Lift, Train, Fitness

Cooking burgers tonight for the family (I make my own patties as well as using eggs from my free range chooks and other local produce) Mine as always are bun-less but the rest of the family likes their bread rolls.

I love bread but burger buns aren´t my thing. Homemade burgers are always better than bought, though!

I love burgers or rissoles. We usually have Venison in the freezer & G makes delicious rissoles. Hmm. Maybe hint time. I'm glad your shoulder is improving too :)

Jumping in here and very interested to hear more about your journey with and thoughts on keto. I echo your sentiments with keto-fying unhealthy foods so that we can pretend they're healthy, I also constantly see it in my chosen diet path vegetarian/vegan-ish... a frankenfood vegan buffalo chicken wing with ranch dressing is not healthy, its just an overpriced chicken nugget with no chicken!

Aside from that, hope you are recovering with your shoulder... has the treatment helped at all?

Re: bunless burgers - I sometimes wrap the pattie (patty? how should I spell that?) in a couple of lettuce leaves, when I want to have something handheld to really chomp on. :D

I have been keto for years as it is a good fit and has a growing body of science to support it. It also works well in conjunction with my various food intolerance which make other ways of eating difficult.

Keto is often misunderstood, a keto diet just means you have a low enough carb intake to induce ketosis in which state you primary source of energy is fat. It does not mean filling all of your meals with fat like many believe. It also does not mean you don't have vegetables. If I want to avoid a conversation about keto and get asked what I eat, I can safely say I eat a mix of lean meats and vegetables, because that is exactly what my keto eating really is.

More band work for my shoulder this morning, also went into the gym to have a chat with the owner (friend) she is jealous of the time I am going to get to spend in the university testing gym but it helps to have a sounding board when learning new stuff. Although the gym was rather chaotic when I went in as they have a marketing company running a 6 week campaign now the gym renovations are finished.

I hope to be able to get back into the gym for light training and mobility work at the end of the week or early next week.

Tomorrow I have a campus tour and induction at the Uni.

Now to go and attempt to relax a bit, building some more 28mm scale game terrain and dioramas. while putting off doing a full shed cleanup of one of our shed which will become my home gym for both my training and coaching rather than doing all of my coaching in town at the gym. The shed has a full bathroom and kitchen, and floor space roughly equivalent to a 10 car shed. This is a separate shed to my crafting and games shed lol

might sound like a mansion lol, but at the end of the day it is still a tin shed that gets too hot in summer, It is a converted farm machinery shed that has some insulation. For the past few years we have only been using it to store junk, and the amount of junk you have grows to fill all available space lol

The gym has a lab for scientific testing :)

A lot of what you learn as a personal trainer or coach is theory that is hard to validate as being the best way to do things, a test lab allows for a whole lot more option to actually see proper results as to most effective way to train.

So true. So what kind of stuff do they test?

I don't know the full extent, but will soon :)

I do know they have a couple of elite sports teams they support including the Sunshine Coast Lightning (Super Netball Champions) so there is a lot of stuff done there looking at peak performance testing and injury prevention testing

Spent time today going through my subject outlines, ordered my textbooks (second hand) the first assessment for one of my subjects is complete before I start. It is a portfolio of Australian sports commission certifications that I have already completed. This will free up time to dedicate to other assessment tasks.

I also need to decide as part of uni this semester to either qualify as a cricket coach or an Oz tag coach.

Been feeling crap the last couple of days with the flu, but the introduction to USC and campus tour went well. It feels much more real now I have my student ID card. There was a few mature age students at the intro but the vast majority were all younger than my 3 boys lol.

Eating has been ok, going to grill some fish for lunch now.

I hope you get better really quickly, Tru.
I have a feeling that being only one of a few mature aged students won't bother you at all. You'll blitz this course.

Feeling a little better today, chest is still very congested.

Completed rehab exercises with bands again today, food was ok, bub was full of energy lots of chasing around, she loves my mini trampoline that I never use lol.
