Lift, Train, Fitness

I rarely check the forum birthday list but may just have to start doing so. Sneaky, Tru. You kept that quiet. Happy Birthday for yesterday!

... and on that trail you have to carry everything you need including water ...
sometimes i wonder if this world is going to last another 100 years.... just for a joke, i wanted to see if anyone had the same idea... in a Google search as soon as i put in "dehydrated w", the #1 hit, multiple times, was dehydrated water. ... and people wonder why we're running out of landfills.

I think you said your birthday was going to be when you were going to stop and evaluate the "carnivore challenge" experience - how did it go?

I will check my belt sizing when I can get into the gym, my hip has been so painful I can hardly move, I wish the injection had not been postponed. Very busy couple of weeks coming up

Last lecture today prior to the final exams for the semester, A bit of extra study over the next couple of weeks should finish of the semester nicely. Monday was all about cultural sensitivity and being inclusive in sport, but not to the detriments of team culture.

Little Miss has a cold and did not sleep well last night.

I need some time to relax, and get some crafting done in the shed, as our regular games night this weekend has been postponed due to members of the group participating in Relay for Life.

I'll be about Tru. Hope you have a relaxing day, especially after a rough night's sleep. Poor little miss, poor Mum, xo

Your course sounds great - going into tricky issues thoughtfully. Hope you have a calm run-up time to the exams, with time to study at your leisure, as well as to craft and spend time with the family. :)

going into tricky issues thoughtfully.

It is a tricky area, however, it was mentioned in the lecture that in one European country that did a religion survey that the biggest religion was Jedi at 18% written in the "other" section.

:) That might be a reason to look into where/how that study recruited its participants. Unless it was just after a big news story about Jedi religion something or other.

I think the lecturer said it was some kind of government survey, all it really tells is there are a lot of starwars fans in that country

Or they had a selection bias. Or there had just been a relevant news story. Can´t remember what country it was but a couple of years back a guy got his driver´s license picture taken with a colander on his head, after which they had a significant uptick in people wanting to be registered as worshipping the Spaghetti Monster, the Invisible Pink Unicorn - or as a Jedi.

I have a GP appointment today, and also need to look around the shops with little miss. we need to make a decision about what to buy for her birthday on the weekend, I was considering a bike, but yesterday at childcare she was intensely watching the big kids riding scooters down a hill at childcare, the staff decided to just let her watch considering her age, however a short time later without any help got on one of the scooters and powered herself down the hill like a pro, giving the staff a big grin at the bottom of the hill. Feedback from the centre in an evaluation letter for bubs paediatrician next week is that she is very advanced for her age in physical ability and is incredibly smart.

As the two colleagues before me have remarked... :D :iagree:

And a lovely word-picture of Little Miss really enjoying the whole experience - speed and air rushing past and most of all her own capability!

Cardio training.png

Progressive cardio training for an untrained healthy adult for general fitness, HRR is calculated using the Karvonen formula

Thanks, that is an interesting table. I assume it applies to most any form of exercise. Is there some simple way to figure out where you are with HRR? Do you need some kind of heart rate monitor?

I have been biking, building up from scratch has been a slow process, but it is working. Now I feel like I need to know how hard or not to push things. On your chart I think I am somewhere between the Initial Stage and the Improvement Stage, but don't really know.
