Lili's Diary

I'm having similar challenges in the eating department. Seems like even if I string together 5 good days in a row, if the next 2 are bad I am more likely to gain weight than lose weight. I keep trying to remind myself that if I can just get back into weight loss mode it does get easier. I call it weight loss mode because it's hard to achieve (it takes about 10 days of eating in a caloric deficit) but once you get there you feel like you are in the zone and it actually seems easy to stay there. Unfortunately I haven't been there in about 8 months. Hopefully each and every one of us will find our own weight loss mode.

Thanks for sharing that ... makes me feel better. I had a good day, ate really healthy all day, went to the gym after work, and then ... you guessed it ... the "you're fat because you're an idiot" phrase comes to mind. LOL

It's been a rough week for me. I suffered a huge disappointment. Was going home to visit my family (sons, mom, sister and friends) but my trip was cancelled due to some things happening at the office so I need to be here. My boss will be gone next week so I need to stick around because our national budget's being announced. I cried last night but feel a bit better today, still sad, but will improve with each day. Maybe I'll go in a month's time. It's also snowing this week and I traditionally start getting antsy with winter in March after four months of snow and cold. Oh the PITY!!
lol I'll live. But I must learn to cope better rather than stuff face with burgers and fries. BAD BAD BAD Fatty. :nopity::banghead:

Tomorrow is a new day. Menopause, depression, hypoglycemia and throw in some winter blues. Thank GOD for exercise...the natural happy drug.

Sounds like life is challenging for you right now. Hang in there. Believe me, I've had my own challenges over the past few years. After awhile I almost enjoy being subborn though. It's like the devil keeps trying to ruin me but I keep barely hanging on just to piss him off. LOL

We all just need to figure out ways to get through each day without using food to make us feel better emotionally. I really think that is part of the problem with many of us. Other times we just get darn hungry because we burned a lot of calories from a hard workout. Either way, diet seems to be the most important part of the weight loss equation.

I hope you get to see your family soon. I feel for you. All of my family lives in my town rather close by and I get to see most of them quite often. I can't imagine being separated from the ones I love and not being able to see them. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. ;)

I agree 100% that diet is the most important part of the equation and I vow I'm going to get the hang of it.

Aw thanks Derrick that is sooooo kind of you to offer prayers.

Now I"m off to bed cuz it's past midnight here and that's another part of weight loss ... enough sleep!!:sleeping::sleeping:

Awe, so sorry you are having to delay our family visit! I know how hard it is to give up a plan when you are so looking forward to it!

I am on the other spectrum, I need to get back into work after my vacation. Feeling very unmotivated today! Was suppose to go in, but decided I need one more day off to handle personal affairs.

What that really means is I am going to go buy a new book, watch a movie I have had for a few weeks and need to return... do a few things around the house, and just recover from that dreadful travel day yesterday.

I hope things get better this weekend with your birthday! Any plans?

Thanks MJ, I'm feeling better since a friend offered to make me dinner and we'll go to a movie after. Oh, I know exactly what it feels like post-travel day and post vacation. It's like WHAT? You want me to work? LOL Hope you enjoyed your day and would they kill you if you begged off Friday?

On the food/exercise front, I've maintained exercise this week but fallen off the wagon on food since Tuesday. Also drank coffee instead of green tea and apparently, on strike from apple cider vinegar last couple days also. LOL Okay I will get focused again. I'm thinking Monday March 1st is my go day. All this Olympic hockey is killing me. Nachos and beer in the pub last night. I've been staying up late to watch Olympics so a bit sleep deprived and that always has an impact on my healthy eating choices and exercise ability.

Have a great Friday everyone!

You're not the only one that falls off the food wagon! I had a terrible dinner... HORRIBLE! I went to red robin and I swear any meal you get there is easily over 1000 cals and I added french onion soup to it! OY! lol... I got water to drink though ;) lol

Hi Risty; you are so nice to drop by my diary ... I think with all your exercise, your supper won't make a dent. I feel I owe it to myself but also to you and MJ to do my absolute best since I see your progress and commitment.

Have a great Friday.

Oh you drink the apple cider vinegar too? I have that in my pantry, it is rough getting that stuff down, it's like a shot of whiskey!!

Ever since I read the ancient Egyptians used it for beauty and weight loss I was interested.

Way to go with the exercise, and the food will get better next week!!

Have fun this weekend and again, Happy Birthday!!

Yah, I drink 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar with water and 1/8 tsp honey but now I'm going to add stevia instead of honey to make it go down.

I studied the foods and researched a few recipes, then made a grocery list. I found a yummy sauerkraut/tomato soup recipe for the slow cooker. And a couple avocado salad recipes, and a cranberry/spinach salad recipe that I want to try. One thing I have always found when I've successfully lost weight in the past, is I succeed when I take the time to prepare food. Eating healthy is really a time commitment as much as anything esle.

There's an excellent organic grocery store within walking distance. I'm going to post my food in WLF every day and I hope you will too, MJ cuz it would really help me with more ideas.

And I have an appointment on Tuesday for a colon irrigation. Will take 1.5 hours and costs $115 and I know a lot of people say it's a lot of bunk, but I think if you're trying to kill a bad bacteria, it can only be a good thing to do a flush.:blush5:

Well ... Monday is go-day and I'm going to soak my beans tonight and cook them and freeze them, so I can make yummy bean/red onion salad with olive oil and sea salt. And I'll make my sauerkraut/tomato soup. YAY :hurray:

Up to date full body pic of me

Hi there;

Thought I'd post this "before" picture of me because it was taken a week ago when I went hiking in the Gatineau Hills. It's not quite bikini weather here, as you can see. tee hee

Hello there! I think I am constantly apologizing for being MIA but I have been thinking of you! I skimmed through and sounded like you have had a rough patch but are moving on. I like the talk of recipes and organic food!! I have been trying new things that include more veggies and it can get rather fun putting different things together! Not sure I am ready for a colon irrigation though ;) lol
I hope you are doing well! I love that pic of you! You are a cute little snow bunny I swear!! Not a bad before pic if I do say so myself! :) Love your new profile pic (I realize you may have changed that weeks ago:blush5:).
Have a fabulous "go-day" on Monday and just a good week in general!
Take care!

Hey Mishi - how do? Never apologize for being away for a while. We all have our reasons and WLF isn't some kind of cult - at least I hope it isn't. lol How nice to hear from you and thanks for your comments. I hope things are going swimmingly in your life.

Today I ate:

1 cup yogurt with 10 almonds, 1 tbsp flax seeds and 1 oz. cranberries

Small Tomato, 1/4 cup red onion, 1/2 avocado salad with 4 oz. chicken

3 cups spinach salad with red onion, toasted sesame seeds and 1/2 tbsp olive oil and 4 carrot sticks.
3 mugs of green tea and not enough water.
1250 calories.

lol you guys are too sweet. But you know what? Being 5'9" tall has its advantages. When you're standing, you can hide an extra 20 pounds a little easier.

Today I had my colon irrigation. Do NOT continue to read if least bit squeamish. The registered nurse who treated me works as part of a holistic team, a naturopathic doctor, a massage therapist, and another gal that does iridology and accupuncture. It didn't hurt at all, but it was somewhat uncomfortable at times. She massages my belly while slowly and gently pumping water through the colon. She asked me to relax a couple times so I focused on my breathing and relaxing all my muscles, but man it isn't easy to relax when you're eliminating in front of another person, even if it is through a tube. LOL Afterwards I felt good, I felt light. I weighed myself once I got home and sure enough I was lighter. She gave me some probiotics to replenish with the good bacteria our systems need.

Today I ate different because only certain foods are allowed near hydrotherapy.
Yogurt with cranberries and almonds
3 mugs green tea
2 cups pea soup
2 cups steamed veggies
1 boiled egg

Wow, way to go on the colonic!

I bought a Colema Board last year to do my own at home, I just could not bare to bare it all to a stranger!! Same idea, only I took my time reading a magazine, ebbing and flowing, LOL!!

My body absorbed so much water while I was doing a session, I think I held it in too long at times.

Scrub a dub dub!!

hehehe scrub-a-dub-dub

Had a good day. What I ate:

1 grapefruit, 2 green apples, 1 cup pea soup, 2 boiled eggs, salmon salad and 3 mugs of green tea.

I felt good today. My friend had a couple beers but he ordered a caesar salad as well as me. I didn't feel deprived. Ithink I found the secret to eating less. Wear tight tight jeans and your gut simply won't allow you to eat anything beyond decent portions, trust me. LOL

LOL, that would work until you wear something like a large jacket or a hoody where it covers your muffin top and you can undo the button of your jeans and no one can see it!

Ha Ha we do so know the tricks, don't we? lol

I stepped on the scale this a.m. and finally got under 160.

Another good eating day. I discovered an italian restaurant that serves an entire gluten-free menu and is it ever good. I had cannelloni with rice pasta and no sugar tomato sauce. WOW.

For eats today: 1/2 grapefruit, 1 green apple, 4 oz. chicken, 2 boiled eggs, bag of mixed raw veggies (2 cups), 1 oz. pumpkin seeds, and 2 canneloni with tomato sauce. 3 mugs of green tea, 2 litres of water.

I'm moving office spaces next Monday and will be 1/2 block from my gym! So starting Monday, it's gym after work every day.

Have a great night everyone.

Man, I'd love to try that restaurant. I'm half Italian so I'd definitely go for that! I love this Italian store just behind my house, they have such good foods there, I love getting my sandwich meats and cheeses there. I also noticed the other day that they had a bunch of gluten free pastas you could buy.

And yes, we do know those tricks! lol
