Lisa's Final Countdown, The Good Days, the Bad, & the Ugly

Apparently there's tons of money just out there for grabs for school in the form of grants and scholarships but I can't seem to find them. All I get is internet scams or ones I don't qualify for through school.

That's awful! Have you asked a librarian for the big books that have organizations who offer scholarships? MAYBE you might find something....

I must have been retaining water because I've lost 3 more pounds the last 4 days. Happy to see a new lower number regardless :)

:hurray: Great!

3 pounds

Great work Lisa!!! Watching them fall off is the thing that keeps me going. You seem so motivated at the moment!!! Keep that feeling going!!

:hurray: Great!

Ya know that's a great idea. There was one at the college in Cali before I moved but I didn't think to look here. Maybe while I'm not taking classes now's the time to do some major research :)

Thanks Blancita :)

Ok I put down the pudding and banana even though I hadn't ate it yet and ended up not wanting the banana so my actual total is 1464

Heya Lisa!!! Checking up on you, and I am impressed!
You have NAILED the healthy eating! Kudos!

Hows the physical exercise going? Seems like you are pretty busy? I have been overdoing it last few days. The muscles in the front of my lower legs are killing me LOL. Hopefully that's a good thing....

No physical exercise yet. I fell at work a few weeks ago and bruised my tailbone pretty bad so I'm on restrictions from the doctor. Soon as I can tolerate it though I'm going to start using my stationary bike.

Today I made a bad decision and a good one, lol. I ran out the door to a staff meeting that lasted 3 hours with nothing but a banana. Afterwards I was leaving and got a text from my friend that said "breakfast?". So I ended up eating at Denny's....and of course the stuff I ate wasn't low cal. I even had chocolate cake...man was it good. Luckily their nutrition info is online.

My good decision was that I was going to make steak, shrimp and baked potato for dinner. Now hubby knew this so there was no getting out of it. Then I realized that I still had a choice...I only fixed it for him. I'm seriously not even hungry yet so wasn't a big hardship. I'll probably have something light like a bowl of kashi cereal with soy milk or some fruit if I get hungry later to keep my calories down. Nice to have some flexibility in my diet :jump: Next time I think I'll skip the cake though, lol.

You might meal plan? I try, weekends are VERY rough for me but easier since I quit drinking.

This is great you're counting calories. It works for me and is the ONLY thing that really works for more than a pound or two lost. Weekends are rough because in meatspace, calorie counting is a dirty little secret that I sneak off and write down when I catch a moment alone....LOL

I fell at work a few weeks ago and bruised my tailbone pretty bad so I'm on restrictions from the doctor.

Terrible! I slipped and fell and just barely bumped it, but that part of the spine is sensitive, man! For 3 weeks I could not balance on my "sitbones" in "boat pose" in Yoga. Minor compared to your injury, but I feel for you :(

WOW 580 is a lot for cake, but GOOD FOR YOU for allowing flexibility. You'd drive yourself insane with a strict regime! :willy_nilly: You also listened to your body and hunger signals--how very French, LOL. :hurray: Good news all around!

Yea it was Hershey's Chocolate cake...the inside filling was a chocolate mousse and outside was choc. frosting :X It was worth the calories and I'm still gonna keep in line today :) So far dieting is easy when I have a stocked kitchen and time to cook! Again, my happiness level has shot through the roof since I decided to not take classes this semester. I get all my time back! Everytime I turn around I'm thinking "oh I can read this book now" or something else I can do for ME like get my house in order.

:eek2: HELL YES it was worth the calories, DAMN!!!! :drooling:

I am an absolute sugar-monger. It is embarrassing  I literally was concerned I was making myself a Type 2, but recent bloodwork shows I am FINE (so far). But my skin breaks out something terrible when I overdo the sugar--seriously. I have been able to pin-point it and am working towards imbibing less. It is torturous for me! :ack2:

Enjoy getting the house in order, reading, and having "ME" time. :)

Thanks :) I was happy especially because those were weekend numbers. Weekends are more difficult cuz like I said there's alot of temptation to eat at work. Last night I was offered some chocolate cake by one of the girls for her birthday like 5 times. It was a chocolate oreo cake and looked really good but I had cake earlier this week and didn't feel tempted at all. In fact great thing about me is the more I'm pushed the more I dig my heals in, lol. Meh...I'm realizing the food will always be there. I can eat it any time. I just really need to get more activity in...which I know I keep saying. My tailbone still hurts like heck though and it didn't help that I fell on my butt again Sat. at work in the driveway. The snow was hiding alot of ice and I slid so it aggravated it.

I'm alot better for the most part but can't sit for long in most chairs and getting up from bein seated is painful. I am going to see if my bike seat is painful though just to check...it may not be at this point :) And I got some workout videos to do at work on the weekends. I warned them already they could laugh while I made an ass of myself but I was doin it anyway, lol. Some of the girls I take care of will probably do them too...hopefully nobody will knock anyone out flailing arms in a small room.

Ditto on the weekend numbers!!! :piggy: I've been much better these past 2 weekends due to my quitting drinking--and also I noticed that since I cut way back on sugary sweets, I don't have as bad of breakouts. Basically, I needed a healthy turnaround, and dropping pounds is a boon attached to that.

Enjoy your workout videos!

Awesome decision. I fell of the wagon at christmas time due to my wife suggesting we have some drinks at home. She normally doesn't drink, but when she said we could... I caved completely. Its a great thing to be able to have your partner have one thing, and you are fine with a healthier option. I am proud of you girl!!!!

LISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I missed you girl! You and your positive attitude were always so great to hear! I got my computer fixed, big headache, but now I'm back to stay! I agree with the weekend, and I always slip on Saturday. I think it just is because I'm exhausted from working so hard during the week and it is so much easier! But easier isn't always the way to go, and like you said food will always be there. Sometimes these revelations are such "DUH!" moments but they really can change your entire outlook on life.

How are those workout videos working for you? I was thinking about getting some, but I have been using exercise on demand for my yoga and some strengthening ideas.

You sound like you are doing amazing - good job with that cake! KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK!
