It is terrible, I see on the news that 2 people died in South Australia today, and we do have members here on the forum from that state.
Eden Wharf, fire is on the south and west side of Twofold Bay and moving north, If / when it gets past Eden, my uncle who is just to the north of Eden will consider leaving. So far he has ignored evacuation orders, but he was at least safe when I spoke to him this morning.

It's hard to get my head around the Eden wharf being in danger.

Video of RFS drive through checking on property damage (Eden)
Still no confirmation but it is believed the mill may have been destroyed (only access at the moment is by boat), a couple of historic building have been confirmed damaged, but not destroyed.
The Eden fire has been downgraded but is still not under control, Family is still ok
I think the mask release will go to front line services and medical, Son 1s workplace sourced 3 masks for the whole store, so he was able wear one at work last night.

Definitely frontline services and medical should be equipped first with the mask release, but it reads as if they're going to have supplies in shops for the general public. (hardware? chemists? supermarkets? I'm not sure.)
adding later: I see now that they said releasing to "stores" - I read that as meaning "shops", but maybe they mean "supply storehouses".

Eating has been sparce today, but I do have a leg of lamb almost ready to come out of the air fryer. It is great when you find meat on special but I think we are going to see massive increases in lamb price as the southern highlands burn south of Canberra a lot of that area is filled with sheep graziers.
Feeling a little more relaxed as more family and friends check in as safe but also feeling very very angry
The Mill in Eden supported the lively-hood of almost everybody in Eden and many of the smaller villages relied on it in some way, yet the greenies (not conservationists ) are celebrating the destruction of infrastructure and watching it burn to ash claiming all the destruction of the fires, wildlife etc was all worth it to see the mill burn, and of course they are outsiders who have no real understanding.

I'm very glad all your family and friends are in the clear, and that things have eased around Eden - with rain.

I still have friends that are not yet able to head home to what they expect to be total destruction of their homes, this is all going to take a lot of recovery, if recovery is even possible.
Quiet day today, After what I thought was the end of a disastrous breeding season for our birds, a pied peahen has laid another egg which coincides with having a broody chicken, so I may get at least 1 baby after all

I now have 2 pea eggs under the broody chook, and she has definitely adopted the eggs as her own.
Happy I picked up a new PL coaching client yesterday.
Feeling a bit off this morning after heavy bleeding last night, not unusual as I always have a very heavy cycle, never painful, but can leave me feeling a little weak.

I was just saying to Cate - did you see the video of three men in a house on Kangaroo Island? Firefighters, hoping to defend their property - it went, in the end, but they did well, and all survived in good form. At one point they comment to each other about how good the pump is, holding out, and - yeah! I need to know what pump it is they've got.
(There are 200 firefighters on KI and a 230km fire perimeter - but latest news is it's raining.)
