatively high calorie dinner, but I had some cravings, and the cafeteria didnt give me much to work with today.

Dinner: green beans, baked beans, bowl of cereal (bran flakes and frosted flakes mixed), and a little guacamole with about 8 tortilla chips. I am going to estimate this meal to be about 600 calories, but I could be way off lol.

Okay, now I HAVE to get off this forum (its really addicting) and go write a paper and study for my philosophy midterm i have tomorrow.

So I am home, but my family decided to go see an IMAX today, so they arent home yet! lol. I was reallllly proud of myself today. I was planning on just getting a bean burrito from Taco Bell on my way home for lunch and I was on my way there, but I also had to return some movies to Blockbuster. But I realized one of the dvd's was not in its case, so I went back to my dorm to get it. When I got there I felt really bad about planning on going to Taco Bell, so I went ahead and went to our crappy cafeteria so I could get my usual black beans and vegetables for lunch. My kitchen here at home is not me-friendly lol. I am going shopping with my mom tomorrow to get food that I can actually eat. We have some diet-ish food here, but a lot of it is either meat, or its higher in fat content that I like to eat. Tonight, however, I am going to my FAVORITE mexican restaurant. I have been going to this place since I was 2 and its a tradition that we go whenever I come in town. So I plan on getting bean soup, eating a little rice, and a little queso. I should be able to still stay under 2000-2200 calories for the day, so I might not have a deficit, but I shouldnt have a gain either.

Breakfast: Zone Bar- 210 calories
Lunch: black beans, brown rice, green beans and broccoli- approx. 300 calories
Snack on the road: package of cheese cracker sandwiches thing- 200 calories
snack while waiting for my family to come home so we can go eat!- apple- 80 calories
Total thus far: 790 calories
So I can have at least 1000 calories tonight and be okay for today. I may be going out with friends tonight though, which could mean alcohol lol. But I have done some research on the least caloric alcoholic drinks, so I think I will be okay, I'll probably stick with shots lol.

I went a little crazy at the Mexican food restaurant. I probably ended up eating around 1500 calories, for one meal!!! But hopefully it wont make me gain a whole pound or anything. I am trying to go light on the calories today to make up for last night. I didnt end up going out with my friends, so that was good I didnt have more unnecessary calories. I havent really eaten a "meal" yet today, because I had to go to the store to get food I can eat. So: around 11 I had an apple and a pear
around 12 I had a few triscuits
and around 3 I had a 100 calorie pack of cookies.
So, I would say I havent had more than 400 calories. I know its low, but I DO plan on going out tonight, so there will be some unnecessary calories there.

My friends keep asking me to go eat at restaurants that they work at. One friend wanted me to come eat at her restaurant when she was working last night. Another wanted me to come have lunch with her on her break today at the restaurant she works at. Its crazy! I dont usually have this problem at school cause everyone just goes to the cafeteria cause their meal plan is already paid for.

Argh, eating at home is harder than I thought it would be. I think the problem is that I have too many options and I am a snacker. I go to the kitchen MANY times a day and just snack. I need to figure out my calories for today though.
Another apple- 80 calories
Random snacks- 350 calories
Dinner- stir fry with broccoli, sugar snap peas, brown rice and teriyaki sauce- approx. 400 calories.
So, if I add that to the approximate 400 calories from the rest of the day, I am actually just around 1200. So I guess I havent had as much as I thought, but I think I need to make wiser decisions tomorrow. I still have the rest of the night, though, which will involve some "empty calories".

So, last night I had a LOT of empty calories. But, luckily I didnt get the midnight munchies because of those empty calories. Today I am going to try to stay under 1000 calories to make up for yesterday. I woke up at 2:30 though, so I dont think it will be that hard. Right now I am eating a bowl of oatmeal- 160 calories. So I will probably have this and then just dinner (which I am in the middle of making a really good bean soup) so I might end up well under 1000 calories. I am also GOING TO exercise today. I have put it off the last 2 days.

Okay, I HAVE TO STOP just munching all day. After the oatmeal, I ate a whole wheat tortilla with some hummus (approx. 200 calories).
For dinner I had:
brown rice and black beans (300 calories)
a little bit of bean soup- 75 calories
kashi cookie (130 calories)
100 calorie pack cheetos (100 calories)
a couple rice crisps (50 calories)
I cant even remember if I have eaten anything else. So for all that, todays total comes to: 1015 - but this could be a little low cause I cant remember if I munched on anything else today. I am going to try to not have anything else for the rest of the night. Its just so easy when the kitchen is right there. I dont have this problem when I am at school. I really need to get it figured out.

Today hasnt been TOOO bad. I did have popcorn at the movie theater (1/2 of a large bag- i know "bad, bad Lisa". but the rest of the day I have been really good. For lunch I had some of the bean soup I made, a salad with vinegar, and a whole wheat tortilla with a little hummus. So total for lunch was probably like 350 calories. The popcorn was approx. 750 calories (according to CalorieKing.com). For dinner I will have some green beans and some bean soup, So i should be under 1500 calories for the day.

Dinner last night turned out to be a Zone Bar and then I had A LOT of "empty calories". My eating habits while ive been home are weird. I think I have been staying under my calorie limit almost every day even though I cheat a little everyday. Its probably because I havent been eating all my meals or I will have really small things throughout the day besides the meal when I cheat. I weighed myself this morning and my scale here says I have lost 2lbs since I got here. I'm not sure if thats true, but it was nice to see.
